Nothing wrong with celebrating with a year-end party, even if they choose a high-profile artist.

Their positive spirits indicate they've overcome challenges and are optimistic about the future.
Holding parties to celebrate and paying artistes with shareholders money when the shareholders have not been paid a dime as dividend for a decade, and are dying of hunger? A company ridden with huge debts and struggling to stay afloat?

Such parties should be held when the company is experiencing good tidings and shareholders and key stakeholders have been taken care of and are happy.

The people in MBENEFIT still has some chances. The people that bought unity are about to learn the hard way.The share reconstruction in favour of the new owners go make thr holdings value be like tissue paper. Some bought stock fish because of noise on this thread. You went to buy a dead business that has been on life from cbn because you want to gamble with your money. We they wait to see the ratio.

Dividend analysis: These appear to be the top dividend payers. Look at the dividend yield and the projected yield, assuming a 30% increase in dividend payouts. They are far below the returns from bonds and treasury bills if purchased today. I anticipate we will see corrections, as I don’t foresee prices rising significantly in the near future unless we’re surprised by a substantial dividend increase. Of course, this is purely a dividend analysis.

do u mean u are expecting price to drop so yield could get nearer to / equal bonds and treasury bills yield?

I think so. To move a stock, you need willingness from both buyers and sellers, not necessarily the volume traded. Many stocks trade over 1 billion Naira in a day, yet their prices don’t move. You may see value, but if the market doesn’t anticipate short-term gains, it struggles to react. I believe that if treasury bills and bonds were yielding significantly less than dividends, we would have seen a strong bull market. Just my opinion though—some stocks don’t follow this pattern sha.

For those in Aradel. This gives an idea to the kind of money SPDC are making. Found this in Shell’s report on payment to Governments in 2023.
SPDC paid for the year:
$151m in taxes
$274mn in Royalties
$115mn in fees

Still yet to confirm what % shareholding Aradel has in the consortium

Not just bad; it is very unethical, unprofessional, insensitive, and stupid (pardon my English).
That is why they made sure the AGM was held before the nonsense party in order to avoid criticisms at the AGM. But they must be called out at the next AGM

Shareholders are not the only stakeholders in Oando. The staff who create the value we all enjoy are also critical stakeholders that have worked very hard in the year and deserve their usual Christmas parry.

Christmas party is not for shareholders but for Oando staff. It's attending AGM and any snacks shared there that is for we shareholders when it comes to parry and merriment grin .

Xmas party can be held in a modest way just like other companies. They don't even need to invite any artiste to have Xmas party.
What is the essence of inviting and paying huge sums to 3 artistes when your shareholders are struggling and the company is hugely debt ridden? How many companies did you see or hear that they paid 3 expensive artistes for Xmas party? Will you do thst if your own company is strugling to survive?
Stakeholders like banks and creditors are also there.
We just read a few days ago how Otedola reacted when FBN held a lavish party for a retiring director.

Well stated, a company deeply rooted in debt like Oando has no business throwing a lavish end of the year party.

What I found concerning is that the shareholders approved such reckless spending and the behaviour is also being defended by some of this forum

It seems that the average Nigerian adopts an hypocritical approach to everything, hence they can’t see anything wrong with their favourite stock 😔

Oando needs to celebrate the big achievements it has made this year with the successful acquisition of NAOC assets with workers. The bigger Oando work force (ex NAOC & old Oando) need morale boosters of belonging to a great BIG Oando to ginger them to do exploits of restoration of assets to top notch production performance.

Abeg the staff needs the party to keep their spirits high to rev up production safely while thinking out of the box and enjoying their team working that will surely deliver results.

What you need is to get your snacks at the AGM grin.

I blvd there are various sections in Ñairaland..
You guys can pls take this party or celebrity talks to the appropriate thread or section.

OANDO is not the only stock in NGX!!

Highest, take your venting to OANDO office or write a stinker to Wale.

Someone already explained about the allocation of 1% on yearly basis for celebrating Christmas and all that........Yet you won't allow us hear words or discuss better opportunities for here.....kilode!

Small time now, you'll say Mcy is against your posts... once it's monotonous and irrelevant, why won't person talk?
What has all these your online complaints changed by the way?
Here is not a WhatsApp chat group!

My brother, the executive recklessness is so sickening with these people.
I struggle to see such justification no matter how much explanation I have read about it.
I was so impressed when I read about Otedola’s reaction to that of FBN. And he is a billionaire oh.
I mean, you can still have a very good party without those wastages.

It's not accurate. you have to factor-in the bonus issue of 2 for 1.

UCAP is one of the best performing stocks for 2024.

Multiply the share price by 3 to get the share price pre-bonus.

Jan 2nd - opened N23, Today closed (N19x3=N57)

YTD: 147.8%

Thanks for breaking it down. StockBubbles relies on NGX data for accuracy. If the NGX hasn't ed for the bonus issue, it won't be reflected on StockBubbles. I'd flag this up. Thanks again

Let Davido, Wizkid and Burna Boy collect some oil money joor. And let the staff parry free with the stars and rejoice for the year's successes. Tony also posted some of his UBA Christmas party pictures online.

Go get your snacks at the AGM grin.

By the way Wale & Management should sell the shares of the debtor to better investors at +N100 and use the proceeds to boost SHF into positive territory while distributing the remaining cash to shareholders to do whatever they choose to do with.

Thanks for dropping this update.
I use Trading 212 for foreign stocks and have been going on without a thought of searching for the London listed Seplat until you mentioned it.
It closed at p200 today.
I’m seeing the following metrics:
Mkt cap $1.18B
Revenue $1.06B
EPS $0.14
PE ratio: 18.44
Not sure if data is YTD or YoY, but it’s looking decent.

Great job you are doing my brother.
Just dont rely on NGX Api alone in doing analysis, as rightly said, some stocks were wrong analysed in YTD growth, because they didnt factor stock reconstructions done in stocks like transcorp and ucap. this wrong reports are even on mainstream business news platform. thats where you come in, in giving reliable data, there is so much market for you bro, abeg helps us. kudos once again

For the ytd records, you are meant to change the beginning price by factoring the total O/S after reconstruction.

so for example, ucap; simply delete the 2 new shares added, i.e today's price of ucap at 19x3 = 57
.
