Not a Nigerian thing though. A lot of people lie on their cv worldwide
One American woman lied on her cv to land a job in television. Of course she was underperforming well well. Fortunately, her superior found her 'gumption' irable and assigned her to other duties. The woman went on to become a top tv producer..true story
Na who nor dey lie for CV raise your hand, this job I am presently doing na lie I lie, and I've been doing it for more than 3 years now.

The father did not fail the boy. Because the father's plate number would have been used to trace him. Rather the police officer should be charged for murder
I disagree, the father failed the boy, because his actions ignored the whole situation.

TallNigerian:
There are too many things to be deduced from this video and they all trickle down to the culture of lawlessness in Nigeria.
1. Father of deceased: That driving was too reckless. You were driving against traffic yet refused to stop and answer the traffic enforcement team. Just imagine how he was bashing into other cars and even the road culvert, destroying his own car in the process. What justification could he have had? If not for anything, he should have considered that a minor (his child for that matter) was in the car. That shows the level of lawlessness amongst Nigerian drivers.
2. Police: No need to dwell on them. We already know they should be the second worst police force in the world. Second only to probably Afghanistan. Is shooting a live bullet the way to solve a traffic infraction or stop a stupid driver?
3. Traffic Officers a.k.a Agberos in Uniform: From their uncouth language alone, you can tell that one of the major requirement in their recruitment process is the ability to use swear words and behave live a tout. No person who went through the four walls of a tertiary institution will behave like those urchins do. Last last, education no be scam.
4. Other Nigerians: Our emergency preparedness is zero, our situational awareness is zero, ability to think critically in difficult situation = zero. No sense. Maybe if we were not Nigerians, that child would have gotten to the hospital in good time and might have lived.
We all play our part towards how terrible our country and society is. Our leaders are a true reflection of who we are as individuals and as collective people.
Corollary: After watching this video, I wonder if this man's wife will forgive him. His sheer stupidity escalated the situation that eventually cost them their son's life.
This is the best analysis, we know our police are always on the edge, why then provoke them further, last last he could have settled this thing with maximum 5k

So many unprofessional d0Its in the police force.
Most of them are just very reckless and lack discipline.
Why can't they learn how to stop vehicle by shooting at the tires? This is completely avoidable!
They can simply just take down the number plate and use it to trace the offender.
Why just shoot recklessly?
The officer and the offender needs to be severely punished.
....and the driver that was driving dangerously against one way traffic is innocent abi.

That man is very stupid. Now that he's lost his son I hope he's very happy with himself.
Why not stop when they ask you to stop. Even if your papers are not complete highest they'll do is to collect money from you.
Now his stubbornness has cost the life of his son.
And to the police officer that discharged his firearm. He should be arrested and jailed.
... you get sense, both of them are to be blamed, but the father more than the Police.

.....no, but he was driving recklessly and dangerously against one way traffic and never considered the other occupants of his car, the driver is entirely to blame.

Nonsense talk, this is a very myopic way of thinking, what is age got to do with love and common interest that two people share, some young people have a mature outlook in life, while some so called mature people are the worst set of people you can come across, all these corrupt Governors that have stiffled the growth of this country are in their 50s and 60s.
Emefiele that built over 70 or 700 duplexes with stolen money is in his 60s.

Rip to the deceased. But why was the father driving against traffic? If the press release is true, the police has no fault in this issue. The father also needs to be arrested and charged to court. And lastly, the police needs training in handling their rifle
....I concur here, a full grown up man teaching his son how to be irresponsible by driving against traffic.

Unprofessional police force. Must they shoot in such scenario. Judging by the magnitude of population in that Gbagi area especially in afternoon, those trigger happy policemen shud hv shot now. Why can't they keep chasing the car until he's caught.
C'mon. And it's not asif the driver was armed like we used to hv in US,even in US I to watch video of police car chases without shooting.
This what happens when u recruits 18 years old into police and leave behind experienced and and mature citizens who can use their discretion to act professionally when under pressure. What a sad commentary
.... you deliberately failed to mention why the driver decided to drive against traffic.

Chai. Whoever drafted this press release needs sanction. Imagine that paragraph 4? Looking at the attached pix clearly shows that d bullet was not shot from the rear as the rear shield is still intact. But why on earth would a police shot live ammunition in such area? The casualty could be more than one. Who aims live ammunition at a tire of a moving vehicle from the rear? Shior. You claimed to suspect a case of abduction, but it's you that now gunned down the supposed victim. But why was the man driving against traffic and didn't stop for police. It's within the city now.
..... the main question here is WHY WAS THE MAN DRIVING AGAINST TRAFFIC AND REFUSED TO STOP, I suppose he was daring the police to shoot and they did, he therefore caused the death of the 14 yr old because of his irresponsible and reckless actions.

That morning he was handed the papers of the car, just in case of the usual where your particulars people. His first assignment was to purchase petrol into the car. He drove off and never returned. When we searched for him, his address was fake. His guarantor fake. The car was never seen again.
Just imagine the thief in the picture. Day1 stole items worth over 10k. If he was not caught, he probably would keep stealing that amount worth of goods until he finished the shop. The man did not realize that there was CCTV or he probably underrated it. He maybe never thought that he would be caught. That’s the type who people employ as housekeepers and they remove money and gold.

...That they got trained for "free", and should be paid peanuts.
Well, there is a reason your elected leaders and politicians prefer to treat even common cold and migraine in hospitals abroad where doctors are not paid 1,000 Naira or less per hour.
...For proper context... That's less than 1 Dollar per hour.
Freelancers with only a Diploma working from home as Virtual Assistants earn at least 5 Dollars per hour, while a whole medical professional earns 5 times less while risking his health and peace of mind to save lives daily.
..... what proper context, do we spend dollars, I recently engaged the services of a carpenter, and he charged me #5k. Please compare like with like.

A resident is in his late 20s or early thirties when he should be getting married, buying a house or whatever project. On top of that, there will be people billing him just for being a doctor. How can he buy a car, fuel it and take care of other expenses from such a salary
..... you expect a young person starting out to rush and buy a house, car, and carry family on top of his head. Why can't he rent for a while and use public transportation since he is still young.

That’s false. A resident doctor who just started residency earns about 450k, a senior reg earns almost 620k, a consultant could go as high as 800k
.....I personally think the Doctors are just plain greedy, in a country where the minimum wage is 70k, you are started on 350-400k a month during training, I think it is reasonable. 300k a month equates to 3.6m a year. As a young you can get a reasonable apartment for 1 to 1.5 million and still have about 2m to play with.

What this people won't tell you is that that 150 has a lot of baggages but sell picture of paradise to unsuspecting victims.
I know that 8k is a lot of money , understand my post first .
.... another nonsense talk, the £150 does not have any baggage if you are self employed and pay your own taxes and National Insurance. You are paid 150 a day for 8 hours work end of story, and come to think of it bricklaying is not labourios rather it is monotonous. If you get a contract that run for months you can be making over 3k a month, because that 150 is minimum paid to bricklayers.

In saner climes these people will have been guillotined. Bastards!
