Mine is on private use.....I get to drop it after 2500 km.

Haven't touched my engine since I got the car.

You can never go wrong with changing oil frequently.

The oil should be able go longer than that.

4000km for 20w?

Is this fair?

Asking for my Pastor's brother's wife friend?

Yes, it's good for 5000km or 3000 miles if the vehicle is used privately.

Since it's used for ehaling, 4000km is fair.

I always buy my oil from filling station, I don't know about the filter tho but I buy oil from filling station and I change oil at every 4000km, i don't even let it exceed 4000km.

Omo, make I just go take sleepy tablet so I can sleep very well...

I didn't mean fake oil. 4000km is fair but it's still the wrong oil.

I just gave them my car to ring o, they billed me 200k excluding oil cox I already got oil yesterday.

I can't believe I'm ringing this car under 2years use...

And, I do service it every month.

The problem seems quite obvious to me. Wrong oil, cheap filter and delayed oil changes.

Secondly, for all the good things people say about Corollas, based on past experiences, it is my view that the engine handles abuse poorly.

At least Zenith was transparent enough to let us know when they were done with their upgrade

GT sent email yesterday that they were done. Till now, app no dey work.

Zenith did the exact same thing. Lied they were done and nothing worked for at least another day.

I would have sent you the link if you were on twitter so you can check the quotes. They had to disable comments because they knew it was a lie.

My generators were 4 years old. My normal policy is to replace every two years or when cumulative cost of repairs has ed the cost of procurement. By then they are more wahala than they are worth.

I changed their carburators last year when they were already in a bad state.

It's not so much age as it is Naija artisans - who can always be counted on to fk anything they put their hands on. Fix one problem and create three more.

Didn't realize that was EgunMogaji-2. My bad.

You must be using the generator a whole lot. Been using mine for 6 years and only thing I've done is change the rope and service the carburettor. Still works as it worked on day one.

imho these guys are just farming content

i have run lpg on and off since 2015

i am running my gen off lpg right now

for me it comes down to cost and convenience

it was not cost effective before this latest deregulation. [as naija matter lpg was 6k and is now 12k] however when there is queue, you can buy lpg faster [peoples blood dey hot hot hot so i no dey invoke priviledge as before. also too much cloak and dagger with jerry cans a month ago.

all i will say is it is best f you have a new generator

a generator costs like 300k to 500k - a solar installation is upwards of 5m.

so i take these stories of i replaced my petrol gen with solar with a handful of salt

That's egunm.ogaji on nairaland. You frequent the property section so you know there's no way he's farming content.

Besides, didn't you just say the engine of your gen got bad? How do we know using LPG didn't contribute.

They are all porting/migrating their core software or something like that. To local or Indian based solutions.

I was going to post one of the articles from nairametrics

Unfortunately as banks have 0 downtime we will have these issues.

He should be glad GTB was wise enough to do it within the month.

Zenith bank did theirs at the end of the month when people were expecting salaries. My salary was delayed by almost two weeks. Even the money there could not be transferred out. The experience wasn't funny at all.

It's difficult to find a bank more useless than Zenith.

I come in peace.

I want to get something straight. How many hours of electricity does a provider supply an area designated as "Band A"?

If it is at least 20 hours per day, how come people complain about the prices since it is almost constant? And protest if their area is about to be designated Band A? Two, how come industries still have to face diesel issues when Band A areas are available across every state (please correct me if I am wrong)? Or is Band A only meant for residential areas?

Thank you.

I am not sure using prepaid meters is cost effective for industries especially those who use heavy equipment that draw a lot of power.

They will rather negotiate like Glorious.Gbola has said, use CNG or just run diesel 24/7

In Benin city if you manage to get 7800 on bolt comfort for 1hr drive you go thanks God honestly.. this is what I have been pondering on this trend. It's favors more in Lagos , Abj and Ph.. thats why you guys ain't kvetching. Anyway that doesn't mean in the long run majority of you are catching out.. you manage and struggling to get 20k net enter house doesn't mean you can achieved that constantly every day.. now when major maintenance calls you go know say bolt work now modern day thraldom

I stand to be corrected but I believe only the guys in Lagos make the kind of money you see here.

This is the first time you are hearing of drug mix? You all are bougie people. I've known and seen it as far back as the 90s

Most of the blue collar guys don't know the name of the medication they want, they don't even know the sickness because they dont go to hospital

Once they feel funny they just go to chemist and say "Oliver give me mix" or just say Oga Oliver and make a sign with their hand like circle to indicate mix

He will give them drugs for headache, stomach ache, blood tonic, anti malaria sometimes add alabukun and other medication that treat common diseases. The guys will just swallow everything at once. Say if na A B or C diseases I get one of these drugs will catch it

In Yoruba they call mix "Adipo or Ladipo" aka combined

Damn! This is my first time of hearing this o.

Hmmmm...That means people working and have access to HMO don't know that they are enjoying o. A friend of mine got a job recently with slightly higher pay that where he works currently but he rejected the offer because the new work place don't have HMO.

His rejection was premised on the fact that his wife is pregnant and will be due for delivery. His current HMO covers cost of delivery which will definitely put a hole in his pocket if he were to pay from out of pocket. Now I understand his decision to reject the new job made much sense considering he's even due for promotion and increased pay this year.

But this one people are now cooking with firewood and charcoal, are we not going back to Abacha era type of hardship?

HMO is one of the understated perks of 9-5 and of the things I'll greatly miss. I didn't pay one naira for the delivery of my children. Even the joy of not having to keep money by the side for unforseen medical emergencies is priceless.

As for the bolded, let's ask raumdeuter. cheesy

this may not be a proper analogy

my generator was 4 years old. when i put it on lpg, it was burning oil, and a cylinder would not last 10 hours. now with a new engine, it is not burning oil and a cylinder is going for like 18 hours plus.

i suspect the real issue is that so many cars have already been fked by mechanics with multiple tolerances adjusted. the conventional wisdom was change your car every 4 years, not because of age per se, but because the more mecanic touch am, the more fked the engine is. that may be the root issue, tweaking an already fked car engine

If you have the time and watch the video nezzjnr shared, those with engine issues reported that the engine got worse after conversion. Infact, one had to change the engine. Said its been working perfectly since he changed it.

So those with vehicles with engine problems even if minor will be better advised to avoid CNG conversion.

The bold is my own major concern too. I always wonder how other people are surviving . I literally ghost some acquaintances simply because I know the moment u ask about their well being , when they tell u exactly how they are something must drop from ur hand. Even though I feel guilty about not checking up on them ,thereโ€™s not much I can do because I also have my own responsibilities.

When u see wife doing teaching job in private school where they donโ€™t pay above 70k and husband working in a company where he earns 150k, u begin to wonder how they will manage 220k combined family income to spend on feeding for 30 days, NEPA bill, make provision for annual house rent , cater for the needs of 2 kids etc.

Have you heard of drug mix? I just recently heard it as well.

When people fall sick these days, they go to the chemist and buy mix.

Two tablets of paracetamol, one tablet of antibiotics and one tablet of antimalaria.

After two or three days when they get some more money, they visit again to buy another mix. Chai

My friend in Abeokuta told me they no longer cook with gas

I asked what they use, he said charcoal stove. I said but you still have to buy the charcoal which is now expensive. He said I should be playing. That they get wood from bushes and make their own charcoal grin

My brother, this kind hardship, I never see before

Baba u are comparing apples to oranges. Nobody goes into betting because they just want to throw away money. Adrenaline rush is never the satisfaction to be derived from betting, in fact that adrenaline rush is one of the negative side of betting; u would feel uneasy and get tormented with the near there syndreome.

For example look at Arsenal Vs Man city game few weeks ago. We would have people who bet on City to win against Arsenal considering City hasn't lost in their home stadium for a wile now and City are in good form. The game starts and City leads as expected . You will be happy and relaxed the game is going on as planned till Arsenal draw level. Then shortly after Arsenal takes the lead 2-1. At that point u start getting uneasy knowing how defensive Arteta can be when he really needs.

Somehow Trossard gets a red card before half time and you are relieved City now has what it takes to draw the game and take the lead. Now for straight 45 minutes u will endure the torture of Arsenal blocking every shot, intercepting es and frustrating city's attempt to wrap up the game against 10 man Arsenal. On 90 minutes u start cussing Guardiola, the players and even the referee if he fails to spot any infringement. You can literally see ur potential winning slipping off ur hands then City draws level but u played City to win. The match ends 2-2 and u let out a loud hiss. Everything go just dey vex u grin

How is that for leisure?

Let me tell u , people bet for two major reasons:

1. To make money which will serve as ive income if u have a job
2. To make big money cashout if u don't have a regular income and u see betting as a way to "make it"

Unfortunately, when people do critical stock taking they always discover neither of those two goals gets realized in the long run(except for a very minute lucky few)

And that is why they always end up disappointed and get addicted.

My point ab initio is, you have to approach betting with a particular mindset. A mindset different from the usual.

It's the one where I say, this 30k could have been used to drink beer. Let me use it to bet over the season.

If I win once, I break even. If more than once, I'm in profit. If I lose, I could have used it to drink beer. I stick to the plan whatever the outcome is.

See let's set the of this thing before u start.

The whole Idea is for me to prove that even if u have plans to limit ur risk to a particlular threshold every weekend, u will still arrive at a final end which is: U will lose all the money in due time. The only way not to do that is for u to quit. That is what I have been saying all these while.

Whatever financial discipline rule u may think u want to follow, I have walked that path before and I realized the only way out is to not bet at all; that's how u don't lose money in betting. That's the reason why I quit, it's not like I don't win when I was betting. I literally used betting winnings to fund my journey to NYSC back then. I don use betting money do birthday before. I've had enough motivation to keep betting, but I know it's a game u are never going to defeat the bookies in the long run.

Wheher u bet on 1.01 odds or 2.00 odds, u will still arrive at a point where u will lose all ur capital. It is just a matter of time.

Do u think people that always lament " Wetin we wan play again? we don bet play first yellow card, first throwing , goal-goal, etc and ticket still " are not risk conscious or they don't have plans? na betting chop dem turn dem to Jeremiah wey dey write lamentations o.

I get your point.

What I'm saying is a mindset that sees money lost during betting as the same as money lost watching a music show or watching football at a viewing centre. It can be argued that those other activities give value for money compared to betting.

However, the fun, thrill and adrenaline rush that comes with betting plus the added benefit of financial reward is also value.

You then highlighted the problem of addiction and I said I have absolute control over my emotions. Win or lose, I stick to the plan.

While I want to win money, I am acknowledging the fact that even if I lose, the 30k is no different from the 30k nihilist will spend buying white london over the course of the season.
Itsrm(m): 10:24am On Oct 10, 2024
Theflint1:
And what if you don't get the one winning ticket?

I think it's easy to have a plan and stick with it when that plan is 1K every weekend, people that go into betting for the reason anyone goes into betting knows it's next to impossible to do so.

And that's the point I was making. If you treat it as leisure, have a plan, stick to it, control your emotions, you can do it without getting addicted.

BlueRayDick is saying the high that comes with winning or the impulsive need to chase losses cannot be controlled.

I disagree.

Anybody that has played bet enough knows there's nothing like safe odds. Teams with 1.08 odds dey lose, teams with 17 odss dey win.

You should go on twitter and see people rejoicing anytime a new football season is starting; they all have the positive energy that they will win big this new season. When season ends and u ask them how many weeks they actually won in a 38 week league season, u will be surprised even the most experienced punters don't win up to 10 times in a season. Why? Simply because of upset.

All my life I've known elderly people who have been playing "pool" since the 70's/80's long before sports betting became a thing. They bet on Australian leagues and lower leagues in England. You will see those baba's in small wooden shops with white net-like curtains. Some of them are grandpas now and still play pool forecasting draws in those leagues. Those babas know teams that will play draw like the back of their hands, yet they always suffer upsets denying them millions of naira year after year. They study chats, trends and patterns yet they always fall short.

I just dey look itsrm. By the time Akhisar belediyespor beats Galatasary from nowhere, his eyes will clear grin

Dey play grin

You think I will waste my time with those 1.07 odds. Where do I even have the time to be accumulating 100 matches just to get 30 odds.

Minimum odd per match will be 1.50. I need the fewest matches possible.

And just to be clear, I'm not saying I will make money or I will win. There's a good possibility I'll lose all the 30k.

I'm only saying, win or lose, no matter the circumstances, I will only do it max of once a week as planned and will not return to it once the season ends.
Itsrm(m): 10:08am On Oct 10, 2024
Theflint1:
Since he says minimum odds will be 30, anyhow he chooses to accumulate those 30 odds is fine.

Yes. That way, I will only need one lucky win over the course of the season to make my money back.

Good! Please note that on each ticket u are expected to accumulate at least 5 games. It's not the one u will bet on just one team every weekend o.
