why don't you buy a 6kva 48v system instead of 24v system, also what is the make of the inverter

please drop that idea of getting 300w s, why not go to fouani and get a higher wattage and half cut technology ( you can get 6 s of 620w Jinko s from Fouani @ N138 900 which is better than the 12 s of 300w that was quoted for you), that will also be a tier 1 .

Stormyweather:
Hi gurus.

Someone gave me this bill.

What do you think?

Quotation For Four Batteries

4)Solar cable 5600x20yard=112,000
6)Electrical accessories 30,000
7)Battery rack 28,000
coolSolar accessories 35,000

so all this you have mentioned is a case of not doing a proper energy audit and system sizing. I have been fully off-grid for close to a year now and it took me back to the drawing board to do a proper energy and system sizing, I can confidently tell you that i power every appliances normally being powered by NEPA with my Solar energy system, come rain come sun i am having 24 hrs of power in my house.

nurudeen181:

But it doesn't work like that, it can be better though, the important part of a solar system are the s, everything else are a waste of resources but maybe that's what we have now. Solar today is inefficient, it's not replaceable to nepa light, yes nepa light is costly and not stable or reliable but we need stop making people believe solar can replace nepa light now because it cant.
1. When there's no sunlight, no power for you, when sunlight is poor, no stable power, when sun is at it's peak, there's limit to what you can power and the duration it can power you appliances.
2. Affordablility, how many familie can afford a solar system that will power the electronics in their house the way nepa light does even if they'll have to use some at a time and others at other times.
3. Efficiency, the s are mostly doing great work but the charge controllers and the battery is nothing to write home about. Charge battery the whole day and at night, the charge is down and they tell you that you should have reduced load or put it of during the day...
4. Improvement, i thing a good solar generator should be able to produce sufficient power without the battery connected so that the solar generator can produce power during the day while the battery is charging and the batter can take over at night when the sun is no more. My take
And mind you, solar is not environmentally friendly. The batter is destroying the environment. This is a hard truth. The s are fine but the batteries, no way. To make 1mah battery, a lot of destruction of the environment has happened not to talk more of making batteries in kwh. The resources can not sustain the demands. Goto , go to drc, china and see this effects

Take a look at the quality of human beings appointed.

Good schools, sterling careers.

Sensible investment strategists.

Balanced appointments!

May they succeed.

PS: Austin Avuru, Babs Omotowa, Bello Rabiu sit or sat on the board of Seplat. The new MD is from Renaissance Energy. Henry Ikem Obih came from ExxonMobil and had served as ED in NNPC during Buhari's time. David Ige worked in NNPC. Yusuf Usman also had a stint in Shell and NNPC. Some of these guys graduated first class and had a strong mix of public sector and private sector experience. The appointments are spot on and well thought out. We'd assess their performace within the next two years, God willing.

guy ditch that installer, he is used to connecting low voltage inverters and charge controllers. he is even adamant to learn
SourYoghurt:
I called him a few minutes ago, he said he did it in parallel in his words: Na 48volts dem dey connect in series. undecided
obitobe: 5:18am On Feb 22
Some installer don't read specification and that is the problem I have with them. please run all three s in series. Also I hope he did not cut the MC4 connectors off.

SourYoghurt:

the installer claims that it was done in parallel.

Hoverbird:
Hello guys please I need advise.

I have a 5kwhr/5kva LiPO4 system(Inverter/charge controller/Battery) in a unit.

I purchased 6 units of 650w Sunter Bifacial s. I posted the specs of the and my inverter system. Please what connection is best factoring in the specs of the system.

I already purchased a 6mm2 DC cable and AC/DC breaker. I want to also know if that cable size is sufficient as the recommended charge current for the system is 50A, max 100A.

I intend running a refrigerator and one 1.5HP AC

NB
========================
I intend to Add 2 more units of same s in 3 months

I experienced the same thing in the Tokunbo s i bought after two years and one got burnt out. After that i had to change the entire s to tier 1 s.

what might caused this are;

1. when you do not use MC4 connectors but rather cut the wires and do the connection thereby creating more resistance for the flow of current.

2. directly placing the s on the roof without allowing for air flow underneath the s.

3. using wrong gauges of dc wiring.

I will advice you to replace that with a new one

What could be responsible for this burn and cracks?
This is a 6yr but two of my s suddenly one after the other developed this syndrome.

Is this by chance still functional?

Using series for 19 s at V.O.C of 37.2v with inverter VoC of 500v is not a good thing, it will damage the inverter. if you are to ask me i will do 13 s in series and then introduce a charge controller for the remaining s.

Edrizz:

It is utmost impossible to have 100% harvest from ur s, max is always 70%. So going by that u can series 19pcs n discard d remaining 6.
obitobe: 5:47pm On Feb 05
I doubt if those s are original Canadian s

what are the s specification, if possible send picture of the back where the spec is.

prince4pro2:

I hv added two more pannels. What I hv now is highest 8a and highest 90w according to the charge controller

Bros you just said the truth, when you undersize the you likely experience things like this that is why I rely on the voltage rather than SOC. Once your s are well sized and your battery get full everyday the BMS will always recalibrate.

I equally use Valto's battery and I have never experienced this because I sized my s very well.

princely009:
Dam5reey1 clearly stated that his post is for educational purpose only.
Besides everything he said there is totally true becus i experienceed it with one of my lithium batteries just last week. The battery was barely getting to 100% SOC daily due to undersized s and a high dust in the area.
Last week, the inverter cut off power, beeping low battery bt the display on the battery was at 48% SOC and i was surprised.
I called Valto whom i got the battery from and he told me to charge the battery until it stops receiving current and also to ignore the display on the battery even if it is showing 100% and charge the battery until it stops taking current that the BMS will recalibrate itself. I did exactly as he instructed and everything is back to normal. The BMS has recalibrated itself.
I believe Valto didn't explain all the details that Dam5reey1 went into in his post with me becus he knows I jst wanted solution and not explanations.
And before you say I am being biased myself, Valto is my plug for lithium batteries. I hav bought over 6 batteries frm him. Three (11.7kwh, 14.3kwh and 16kwh) batteries personally for myself, and more than 3 through my recommendations to my friends and installer). And all are performing excellently well.
Infact, I am planning to buy another 16kwh battery from him for a friend next week.

PS- I have oversized my s in that location and my battery gets fully charged every day now.

Their new rebranded charge controllers are quiet troublesome. Seen people complain about it.

I’m really seeing this Felicity charge controller as being useless and overhyped. It’s really frustrating.

Apply series configuration to the s and make sure to use the right gauge of wire

BlueStripper:
Good Morning Bosses,

Please I need your advice before I install my setup. So i bought this inverter with this data sheet and 9pcs of 485w Jinko s. Kindly advice the best wiring connection for maximum yield.

I was thinking connecting all 9 in series, considering the inverters Imax of 22A.

Datasheet below

Pmax - 485w
Maximum Power Current ‒ Imp [A] - 13.38a
Maximum Power Voltage ‒ Vmp [V] - 36.25v
Open-circuit Voltage ‒ Voc [V] - 43.76v
Short-circuit Current ‒ Isc [A] - 13.93

Please advice me.

Bros my honest opion which might not count, go and buy tier 1 s( jinko, Longi, original canadian, Era etc)and save yourself the pain. i bought 12 300w that only did a max of 1.6kw, but when i manage to discard them and went for Jinko s, its like a bunden left my body seeing my s generating over 4kw.

ManAdii:

No reason boss. I just wanted to patronize a Nigerian brand to grow our economy. grin cheesy

But if I don't see any positive review from existing s I will opt for jinko.

the bulk/ CV= 27.6v
Float voltage =27.2v
Cut off voltage = 24.5v

unless you do not mind the 615w pannel working as 280w which is a lot of lost then you can go ahead.

my honest advise is get the same rated s and do not mix s of different rating, but if you are hell bent of using the 615w then get an external charge controller so you can rip the benefit.

Good afternoon house

I want to make enquiry

I went to fouani office here in Abuja to get 2 pieces of jinko 615w to add to 4 felicity 280w already installed but the manager said it will not work except I don’t care if the new is supplying 280 instead of 615.
I called an installer and was told same thing. later, I was discussing with someone and he said I should not mind them that it will work well if I install the 2 new , then connect it to another face on amon the charge controller

I want to confirm from people with experience

Thanks

Check you manual its either call Charge voltage (C.V)/ Bulk voltage. then you will see float volatge too, check does settings and see what are the figures there.

5 s in series..... 3 475w and 2 485w... As for the bulk charge and absorb settings, I really don't know how to go about it...

Check you Bulk charge and absorb settings. Also how many s and wattage of the s are you using.

Hi, good afternoon everyone...pease, I am still very new to this and I'm trying to understand how this works..... I read online that 29v means it's fully charged for lithium 24v batteries and 27v means charged but resting....my system never gets past 27v, is this okay?....
obitobe: 12:11pm On Nov 10, 2024
what make of s are this and what wattage

ask4bk:

The s are even too much. Every day before 10:30am battery is fully charged from what was used at night. Even yesterday when there was no strong sun but cloud, it was giving 2.4kwh at 9am

I can attest to this, Valto is so different, hardly will you get people do business with open mind. He is always ready to answer your questions even if it sounds dumb. With him, there are no stupid questions, if it were to be some other persons they will block you or not respond at all.

SourYoghurt:

I can't agree less.
Bought from him, even paid in installments, he still answer my dumb question even to this day.

Does that generation charge your battery fully every day. Even in bad weather do it get to 100% or what range does it get to.

ask4bk:

I use same consumption as you, yet I use 14kwh lithium battery and 4400w solar s, and 5kva inverter.
Na your money go determine wetin you go use
obitobe: 5:27pm On Oct 31, 2024
why you should not charge up to 14.6v, there is little or no gain. Best advisable range is 13.7-13.8v.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0cYky8Axns&t=268s

Dam5reey1:

You point are off Topic, Can I use 14.6V on a well Built pack is well balanced at the top with low Deviation?

Stop adding errors from inverter and all.

The battery i tested all have 3.65V and BMS is active and there is no issue so far because I am using it.

Wether there is 0 gain or thats another topic.

please if money is not your problem then go for Pylontech and leave Felicity alone. Pylontech is more quality than felicity in of their cells.

Dageek:
Hello great people, I have been following this thread for a while, took my time to read through existing pages and was able to extract some information, but I’m really locked in between choosing battery.

Based on my power requirements, I would need at least 10kwh battery, this means the pylontech battery of that capacity will cost 4 million plus while felicity 15kwh (13kwh real capacity) will cost more less

This is not my first solar system, I have a 3.5kva 24v system with 2 flooded batteries and 8 x 300w Siemens s, my plan is to a bigger system using Deye 6kw from odyssey, 12 x 555w jinko s from Fouani , Felicity battery from Naira lander here or Pylontech from Fouani

I would like to seek advise from people who have already used or installed either the Pylontech or felicity of that capacity, which one to choose considering durability, performance and ease of use.

Furthermore, I don’t want to use custom coupled battery because most of these batteries don’t offer communication port which is essential for the system I’m trying to build
