The Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria has kicked against the sale of petroleum products in the Nigerian market in dollars by Dangote Refinery. National President of PETROAN, Billy Gillis-Harry, made this known on Tuesday in a statement. His comment comes as Dangote Refinery on Wednesday last week decided to suspend petroleum product sales in Naira. Dangote Refinery follows the statement in discussion regarding the continuation of the Naira-for-crude sale policy with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited. Reacting, Gillis-Harry said petrol product sales in dollars would have an adverse impact on Nigeria’s economy because they would result in undue pressure on the Naira at the foreign exchange market. He urged the federal government to ensure that all petroleum products sales within the country were done in Naira. “We oppose the sale of petroleum products or any other products within Nigeria in dollars. “We believe that such a practice would have an adverse impact on the economy, bringing undue pressure on foreign currency and exacerbating Nigeria’s already challenging inflationary situation. “We urge the government to ensure that all transactions within the country are conducted in the local currency, the Naira, to protect the economy and the welfare of Nigerians,” he said. He added that the federal government should review and evaluate the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) to examine necessary adjustments that will ensure the Act aligns with the current realities of the petroleum industry. “We believe that a comprehensive review of the PIA will provide opportunities to address emerging challenges, promote investment and enhance the overall efficiency of the petroleum sector. “We also wish to commend the federal government for its commitment to allowing market forces to determine pricing, which encourages healthy competition and prevents the monopoly of any kind. “This approach will ensure that the petroleum market remains competitive, innovative, and responsive to the needs of Nigerians,” he said. Recall that upon the declaration of state of emergency on Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu appointed Ibas to take charge in the troubled state for six months, pending resolution of the political crisis. Fielding questions from reporters shortly after the brief ceremony, Ibas spoke on how he intends to pilot the affairs of the state. “First of all, I think we know the circumstances that led to where we are here. “Mr. President made it very clear in his broadcast, if the main issue is that of maintaining law and order in the state, I think for any meaningful activities to take place in Rivers State, that is the utmost task that I have to work together with all other stakeholders to ensure that we bring peace, order and security and stability to the people and government of River State and Nigeria at large.” Tinubu had cited the protracted political crisis in Rivers State for the decision to impose emergency rule in the state. While the face-off between Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike and Governor Siminalayi Fubara escalated, Tinubu revealed that he felt disturbed and needed to take immediate actions to quell the crisis, which he said was depriving the citizens of Rivers the dividends of democracy. In my own personal opinion, the ritual is like this...the person that do money ritual will have a personal business that he or she is into or doing eg building materials...so after he or she did the money ritual people will be rushing and patronising him and the business will keep moving beyond expectations no matter the way he or she treats the customers they will keep coming and majority of people that will be patronising such will business will be spirits. If people are suspecting that such person are into money ritual some will doubt them and say he has a business that he is into...and such thing is not for businessmen and women alone it is also in politics where some will do fetish things to win many votes and the majority that will votes are spirits so you people will just be wondering how he or she won the election u will not know spirits voted for him...gbam! The secret is here staring at you in the face.

The appellate court also awarded the sum of N100,000 against the Appellant in favour of the Respondents. MC Oluomo was recently elected and sworn in as the National President of the Union. Charles Udeogaranya, former All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, has described President Bola Tinubu’s representation at the Arab-Islamic Summit as a gross violation of the Nigerian Constitution. Vanguard reports that Udeogaranya argued that Nigeria is a secular state, asserting that Tinubu has committed an impeachable offense. According to him, the President swore to uphold the constitution, emphasizing that Nigeria is neither an Arab nation nor an Islamic nation. “To, therefore, unilaterally drag Nigeria into Arab and Islamic nation’s affairs is a grievous disparaging of the Nigerian people and its Constitution,” Udeogaranya said. He further pointed out that Nigeria is predominantly a Christian nation by religion. The former presidential candidate underscored that such blatant disrespect and disregard for Nigeria’s true position on the international stage is most regrettable. He advised the National Assembly to caution the President to avoid such actions, emphasizing that most Nigerians are Christians and that Nigerians firmly Israel in all international matters.
