Hello again, So I applied last week for a visit visa online, got my biometrics done after getting the biometrics letter. I eventually got an update on my that reads something along this line: "biometrics not needed for your application, you will receive an update, if this is changed". Is this normal? |

omoba26:hello, sorry about the refusal. how did you apply? Online or paper route? |

CanadianNurse: I see your points. But then i feel they can be tended to easily. For example: i believe ing documents will most probably take the same route (e-mails and phone calls), regardless of where the VO is located. It's not like VOs go about visiting organizations in person just to the documents issued by them. Secondly, just like gcms and CIC, there's probably an "in-house" portal for VOs, where the general trend in each country is ed, as well as the templates for requesting appropriate documents to clarify. Someone also mentioned something along the line "VOs in Ghana can relate with Nigerian environment better". I don't know how valid that view might be, knowing that VOs all over the world are full blood Canadians, and most probably hold similar views. At the end of the day though, it might be true that there's a restriction to how far an application can travel away from its origin. It is also possible that certain VOs choose to treat applications from same set of countries. Anything is possible. |

Austinpee4:I believe application assessment/processing and visa issuance are 2 different things. From what I gathered online, applications are processed all across the world. Even paper applications are scanned by the VFS and placed on some central online portal, to be picked up by a less busy VO, across the world. However, once your app is approved by a VO, the visa will be issued by the appropriate VAC (ie: the one where you submitted your app/ the nearest issuing centre to your country/the centre you selected in your app/ etc). This is based on my reading, no one knows for sure, how the applications are handled. |

Bennycollins: If Nigeria disintegrates peacefully (through talks/referendum), your money is safe. The resulting countries will figure out how to share the debts and pay them. If it is by war, "you have no money", regardless of where you put it...whether it's in treasury bills, or savings , or buried underground; whatever happens to "Naira", as a result of the war will affect your money. 3 Likes |

frenchwine: Please when last did you bid through UBA? What was the rate? Did they allow you to bid in the primary auction like stanbic and GT seem to have been doing? |

HarveySpecter1: I was expecting that reply from a typical Nigerian that can't comprehend a post of few paragraphs. Welcome ![]() Sorry o, if my telling you that getting quality education and actual professional skills is very important for success in life no matter where you find yourself, is choking you ....biko no vex, you hear? Quickly drink water, make you no choke again... ![]() |

Smartlawyer: Sighs....thank God that you exist! Apparently, people here believe, everyone on a visa thread automatically wants to "escape Nigeria". I've seen someone here accuse another person of lying, just because the said, he is only interested in the Canadian education. I know Nigerians generally have bandwagon mentality, but there's really a lot more you can achieve with a good Canadian MSC/PhD, than just living permanently in Canada. There are multinational companies in Nigeria, Canada and across the world that can give you the expatriate living, especially if you are armed with essential skills, along with your international education. Also, if you have the essential skills, you can easily own a conglomerate in Nigeria. The competition doesn't even exist, as we have very few large local companies. Opportunities abound for success in Nigeria. All you need do is, create a business to fix one of the numerous problems that we have. Only that, the professional skills have to be there for you to achieve anything. It's not a coincidence that Nigeria is currently experiencing influx of highly qualified returnees in virtually every sector. Kene Mparu of Film house cinemas resigned as executive director of Odeon cinemas (the largest cinema chain in uk and probably europe) to start out his own cinema chain in Nigeria. Mo Abudu graduated from top schools abroad, but now she's raking in box office figures of her films, and owns one of the biggest TV stations in Africa. SKILL. Nollywood, oil, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, etc are all being bombarded by foreign educated people, and all people on nairaland want is a Canadian PR? People even cancelling their issions after PR, because they are more attracted to "hustling".... Nawa. When in the Next ten years, Forbes list is dominated by returnees and IJGBs, Nigerians will come and be complaining about some inexistent imperialism and partiality. After my visit to Canada this year and I get a good feel of the country, it is possible that I will get my MBA there. But it is majorly because I want the qualification, the education, and most importantly, to boost my competitiveness in the company I work at the moment. Yea, living in Canada is cool and all, but I'm more interested in eventually heading the worldwide operations of the company I work now. My next promotion will have me transferred out of the country anyway. Canadian PR is very good too, and i'm not even against trying to get one (if you're genuinely qualified), if you really fancy living in Canada or even just for the sake of it. It is also an important decision, if you want to get jobs in Canadian companies operating in areas of your interest, so you can build your professional skills. Canadian PR is not bad at all, but I just want to clarify that, living in canada all the rest of your life is not the only vision to a "better life". And seriously, if you find it hard to compete against the overwhelmingly half baked people all over Nigeria, I doubt you'll find it easier living in Canada or any other developed country; largely filled with highly qualified people, and there's stiff competition everywhere. Well, except you want to go to Canada just for the spectacle. You know, to count the speed trains and assess the beautiful boulevards, and hitech buildings ![]() No one should get me wrong this time, cos I still won't give replies to expantiate or explain my points. A word is enough, they say. 13 Likes |

willyboss: This evidence that you submitted, does it include the following? Prove of registration and legal operation (CAC certificate, tax clearance, etc); a legal document that establishes your claim of partnership, clearly defining your stake in the business; the company's statement of , to represent the size of it and its worth. If not, what exactly are the evidence that you submitted? |

Arcayo: I just want to say that, behaviours such as this from Nigerians is what eventually complicates issues for other Nigerians. An increase in cases of Nigerians cancelling their schooling after getting PR for example, will only lead to an increased difficulty for Nigerians on student visas to get PR approval. Just see what has happened with TRVs, waiting long months when other nationals get their visas in days. We really should do better. Even if we know we are not genuine, we should try not to do things that will make our ingenuity obvious enough to jeopardize future chances of our Nigerian fellows, or even future generations. Congrats all the same bro. 4 Likes |

nnwanguma: It was specifically written on their website that all the questions must be completely answered. Infact, they suggested that one should additional form for the appropriate section, if the space provided can't contain all the necessary declarations that is required. They also said, not totally answering the questions might lead to refusal. "Etc" is definitely very inappropriate and ticked off the vo. Just reapply, filling the form properly, and then briefly explaining and itting your mistake in this one. Goodluck to you. 1 Like |

jayfierce:Thank you for your reply. What kind of information is contained in the survey documents you submitted? R of O, just like C of O, only contain information on the purchase (lease actually) of a land, for a stipulated period of time (the typical year is 99 years, and that's what is on my documents); it indicates the amount paid, the size of the land, and the type of development they have been approved for (in my case, all residential). I got info on the student visa thread that I should attach the building plans, and I think that's what I'll do. Another told me to get valuers, but that will take few weeks to be over and properly documented. I don't have that time. |

Hello gurus in the house, I have a bit of an issue that I'd like to clarify. I am applying for a visit visa, but the help i need cuts across. So, I have three landed properties that I want to declare in my application for home ties. One of the property is a completed 5 bedroom bungalow with a 2 bedroom boys quarters under construction at the back of it. The second property is a three bedroom bungalow at roofing level. The third is an undeveloped land. The issue is, I have R of O for all the properties, but how will the vo know that 2 of the properties are worth more than just a land? Do I need to take pictures of the sites (someone said pictures are no longer allowed) or the information on the structures erected on the lands are not necessary? Please those who have submitted landed documents, how did you do it?

This Alikote still doesn't get that people "investing" in tb mostly see it as a more profitable savings . Most tb buyers have their businesses or regular jobs, they only put their idle profits/savings/salaries/etc in tb, instead of a regular savings that wont yield any significant interest.
