Farmerakinloye6:Wow. Cucumber price is quite good in your area. Highest I heard was about 20k last week. Even 8 to 10k 2 weeks ago for white varieties. |

safarifarms:Please where did you get your Pekin ducks? I rear Muscovy ducks and the younger ones (less than four months) don't fare well under the rain. They haven't developed their waterproof feathers by then. Even the older ones like to take shelter from very heavy rains. Do well to provide some shelter for them. |

OGoriola:Do you know Lusada? It's Ogun state though. From Sango-Atan-Lusada/Igbesa road. Just after the Lusada bridge on your way to Agbara. There's a farmercare outlet. You can't miss it. Brightly painted complex on your left. They have a relatively well-stocked shop. Initially an animal farming store, they delved into crop farming supplies about a year ago. You need to know what you want though as the current staff are still learning the ropes with respect to crop farming inputs. |

In addition if you have the resources, grower mash would be ideal for their growth. If not use brewery spent grains. It's richer than corn chaff.

Boss @Okoroemeka, I have nothing but respect for you in this Agric space. I would urge that you look into the issue of the collection, preservation and packaging of your seeds. I do not know the OP and have never communicated with him. However I also had issues with the pepper seeds I got from you earlier this year. I bought red and yellow scorpion; Nsukka pepper. The pack of Nsukka (a small quantity in a different type of pack) opened and spilled before it got to me. I informed you about this. The red and yellow scorpion seeds developed fungal attack (like in OP's picture) the yellow a few days after I bought them and the other about two weeks later, while still unopened and kept where I keep other seeds. My seeds from other companies including the okro I got from you are still ok as I write. This fungal issue caused me to plant all the red and yellow scorpion immediately and all at once unplanned as I noticed the issue. I had planned to do it in batches because of my limited space and also at the end of the year/early next year. However I had to rush to sow the seeds in June as I feared they would spoil further and no longer germinate by December. I soaked for about two days with fungicides and had very good germination rate. I never mentioned this to you but I should have and am sorry to be bringing it out here like this now. The third issue I have is that the fruits that came (from red and yellow scorpion) are a wide assortment of pepper varieties: the red and yellow scorpion, and then small amounts of up to 3 or 4 other different varieties. I was suprised at this but went back to read your threads and discovered that you developed the yellow scorpion and probably the red scorpion varieties yourself. So I excused this. Furthermore they are packed in another institutions packaging which I don't think is right. The above are my experiences with my purchase from Okoroemeka. 2 Likes 1 Share |

There's a reason why millet thrives in northern Nigeria. Do your findings before you decide to grow it in the south.
