BascoVanVeli: Good job. However, you may need to redo the commentary as you repeatedly called our opponents Botswana instead of South Africa. 1 Like |

Goke7: You are being disingenuous with your comments. Pray tell how is opining that Chelle should be rewarded IF WE QUALIFY creating unnecessary expectations, calling for his sack and not allowing him to settle into his job? |

Goke7: Read again, I said if Chelle qualifies us for the WC. Yes, national honour and citizenship as a way of rewarding him if he achieves that feat cos it's a daunting and almost impossible task. 4 Likes 1 Share |

opes: My bad, you're right. The WC and AFCON qualifiers are being played at the same period, and with the same opponents, hence the mix-up. |
![]() |
opes: This style of play requires pressing hard from the front, in attack and in midfield, and playing a high-backline with offside traps like Barca does. The issue with this is we don't set offside traps very well and haven't perfected those tactics. Furthermore, relying on offside tactics at the back could prove disastrous in the absence of VAR review because an offside goal may be scored against us if Referee & Linesman "sojinu' (Drogba's goal for CIV against Nigeria in the 2006 AFCON semi-final comes to mind. We have been extremely unlucky without the VAR in this WC Qualifier. If VAR was being used, we'll have gotten 3 points from Rwanda for Lookman's goal and perhaps another 3 points from SA for the foul on Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and our standing in the group would have been different. If Chelle qualifies us for the World Cup, he should be given OON national honour and immediate Nigerian citizenship, with an improved contract covering the next 2 AFCONS after this year's. 2 Likes |

From that legal document,,Senator Natasha was awarded a 7 billion Naira contract in 2018 by NDDC to build an ICT Hub in Akwa Ibom Akwa-Ibom? same state as Akpabio. Seems too coincidental to me. Whether Akpabio was NDDC chairman or not then, there's no way she wouldn't have crossed path with him when she dey pursue that contract. Seems to me like Akpabio and Natasha have history together, and that emboldened him to call her at those odd hours if her claims are true. I wonder what and where it went wrong. Make I keep the rest for my mind. 7 Likes 1 Share |

It's a solid provisional list, not gonna lie. Glad for Igoh Ogbu, Chrisantus Uche, Tolu Arokodare, Chidera Ejuke and Akor Adams inclusion. I hope they make the final list. I'm gutted by the exclusion of Olisa Ndah who I consider Nigeria's best-ball playing, press-resistant and versatile defender as he can play any position in a back four or three. Overall, a good provisional list 2 Likes 1 Share |

BlueRayDick: E good as you abandon ship. Nothing dey academics in Naija. The poor remuneration + non payment of certain earned allowances is the major reason why ASUU always embark on strike but they mask it with revitalization of universities and fighting for the survival of public universities system bla bla. Also, it doesn't help that promotion in academia is based solely on publications., hence the aphorism, "publish or perish" You go do research finish, go through the rigour of writing the paper and still have to dole out 200k to a journal to publish it? On top your chikena salary which is not even enough to attend to your family responsibilities. Whatsapp & telegram groups have sprung up where people their papers and seek financial collaborators whose name are added as co-authors to publish a paper. They these co-authorship slots from 20k - 50k depending on the amount required by the journal. I know someone, a non teaching staff who did a transfer of service from a Federal university to NIMASA in 2023. He was placed on the same level 12/3 he was in the university but guess what, his salary jumped from 300k/month to 2.2m/month. The reason being that NIMASA is a revenue generating agency and they're allowed to fix their salaries. Dude is now financially stable, and has copped a 2010 Toyota Sienna. The only good thing about about academia is the job security it provides. As regards buying decent cars from that salary , except there are other allowances like bulky upfront/housing package , children education allowance , hefty Cost of living Allowance (COLA ) , etc which is separate from the annual consolidated pay of N7.5m ; the GT will not be able to buy decent Tokunbo cars from that salary o. Go out and touch grass. The ride must not necessarily be a Tokunbo. People dey japa and sell their good rides to raise money. Any GT wey plan well go cop ride on that salary 1 Like |

BlueRayDick: Not bad at all. In comparison, a professor at bar earns about 550k/month after deductions. That's about 6.6m per annum. It's the reason they all justle and go to any length to be appointed VC's cos their takehome soars to about 5m/month. I want to believe NNPC has staff cooperative and credit facilities at discounted annual interest rates. Any serious GT will buy a decent car in 2 years with that salary, especially those outside Lagos and Abuja. |

Importers Fret as Dangote reduces Petrol Prices Again. Someone should explain to me like a baby on this Dangote vs Independent Fuel Marketers importation issue. Why dont 'the IFM buy directly from Dangote? Why are they importing fuel from thousand of miles with all the additional costs? Isn't it cheaper and more profitable to buy directly from Dangote who refines locally? Does it make sense to import when Dangote has deep pockets and can undercut their prices and make them incur losses? If I'm not mistaken, this is the 2nd time Dangote has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of his petrol, and each time the IPM complain of unfair tactics, and selling at a loss. I understand monopoly is bad, the competition has kept the prices relatively stable, but is there more to it? |

Japa no easy like that Most times the beneficiaries of these schemes are made to sign bonds with the state governments to return and serve the state for a number of years. The state governments also ensure that their transcripts and degree certificates are not issued to the students but the state government. That's how some states go about it |

Aseju ni scholarship. Was the girl deserving of the expulsion, emphatically YES. She went berserk and physically assaulted the lecturer. She exhibited poor impulse control, uncontrollable emotional outbursts and extreme anger issues. I absolutely condemn her behaviour and I'm of the opinion she needs anger and behavioural therapy for these issues, and not a scholarship. Hindsight is 20/20 but the lecturer too could have ed through in another way. Rather than touch her back, he should have walked up to her, stood his ground and told her in a firm and authoritative tone, "Excuse me young lady, you're obstructing my path" and the girl would have been so apologetic and be like "Oh I'm so sorry sir, I didn't see you coming" and scurried away. Additionally, he could have also used that opportunity to instruct her not to shoot videos in that particular place because it's an office corridor. Na wetin me for do be that. Anyway, what's done is done. Everybody go dey alright at the end. As it stands. only a private university and universities abroad can graduate her. 1 Like |

https://nairaland.unblockandhide.com/8344327/disregard-malicious-allegations-canada-visa Na normal thing. I wonder what you'll say when you learn that politicians; Senators, HOR , sports commissioners, deputy governors, governors etc are always included in the NFF/Sports Ministry delegation accompanying the Super Eagles and other National footballs team squads to prosecute matches outside the shores of Nigeria. Nigeria is a really weird place. 1 Like |
