I have been in the UK for sometime now and the system has totally swallowed me, I feel very depressed and I want to leave permanently. I can only visit but not live there anymore. What’s the possibility.

How is Nigeria at present?

How much do I need to start back?

Honestly, it would be better to use that advantage and relocate to another country in Europe... Just make sure it's another place apart from this continent.

First of all, you need to realise that depression is like body odour. It'll follow you EVERYWHERE you go.

If you feel so depressed that you're already suicidal, you need to get it treated ASAP.

DON'T let your depression push you into making a life-threatening MISTAKE.

TACKLE your depression in UK.
DON'T make any DRASTIC decision until you've done that.

If you think your life is HARD in UK, Nigeria would make it look like a tutorial.

Returning to Nigeria should NEVER be an option unless you are 83 and waiting to DIE.

How does this relate with the commented you quoted?

Why not just ignore the entire thread, instead of making off comments

You are blaming a country for how you feel instead of seeking why you feel how you feel. And you think you can run away from how you feel where you are and it wouldn't follow you where you go.

I tried that once. Ran away from UK to Mexico City only to find I'd packed what I was running from and took it with me. I was on a year contract, so got stuck with it there in a foreign land too.

It was really yuck being irresponsible.

No matter your depression, coming back is a suicide mission.

Most people would choose death by depression than death by Tinubulation

You are struggling with a mental illness and Nigeria is the most rational thing you can think of doing? Ever consider it this way?

2. Why no approach Nigerians there in the UK to ask them these questions or maybe take a test trip to the country and spend about 6 months there before making a final decision on how much you will need, how much you will fit in back there, etc? undecided

Is the UK the reason why you are not living your life? Will Nigeria let you live the life you prefer? undecided

Do you pluck money on trees there? You struggle to get whatever you need, same thing applicable here. If you work, you get money and if you don't, the frustration will still swallow you.

Better system in Nigeria where depressed people are generally looked down upon by family and society? Are you OK?
There's no single cause of depression. It can occur for a variety of reasons and it has many different triggers.

For some people, an upsetting or stressful life event, such as bereavement, divorce, illness, redundancy and job or money worries, can be the cause.
Different causes can often combine to trigger depression. For example, you may feel low after being ill and then experience a traumatic event, such as a bereavement, which brings on depression.

People often talk about a "downward spiral" of events that leads to depression. For example, if your relationship with your partner breaks down, you're likely to feel low, you may stop seeing friends and family and you may start drinking more. All of this can make you feel worse and trigger depression.

Family gives better .

Suicide is rife in UK, especially amongst yourng men.

Loneliness is a great factor in depression.
Being in the midst of family and friends could be a great comfort and therapy for people suffering depression.

You are obviously sick.

People have a better system in Nigeria than they get abroad.

He should go home to enjoy family and friends.

Let him go to his surgery if he would even get paracetamol.

Nonsense.

You need to add some context. What are the issues?
Are you not having enough money?
Are you not having someone to talk to?
Are you tired of your job type?
Is it a health issue with the cold? It's winter so maybe you need more sunlight or vitamin D.

Why tell us on Nairaland. Why not just take the next flight to Nigeria. It’s a 6 hour flight.
