Topson88: Hello, this is my first post on this group. I know a little on stocks. Just an advice for the future, you should place a stop loss on stocks you buy. It saves you from losing so much. I lost about 30 % too, early this year and wished I had learned to use that feature. |

preciousnobel: Just to add, I don't think you should limit yourself based on your thoughts on how competitive PhD applications are. PhD students are mostly known to receive more fully funded offers than Master's degrees. If you're sure about committing to a PhD, then go for it. You could also look at programs which allow their students receive a Master's degree after a few semesters of their PhD program. But like it's been rightly said, you should reach out to professors. 1 Like |

gozmoc8167: Congrats. This link provides ission results to various schools and the profiles of their applicants. https://www.thegradcafe.com/survey/index.php?q=Electrical+engineering&o= You'll have to do most of the researching yourself by searching for professors with similar research interests on the websites of their grad school program. You could simply Google search "US professors + your research interest". Also you could current research students of these profs (you might also find this on the program's website) via platforms like LinkedIn to know if there are available positions in their labs. Wishing you the best. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

jonsnow92: It's great that you have a sponsor. As per your first question: it would depend on the school you're applying to. I know from the past that writing these standardized exams gives the applicant some advantage especially regarding funding (would help reduce the cost for your sponsor). Regarding your second request: the best person to research schools for you would be you, because you know what you're most interested. My advice is to search for profs with similar research interests on the different programs' websites. You could start by searching "US professors with ...... research" on search engines and/or even checking out authors of publications of interest and their personal websites. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Nigol: I don't think you're not late. Many Fall 2022 applications would begin next month and end in December (for funding consideration). Prepping for GRE and TOEFL could average 4 months. You've just got a tight window, but it's possible. 4 Likes |

spiffy204: Before the deadline for funding consideration, which is mostly in December. But it's advisable to write it much earlier to allow you have ample time to rewrite it if you think it's necessary. 4 Likes |

Yes, that's very possible. But I would advice that you check your intended program's website to know their requirements. |

Dpsi: Hi Dpsi, The answers to the first two questions would depend on the ission requirements of the school and program you are applying to. You should find this info on their websites or by ing the graduate coordinator. Not sure I can help with the other questions. I wish you the best! 1 Like |

Youngbankee: You don't have to start your application process with these schools. Your personal details would be on the score sheet when submitted, so the issions/graduate school office would be able to sort this out when it's time for reviews. You might already know this, but you may need to have their GRE score submission codes in hand on the day of your exam. Those should be on their websites. I wish you the best!! 5 Likes |

Tunderep1: It seems you've been itted. That's the only reason why I feel you'll receive a student ID. You should check your application status for an ission letter. If you've been itted, you should reach out to the grad coord regarding their timeline for funding decisions ( details on the application portal). 1 Like |
