@creamychic, yeah I think you should consider ITIL its not really focused on technical folks. Its really more about understanding SLA and deliverables. What is expected from each tier or level in a organisation.... Could you please share hiwbyour organisation measures KPI of personnel? I believe that is usually a main driver in ensuring quality deliverables. |

lovely17: Sorry again this is a fallacy. You are seen the way you present yourself. Most men flaunt the little change they have because of the perception that women love money.. the real question is who doesn't? I have seen scenarios where a guy meets a lady, asks her out, and the lady says "I am not interested" then he goes out of his way to seduce her with gifts and and all that stuff like the money was forced out of his pocket, later he starts whining that the girl too like money. Please we need to be objective most times jare... |

marvelck: Mr. you are addressed the way you are dressed, was not just coined to ridicule ladies. It applies to everyone as well. First impressions matter a great deal in any endeavour, so when you wear some as.s hugging clothes and wiggle your bum bum around, some crazy fellow is gonna get attracted to whatever you are selling... I once asked a lady why she always wears tight clothes despite knowing that she is heavily endowed, she said "That's what you guys like now" Imagine that response. Most women believe that the only way to attract a man is by being sexy so they would do anything to display their sexy features. The only thing they end up attracting is the man's JT, later they say men are wicked. Most women objectify themselves, we men only call it what it is. |

Creamychic: Welcome to the club. With my introverted personality, I never felt I would love dealing with people that much until now. Maybe it's because of the environment where I work or something, but there is something about being able to help people that keeps me going. As for the challenges, yeah the timing can be awful sometimes, personally my schedule, although not shift based, but is also a bit difficult as I have to work during US Eastern Standard Time. One of the beauty of ing people in my role is, I learn something new each day. Someday we can compare notes on our organisations approach to in line with international best practices. So basically what certifications are you aiming for... Am personally planning to take the ITILv3 Intermediate certifications now. As am working towards a management role. |

Hey guys, I see a lot of thread for different professionals on Nairaland, I believe that we have customer service professionals in the house. Please share your experience, comments and suggestion here. You can simply start by introducing yourself, and the environment you work in, not necessarily your organisation details Like they say, customers are always right. However we at the other end of the phone line know that this is never the case. Whether you're just there to make customers feel better about their day or you're in the technical side of things, I believe we can share ideas and learn from each other as different companies have different standards when it comes to customer satisfaction. Personally I am a Technical engineer with an international software company, and having to deal with customers from a totally different culture has been challenging as well as rewarding. At my company we believe in delivering the WOW Experience, these guys take to a whole new level. Customer managers are also welcome to share their experience on the job and advice on relevant certifications and training. I hope to hear from you guys. |

mavinc4u: Nice observation, @all we should all be careful, scammers are everywhere, both buyers and sellers. Personally I would only do physical deals in a banking hall and if you believe the individual is credible enough. We have legitimate business men here, but we should also put it at the back of our mind that were still in Nigeria and such be very careful by taking all necessary precautions. This is not an accusation, just a hint to prevent story that touch. It will also be nice to indicate those you have successfully dealt with, so we can have more credibility to ourselves... Thanks. 2 Likes 1 Share |

butanep: You are barking up the wrong tree Mr. whoever you are. Seriously you do not want to argue what you have absolutely no idea about. I made a factual statement based on experience and you're here ranting to justify your insecurities. Young man am not here to make you feel good about yourself or your situation, neither am I putting anyone down for not having a Job. All fingers are not equal and can never be. I get the need to encourage yourself and feel good about the certificate you're waving about, but do not for one second believe that I give a hoot about your "victim" mentality. Again back to my first post, since you obviously missed it due to your very myopic view of other people's opinion I did say "MOST". Whether you agree with my assertions or not is again not my problem. When employers say that MOST Nigerian graduates are not employable, they are saying it as it is, irrespective of the cause. This is not an issue for debate. Nobody said they cannot be trained, heck even a dog can be trained, but as a graduate, employers expect you to have a certain level of knowledge and competence before considering you for an offer. Unfortunately either due to our poor educational or infrastructural system or due to whatever reasons under the sun, Nigerian schools fail to produce the human capital that can drive innovation. Yes I was also of the opinion of companies hiring and training staff, until I saw the business side of things, companies are fighting for survival, just as graduates are fighting for survival. Everyone is a victim of the system, so sitting in one corner and sulking because I told you the bitter truth displays traits of Insecurity. @Bolded Well call it trash, but get this clearly, having a third class was the best thing that happened to me ![]() ![]() ![]() My last advice, deal with your insecurities, you sound like an intelligent fellow but your objective reasoning abilities needs some honing. Have a fulfilled day. |

amicable09: Funny lady, Sorry to spoil your mood and all other fellow Nigerian graduates. To be frank nobody is downgrading Nigerian graduates, its the system we found ourselves. That not withstanding like I said on my first post, its a mean statement to make but sadly it's the truth. I am a Nigerian graduate as well from a state university for that matter. However if you get the opportunity to sit on the other side of the table during interviews, you would understand why I said "I tend to agree" with the employers. Sometimes I am too serious for my own good, maybe that's how I manage to motivate myself, all the same, the truth is always bitter. I am still aiming higher, there is nothing like "almighty job" Anyways thanks for forgiving me... Wishing you all the best. 3 Likes |

Brown14: What a WOMAN has to offer you depends on what you need. Let's say a fresh graduate from school, without a source of lively hood and no dime to his name begins dating a lady. At that point what he needs is someone who can encourage him and be his fan at his lowest point. He needs her to believe in him and listen to all his frustrations etc. Sometimes she can help in networking with those she knows to widen his scope, because at that point that's what he needs. That's just one of many scenarios. This is with respect to an ideal situations which is far from what obtains today. I believe in an ideal scenario, what an average lady needs from a man is the same that a man needs from a woman, besides point 2, which usually pisses me off ![]() Instead of ladies seeking guys that will meet all their needs, thereby making themselves look hungry and parasitic, they should seek a man who is responsible. Responsibility is what differentiates men from boys, and no man or even boy is responsible for any lady until she becomes his wife. So in a relationship a lady has nothing to offer except love and affection and encouragement. @Op I hope you're not the type that expect money from ladies.. No offense. 1 Like |

Bigmarx: Do you understand the meaning of the WORD Hypocrite, In what way have I been a hypocrite or practised hypocrisy, when people like you use words out of context it makes assertions of employers hold true. Again, I said MOST, which means a vast majority, it certainly doesn't mean all, again it means that statistically the graduates that are employment ready when they leave the school system are few. Irrespective of what might have resulted in the deplorable state of our educational system that has brought about our inability to leave up to expectations, this does not change the FACT. On your believe that I assumed, I have attended interviews, and also had the opportunity to interview others, I can say for a fact that MAJORITY of students acquired certificates without any form of learning whatsoever. Now back to being hypocritical, I studied in Nigeria, and I didn't even have the opportunity to study in a federal university, I came from a very modest family, plus I graduated with a third class ![]() ![]() Being employable goes beyond your grades it has alot to do with your knowledge and skill set within your chosen niche. Otherwise going by your assertions companies should start employing graduates and training them afresh just because the system is hadicapped. So please KEEP QUIET and stop calling people names you have never met or have no idea who they are. 3 Likes |

While looking for a job can be stressful, you've got to take time out and read the job description, it'll save you a whole lot of headache... First rule is to always read and understand. Anyway na Nigeria we dey, where everyone is looking for a job irrespective of the career path. As funny as this thread is, it exposes the thinking faculty of the average Nigerian graduate, that's why I agree with companies that say most Nigerian graduates are not employable, its a mean statement but sadly it's the truth. 1 Like |

Good topic, one should evaluate the scenario before making such a difficult decision. Am at that point where am asking someone to give up her father's name to bear mine, whatever decisions I take now I have to put my potential family first. I don't believe women should stay at home, to train kids, its both parents job. A man should be equally invested in the lives of his kids, that way both can share the burdens. Yes this is Nigeria, but we are all different and what works for A might backfire on B. I have dreams goals and ambitions, but just because we have a kid doesn't mean wifey should stay at home and not pursue hers, for me it has little to do about the money but more about satisfaction. I want to see her happy, so if pursuing a career makes her happy then I'll it. As long as we both realize that being parents is our topmost responsibility, because after all said and done our kids are an extension of us. In conclusion, I believe the first decision rests with her, then we can consider other possibilities and make informed decisions. NB: Not to put down anybody's opinion, the amount of degrees or certificates shouldn't be the reason why anyone should work, because that means if she hasn't gone to school then she can be a stay at home mum? Weird thinking 8 Likes |
