Ok bro.

I'll be attending a conference in by November, a certain percentage of the financial aspect will be shouldered by by employer, while I handle the remaining part.

The problem is that I spoke with my HR and it was agreed that I will be issued the following documents

A Board Resolution
A No Objection Certificate
Recommendation Letter
Company Tax Cert
A Letter from my Line Manager

The problem is that I won't be getting the company's Statement. Infact i was told not to even mention it.

Second problem is that for personal reasons, I do not want to use my salary (this is my main ) although I was told that they may not ask at the embassy as far as the company states that they are the ones sponsoring my trip. My HR has agreed to write in the NOC that the company is footing the bill's 100%.

Please take a look at both issues raised and advice me know how I can work around them.

Thanks man.

No serious solid company would give you their statement. The documents they have given you is all you need. If in the introduction letter, your company is writing that they are footing the entire bill (and they are ready to still say that when the embassy s them for verification), then you are good to go.

Attach your salary bank statement, that’s one of the strongest documents to prove that you indeed have ties with this company that wants to sponsor you.

Thanks samreinvented once again.

I collected my original documents on Monday at the dhl office and mail has been sent to the embassy on my behalf for an earlier appointment date, I'm yet to hear from the embassy.

But I want to ask one more question.
While filling the application form I included my middle name too not knowing it's (former surname) that should be there, which I don't have any.
Should I just ignore it or fill another form?
If I fill another form will the previous one be automatically erased from their system?

I don't want to make any mistake concerning the whole process.
Thanks as I await your response.

The embassy will not give you any early appointment, if you don’t have one at all already. Also, the earlier your original appointment, the higher the chance of getting even earlier appointment. That’s why I asked you before to choose whatever date you find on their website and then tell your inviting company to mail the embassy on your behalf. The embassy will most likely not grant an early appointment based on the email you send to them as an individual (they’d just tell you none is available). But an email or call from the German company inviting you will carry heavier weight and will most probably give a positive result.

On the name.... whatever name you fill should conform with what is on your port. If there’s a discrepancy with some of the other documents, you’d need an affidavit.

Thanks man.
I was able to fill the application form.
But I couldn't book an appointment, I woke up 12am and the only available date seen is Oct. 25th and the course I'm going for starts early October.
Please what else can be done to get an early date, i really like to get appointment date this August or early September at most

You should’ve booked that date and then asked the German institution to mail the embassy and request for an earlier date on your behalf (hoping for the best). Your appointment will only keep shifting further if you don’t book an available date on time. You won’t find an earlier date from what you have seen.

Thanks once again for your help.
I have ed the organiser and they said the original documents will be sent today or tomorrow, they even suggested I proceed to book an appointment.
When I tried to book an appointment, it was telling me no available date, I learnt from the thread to check at midnight to get a date which I plan to do.
But my question now is:
1. Is it after booking appointment I'm going to fill the application form to print two copies?
2. Or I must fill the application form before booking appointment? Because I can't find the application form on their website.
Thanks in anticipation for your response.
You can fill the form any time. The link to fill the form is on their website...check very well.

Good day,
I need help in booking for VISA interview appointment with consulate General in Lagos.
I want to attend a training in Berlin to enable my career in my company by 7 October, 2019. I've been trying to book appointment on their site as pasted in the above message but all days and months prior to the training date has been occupied. I would like to know if anyone can help me out on this as I've exhausted all options available within my reach.
Anticipating for quick response.
Warm Regards to you all.

Check around midnight. They open it up everyday at midnight, so if you get on the portal early enough, you’d get a date.

Good day everyone.
Thanks all for sharing your info on this thread, have read from page one till now and have learnt a lot.
However I need help from gurus in the house. I just won a fellowship scholarship award fully sponsored by UNESCO and the German government for a short course at one university in Dresden for a month in October. I'm expecting all the original copies of the documents (award letter, flight itinerary, health issuance etc) from them as stated in the email I received.
My questions now is
1. What type of visa will I apply for?
2. Can i start to fill the application form and book appointment while still expecting the original documents?
3. How fast can I get an appointed date, is August possible?
Thanks in anticipation for you answers

1. Visit visa
2. If you know exactly when your document would arrive, book your appointment. If not, don't take the risk as you may not be able to book another appointment in the next 3 months if you miss your original appointment.
3. You can check the german website yourself to see the available dates.

Not all case if you have been refused with another schengen zone not more than 6months German embassy will return it in next 7days with same result....

What do you mean?

NB:When I said "not complicated", it doesn't necessarily mean that you'd get visa. A non-complicated application is one that is a very clear Yes or No. A complicated one, is one that needs extra document verifications (if the authenticity of your documents can't be easily verified) or deeper background/security/criminal checks (most especially if they spot a lie/misrepresentation in your application), etc.

It will be delivered on monday, i hope the reply will be good.
Y was it so fast?

If your app is not a complicated case, usually responds within 8 days. All my 3 visas from have been issued in exactly 7 days. So, it’s not a bad sign.

May I ask the last time you visited the Embassy?

What you stated is exactly how it was, my first interview alone I could sense they noted their observation, my next same, the interview with my husband same (note my husband had no prior travel history) infact the lady then didnt want to take much documents at all, she took time to look at our wedding photobook and I could visibly see she was noting down her observation and we got the Visa.

I am telling you categorically that it now different, they have absolutely no influence over the decision because i told the lady that interviewed us to look at the family photobook i brought (all our kids dedication, my kids birthday, preggy photoshoot, our Dubai trip etc, where my cousin clearly was there and most where just us alone (family) pics like the kids birthdays)

We have visited Dubai together as a family but I didnt go with our boarding es and the port was an old one, I was banking on the fact that she will see all the photobooks and make her observation (I was sooo wrong)

So my advice still states that you prepare for the interview/questions but most importantly outline and arrange your documents properly, provide all that you would if applying for UK or Canada as the decision if Visa will be issued lies on the German Consulars who are not present at the interview but will decide based on documents made available to them.

Thank you.

Any info if appeal is better to be sent via mail? or to the embasy directly?

I renewed my visa earlier in the year. The lady also discarded most of my tie documents (including photos)....but that was mainly because, I already got German visas in previous years and I used them appropriately....so there was less burden to proof that I will not return (I got 3 years multiple entries btw).

NB: In the midst of some jokes she cracked, she actually stated that family photos carry minimal weight anyway and I shouldn't still be bringing such "useless" things to visa appointments cheesy cheesy. Generally, documents that can be verified with relevant bodies (marriage certificates, birth certificates, t property ownership, t s, call histories, port stamps showing t travels, etc) carry bigger weight in ing your ties with someone than photographs that can be photoshopped and no way to .

With regards to your cousin. How old is she? Does she have personal ties of her own back in Nigeria? If you stated in the interview that you have travelled together several times and the interviewer didn't ask you further questions on that (or did she?) or ask for proofs such as port stamps, it means they don't find that to be good enough reason. So I'd advise looking for other ties for your appeal. However, if she did ask specific documents about your previous trips together and you couldn't provide, then now's the time to add them along with other ties.

In my own opinion, if your only trip together with your cousin is just a single trip to dubai, the tie isn't strong enough. So get other ties (if she has). This is just my opinion though. So goodluck.

Good that they are using Nigerians but the benefit of that is neither here nor there.

I rather talk to someone that will take instant decision on my case. That I need to assure of my intention if need be than submit to someone who makes recommendation to another to take a decision.

Note that you have to book appointment like 3 months ahead. Go for a so called interview and has to wait for another 2 weeks to get the decision.

If you are using Nigerians, train them and empower them to take necessary decision on the application.

It is actually only US (as far as I know) that gives decisions immediately after interviews (which I hear last less than 2 minutes). I find that to be a very flawed (and borderline stupid) system....especially as they don't even check documents (based on what I have read). It explains why a lot of the people they give visas overstay....there's no way any mortal human can possibly make a good judgement in the manner that US conduct its interviews.

Most embassies who conduct interviews do it as part of the overall visa process (other parts being document verification, closer assessment of the application and then final decision). isn't much different and I actually prefer this method because it leaves room for minimal error, as they decide based on both physical interaction and documentation.

The supposed visa officers are there to just collect the visa fee and your documents.
I am not sure they can take any decision on whether to issue a visa or not.
I wonder why not outsource the document collection to a company like VFS instead of subjecting people to come to their embassy.

It is more than just a submission. Those interviewers type their observations and make recommendations to the visa offfice. After verification of your documents, and no issues are found, these recommendations would most likely be the final decision you'd get.

So dont downplay the interviews. Get your appearance and confidence right, and be coherent in your answers, so they wont have reasons to note negative things down for you.

I actually like that uses real Nigerians for Interviews, nobody can judge the intention of Nigerians better than Nigerians. We know our body language better than anyone else, even when masked.

Hello All,

Please i was given an interview date in Abuja just 11 working days from my planned trip. Its official and my office is sponsoring. Please is there any hope of getting the visa on time? Thier mail says visa procesding is 8 - 10 days but others say its 14 working days.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Are you sure what you have in Abuja is a visa interview? Because all visa interviews are conducted in Lagos. Only specific situations are exempted.

As per your question. Mail the embassy and see if they can move your appointment to an earlier date. The German company inviting you should do the mail (to increase the chances of getting positive result), if possible.

What is the Visa fee in naira?
What is the process at the embassy like for business visa applicants?
Thanks.

German visa interview is very friendly. No need to practice anything, just be honest with your mission in (which should be visiting). You should know basic details of your visit (hotels you'll stay, relationship with inviting host, etc). You'd be given time to explain in detail, any unclear info. As long as, you have coherent answers (which you should if your intention is pure), you're good.

House, please like how many hours can one stay in the German embassy for Visa interview?
For a 7.30 am appointment, what possible time can one leave the embassy?

Thank you for your help.
If you have 7:30 interview, prepare to be done around 9am - 9:30 ish. The interview itself lasts about 10 to 30 minutes (depending on your case).... but the other processes and waiting time would take most of the period.

Because i have filled it but when i print it out the question 31a ,b and c are unfilled and i can't find where to fill them in the form to avoid incompleteness. Or is it normal for it to be unfilled.
You can find the form in the image.

Only videx form is allowed. Once you're able to generate the three barcodes and print, you're fine. The blank spaces don't apply to you, that's the reason why they didn't show up while filling your application.

Pls can someone tell me if has provision for long term non resident visa like UK and US. This 21 days visa every time you want to go visiting will be too stressful.

They do. I currently hold 3 years multiple entry German schengen visa. Before this, I had 1 year multiple entry. My very first German visa was for a week. I believe, they usually want you to first prove that you're a legit and law abiding traveller, before giving you long duration visa.

So, if you've had 1 or 2 German visas within a relatively short period and you used them properly....feel free to apply for long duration multiple entry visa, and they'd most probably grant you.

True to suggestion, they open up the portal at close to midnight.
But the earliest date I saw was 3rd September, by which time, the programme I am attending would have ended.

Does anyone here know if there is anything I can do to get an earlier appointment date? Perhaps this June or July?

Ask the inviting German organization to mail the consulate directly, they might be able to get an earlier date for you. Goodluck.

1. There is no interview done, you however must be booked on an appointment to do your biometrics and submit your port at the commercial partner’s office. They inturn will forward your application electronically to the deciding body.
No interview, just appointment and your submitted docs would do the talking for you...

2. You are not going physically to the appointment with the papers except ur submission paper, your checklist, photocopy of your data page and original port..
Every other document of yours that you want to be used in the making of your decision has to be submitted online via the system.
If you do the yourself like many others have done, it would have to be completed before coming for your appointment and submitted. Just make sure everything you want the Visa Officer to use in assessing your application is ed.

3. Old ports would also be part of your documents you might want to show the visa officer including to show any past visas you might have obtained. So yes individuals also include this onto the portal when they are ing their documents.
Basically, everything you feel would your uk visa application has to be ed... Stamped pages or not...

4. It looks as though they are particular on and one’s finances because they feel most applicants lodge sums of money into their s to boost it.
Well in filling your application you would be asked about your income and if you have any other source of income. Be sure to have a verifiable source of income say employment... and then if u claim to also have other sources of income be sure to have proof of that source of income.. even if its a cac document or basically anything.
They don’t accept just anything you write in your application as how you get your money..
you should be able to prove it especially if the statement you would submit would show several deposits as you state.

5... Sir or Ma... i dont know ooo

Thanks a lot for responding.

Wow! Seems most of the info on this thread is a bit old. I didn't know that submission is also done online.

Now to some other big questions. Do I have to scan my documents or I can take clear pictures of them? I also used online application for my Canadian visa and I took pictures and edited them (to crop edges and adjust brightness). Does UK frown on pictures? Also, is there a size limit? I Canada has like 5mb limit, and you have to squeeze and squeeze the size. Finally, do I the files one by one, or I have to merge them into one file?

This their wahala no be here o. It's not like I keep most of the deposits, a lot of the cash still flow out of my ....so not like I'm lodging them for visa application. If it is a regular inflow/outflow, they shouldn't be stressing na. angry angry. If this is a problem, I guess I'd just not use my main .

Thanks a lot for your help once again!

Hello good people,

I want to apply for UK visa for the very first time. I am a frequent traveler and I have been to Canada, South Africa, Israel and 8 EU countries. I still have a valid schengen multiple entry visa. There seems to be peculiarities with UK application and I'd love to get some clarifications.

1. With visa appointments, are interviews done? It seems like there are no interviews, but still I'm not sure....because visa application centres don't normally ask you to book appointments for submissions.
2. During appointment, do I go with both originals and photocopies of documents, or just the photocopies?
3. I also read someone saying that I need to present photocopies of ALL the pages of my previous ports (stamped or not). Is this true and still a thing?
4. I have several s to cater for different income arrangements, but I tend to move most of them into in my main bank , which is what I typically use for my visa applications. This never poses a problem for me. But going through the thread, it seems like UK demands that I must explain every single deposit into my . Is this the case? This would be very difficult as I have tones of such transfers regularly into my , and it would be very silly to start explaining all of my inflows for 6 months. I would like clarification on this part...
5. Finally, is UK visa app generally stricter than Schengen and Canada? Is it easier? Are there peculiar differences that I should note?

Thanks a lot to everyone. God bless you as you respond. embarassed embarassed.

So, basically, throughout your stay in the UK, you DELIBERATELY and consistently disobeyed the rules and laws....and obviously still unrepentant about all you did.

You don't deserve visa to anywhere. Stay in your lawless Lagos and don't add to the number of people making it hard for the law-abiding and well-behaved Nigerian travellers.
