KarlTom: the purchase document shared when the news broke specifically has a condition that stated that value at negotiation (Dec 2023) would be maintained. so how is value created after 2023 should be there concern. i beg i no get strength, i never chop or you go buy lunch for me like i said i don face front |

Sunrisepebble: How can new owners want to preserve the cash of a company that they are yet to own, which they negotiated at 2023 value and then because of that want to partake/ share in profit made in 2024 when they are yet to pay/take over? it is only here that such happenssssss i beg make i face front 1 Like |

Streetinvestor2: Very apt. if you coming from zero and you get to 1 that is 100% gain though in absolute term it might look very small (base effect) Wale is actually betting on the performance of the coy going forward. my reading is that tranche 1 wont be distributed until after June 30th (meaning distribution would be same 1 for 12) while tranche 2 of part 1 might not be distributed until end of FY 2025 hence each distribution would be acting like a dividend and will be timed to coincide with release of result. hmmmmmmm. nosa2: hmmmmm Incredibly daft economic/ monetary policies, (this is an ongoing target and may never be met, even the Feds/BOE are sometimes wrong) insecurity in the country, (50/50, while in my opinion this is not deteriorating further than it was 6 yerars ago, it has also not appreciate better than it, we have just learn to kind of live with it) COVID (resolved) high rates in other countries. (moving target but easing compared to previous years) overall ambivalent meaning we might still need to tarry a little (kind if medium term) if there would be any correction to this anomaly/mispricing 2 Likes |

emmanuelewumi: and they can be for longerrrrrrrrrrrrrrr what i would want to tease out of this discourse is what are the triggers to look out for that would help correct this anomaly/mispricing. or what are the drivers/ factors that brought the said situation (anomaly/mispricing) 6 years ago? ? ? ? ? ? 1 Like |

ositadima1: Emma's comments were also helpful to some during the period at least it would have triggered some people who understand that it is their own PERSONAL money they are staking to do some research and come to their own conclusion if they were DILIGENT enough. Having said that i made a treatise on promotion of own views some few months ago (see my response to Oga Karl around October 24th) which were my own personal conviction of operating in public spaces. Conclusively, OJT also didn't help during those period because he wasn't communicating to the public (minorities holders) clearly enough of the real challenges coupled with the fact that his cowboyish antecedent of acquiring Unipetrol was still a bitter taste in the mouth to some establishment people and the fact that around the same time he was disposing off some good numbers of Oando subsidiaries then (apparently in hindsight now was to pay down on some of the obligations on the same conoco deal that had hook him in the throat). But in this particular case my personal reading of the issues is that he was fair enough (though could still have been better). Selah 3 Likes |

ositadima1: Going by above explanation, i think OJT was fair in this particular case and it is just fair to mention same i this period (Ansbury) very well. he was particularly fighting an existential threat then. he got money from Ansbury (i think Volpi) and Mangal to conclude the Conoco deal then. Unfortunately after conclusion price of oil went drastically down along with all projections on which the conoco deal was done hence he couldnt repay. Volpi and Mangal want their money back or take over the company. i think the aftermath was the loan which led to the current share repayment/ bonus 5 Likes 2 Shares |

yMcy56: Ohhh ok. Thank you very much. It is much clearer now. O & O wants to settle some of its debt with part of their holdings in Oando then those shares would be distributed to other shareholders A very ingenious and creative scheme. If O & O bought those shares in the days of sub 10/20 ( which i very much suspect) then its a win win for all sides, i.e. O &O, minority holders and the coy (Oando) itself. The losers are those shareholders that O & O bought from, because technical it is the gain they couldn't wait to collect that is being shared by all other parties. 1 Like 1 Share |
