Were you able to have any headway with the expedited request....

Which of the EBs did you get approved for? from my research it seems that expedited request is not common with EB2-NIW. ... the option is more common for family- based immigrant visa and EB3 health workers....Please update us if you find any useful information on it.

Also, please I am currently collating my documents to send to NVC ... I would appreciate any tip/advice to ensure smooth sailing.

I'm on EB2-NIW. I haven't gotten any headway with an expedite. The requirements for expedite seem a bit more difficult to justify with a self-petition. I'm open to advice on how to proceed with this...

With the NVC docs, it is best to double check the requirements before submission so that NVC doesn't request for additional information. For example, I had to submit the police clearance twice because I didn't include the fingerprints. That added an extra month before getting DQ.

starlink just updated their webpage. You can now order starlink using Naira at official exchange rate. I have been trying to order but my eco bank and access bank ATM cards have been declining. I don't know why. If anyone succeeds to order using Naira ATM card, please let me know which bank's ATM card you used

You have to order using a dollar card.

We made an expedited request to the NVC and got some ing documents from my wife’s employer. You can search for NVC expedite request on YouTube, you’ll find all the info you need there.

Ok thanks. Will look into it.

Do you have a reliable link to get the attestation by proxy? What is the cost?
Thanks

Please send PM.

Please what do you mean by old birth certificate, what year is the new one?

From 1992. Please go through the DOS website link for Nigeria for the details of requirements.

Thanks for your reply. Regarding documents gathering, for birth certificate, did you submit the old birth certificate or it must be attestation of birth. Thanks

I got an attestation of birth from the National Population Commission. NVC doesn't accept the old birth certificate.

Congratulations and speed for the remaining journey ahead. How long did it take from I-140 approval to DQ? Thanks

It took 5 months from approval to DQ. Initially, it took 2 months for USCIS to send my case to NVC, then 3 months for the NVC DQ process.

For EB categories, you schedule your appointment yourself

I went on the UStraveldocs site to schedule an appointment with my case number but it seems NVC hasn't sent my case to the US Consulate in Lagos.

How did you successfully expedite your case?

Hello everyone.
Just to update and encourage people here.
I just scheduled my visa appointment today and I got an appointment for 9th of March. It’s been almost one year of waiting and I’m glad we finally have an appointment. For anyone that successfully expedited their case to the embassy, please them, they’ll ask you to create a profile and book your appointment yourself. Just keep checking the portal until you get a date. At a point I was checking the portal every 6 hours to see if I can get an appointment. I would literally set alarm for every 6 hours and I’m glad that stage is over now. Best of luck to everyone still waiting for an appointment.

Congrats on getting an appointment date. I've been waiting for an appointment with the US Consulate, Lagos since September. How were you able to expedite on EB? The wait is killing...

Congratulations sir. You're at the final lap of the race. Pre-covid USCIS/NVC was the bottleneck in the process but now the interview date is the bottleneck at least in the case of Nigeria. The wait time is longer than usual but things are catching up. You'll get your last letter, they just follow the FIFO method.

Thanks very much for your encouragement. Now I realize that patience is a virtue.

I don't know what you consider recent sir. Nigerians have never had it better this past year. Generally the num of EB visas issued was double the typical num. I know of a case in Oct and Nov.

That's great to hear. I got DQ in Sept 2022, so was wondering how long I had to wait before getting an IL.

To send cases to NVC, it usually takes about 1 week, max 2 weeks.

For the NVC to create the case in their system, it's currently taking about 1 months as per their time frames below

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html

Has anyone received any invitation letters from the US Consulate in Lagos for the EB category recently? It seems they're issuing letters for IR/CR categories, but I'm not sure about EB. Any information on this will be much appreciated.

Wow!!! Mine was transferred within 2 weeks (3rd of October) but I am yet to hear anything from NVC. Can I NVC??

Here's a link to a website that tracks NVC Case Status.

https://visawhen.com/nvc

It's a good tool to help you determine when to NVC based on averages.

Please do anyone have idea of how many it will take for I-140 petition to get to NVC??

It took my case 2.5 months to be transferred from USCIS to NVC. It typically should take a month, but USCIS forgot to transfer the case until I ed them to find out the status.
