You took that picture with an itel phone, which could mean you're still probably struggling to make ends meet, how then would it be possible to feed this bird when you can't even eat proper balanced meal.
So using an itel phone is equivalent to being poor??
Good grief!!
The fact that nairaland is a faceless forum doesn't mean we can just come out and type anything we feel like

Wait stated explicitly that they should seek medical help? Or the D is silent 😶

Yeye, claiming MTN Glo, Airtel is giving you satisfactory service in Nigeria in 2024. Where be your location sef? Na heaven?
I'm in ikotun and Airtel is super fast.
Even when I'm in Abuja the network is sweet, but when I get to Karu (home) I have to switch to 3G to get the best of it.

30gb ROM for a laptop? That's laughable. My phone has 256gb ROM in addition to 8gb RAM
Chromebooks are not like windows laptops. They have their own use and they utilize more of cloud storage. That's why it's used mainly in schools and small business enterprises. Their apps are also web based too.
A Chromebook is not for you if you want a gaming or programming laptop.

Na only for north and some part of the south you'll see apprentice learning medicine and surgery as if they are learning tailoring or hairdressing.... After learning under a medical doctor for like 4 years then they'll go to one college of health or sch of health tech to do two years community health science get a licence and start operating people anyhow
And d funny thing is dat most of them carry out surgical operation and CS successful
Lol 🤣
Dem plenty for Kwara state... Especially the rural part of ilorin.

The Turaki of their land was married to a Christian, she died a Christian, it might not be in this article but we all know..
All this forbidden thier daughters from getting married to other religion is high time they need to wise up and put an end to it.
Saraki is not from ilorin

What did you want the hospital to do when he refused Cs and even had provided a lasting power of attorney stating his disapproval for Cs. Tell me what the hospital should have done.
I don't think he refused CS, he knew there was a risk of macrosomia.
Well, what do I know??

no be only disciplinary action. CS without blood transfusion? How is that possible?
Seems u are a witness or u don't know those guys. People that will be taken to hospital emergency ward with broken bones and blood gushing out and still refuse blood transfusion. Why go to the hospital? They should take them to their kingdom hall for treatment
Yes it's possible, there are blood substitutes everywhere, although expensive....
The fact that they are JW is a risk on its own.
It's just a very sad tale actually

Lagusta my man, longest time,
I think the hospital had the option of referral to another facility at antenatal booking when they (the hospital) knew about their client'' religious inclinination but they chose to take full responsibility.
Haven taken full responsibility one would have expected them to be more proactive and have early recourse to prompt intervention, especially when they had such a client in labour.
With respect to the ultrasound foetal weight estimation of 3.9kg, it may not be a straight forward case to rush for emergency caesarwan section, more so because we were not told the birth weight of the first child.
Even though we are more inclined towards safe obstetric practices, some people will still go ahead and induce a 3.9kg foetus especially if the woman had delivered 3.9kg or more in the past.
Every pregnancy should however, be treated differently
Reporting the case to MDCN is good but he should be ready to prove there was negligence and that such negligence resulted to the harm done to him and his family.
A woman is not supposed to lose her life while giving life to another being, it is even more heart breaking to lose both mother and baby at same time. So sad
My brother!!!
You are spot on actually...
This is quite a sad story indeed.....
I just pray God grants him lots of strength at this time
Gosh!! Losing both mother and baby all at once

seborrhic:
Unfortunate series of events, but what I find troubling and suspicio in his narrative of events is this:if your wife was not contracting after rupture of the membranes, what the hospital did was what any other standard facility would do,they started with cytotec,at the lowest dose recommended, repeated when there was still no noticeable contraction, then scaled up to oxytocin.
The one issue I found with the Hospital management is that they would have exhausted the full 4 dose regimen of cytorec before starting with oxytocin.
The problem with dealing with men like this that feel they know it all from what they read is that you must play everything by the book,if not they would use one issue as being the cause of a mishap.
All these things he mentioned, paediatrician being present, physician, using infusion pump, pantograph,CTG monitor, etc, even in advanced countries they are not as it's made out to be where all these personnel and instruments would be available.
I bet if he had been told from the onset that his wife needed to be sectioned,he would have blatantly refused and told them to exhaust every other means.
But here he is finding fault with every step taken.
It's sad he has lost both wife and child, but finding fault with every step is just ridiculous.
His wife came by 11am with no issues, was he expecting the consultant to be on ground monitoring an expected uneventful labour?
Let the hospital say it's own side of the story.
Mishaps happen all over the world and there is no where every case is done by the book.
It's sad and may God granted him the fortitude to bear the loss.
No, I disagree
The woman is multigravid, ruptured membrane over 12hrs ago, and has suspected macrosomia
A CS would have saved lives.
It was very clear the woman had uterine rupture, low BP with tachycardia were clear evidences of hypovolemic shock!!
May Nigeria never destroy us

Hmmmmmmmm
This is a sad story indeed
Well, as a doctor, I have these points to drop
1. As a JW, he has the full right to reject anything blood, but he can still perform surgeries on his wife and allow blood substitutes like tothema
2. The so-called Gynecologist/obstetrician made some errors. Pre-labour rupture of membranes in a multigravid without any obvious sign of contraction, with an estimated birth weight of 3.9kg is a very clear indication of CS until proven otherwise. I am not a gynae bit I have entered theatre many times so I know this.
3. Never mess with medical personnel. Some of them DO know their onions. This anaesthetist nurse knows the fulk BLS protocol of resuscitation.
4. It's so painful that this young man lost both mother and baby on the same day. R-jolad should really scrutinize the kind of medical practitioners they employ. The bereaved should take the matter to MDCN disciplinary committee for further action.
5. May God comfort the bereaved. Ọmọ this one hit home
