Everything in that image including the tiles, pop and all that?
Good Morning my oga at the top.
No Sir, . I the Kitchen is quite spacy & the quality of materials we used, hence the price for that particular kitchen. Kitchen size & design matters.
Acrylics or gloss boards are more expensive than ordinary HDF board.

Exactly..
Yes it's better to prevent it.. I also assume every ground is prone to capillary action of water.
I've seen a house built on rocky terrain in Ondo and they still had wall dampness..
Seriously!!?

You are doing well, seen countless examples of these being done overseas.
Is that bitumen?
This issue led me to research all the companies that sell the special chemicals that are used to protect exterior walls. Was surprised to learn that we have them in Nigeria.
All these measures are applied in major construction contracts.
It is homeowners practicing kobo kobo that don't, then later cry about dampness.
I look forward to hearing from you
Can you please share the bolded here, company and chemicals. Am seeking for internal wall 🧱 though.

They ENSURED the building was built to code.
Just as any professionals here would ensure standards are followed even exceeded on their own build/installation.
True 👍

Nigeria is not an earthquake prone country. I don't think our standard buildings are supposed to be earthquake proof. You can only be liable if it is the law that all buildings are earthquake proof. Large parts of Turkey are earthquake prone areas and it is mandatory that houses are built to particular specifications to withstand as much as possible (nothing is 100% full proof) these devastating forces.
Just imagine, if we build houses that are earthquake proof, imagine how solid the structure would stand & how it can withstand harsh conditions. You know, It's not a bad idea to have an earthquake proof house in Nigeria.

Finishing consumes more funds 😭😭😭
External piping is ongoing and some bathroom fittings..
Please after tiling, what comes next?
Skimming or wardrobes?
Do I need to screed the ceiling?
For the exterior walls Graffitex doesn't need screeding right? @ Gbadexy
Not necessary to screed your ceiling, Save cost. A good painting will complete the job.
Graffitex doesn't need screeding.
Goodluck on your project, Ma'am.

Anyone, or recommendation preferably in Abuja into these fluted wall s (Cladding ) at affordable rate?
Below is the design I want to do.
Here is a picture from an old project. Created using Hdf boards. Fluted are easy to install & faster, have used it on various projects, unfortunately lost most of my data (pics & files). FLUTED is more expensive to use though.
I can definitely replicate your design. Am based in lagos, but can work anywhere.

Where else then would your visitor go use a toilet? In your bedroom or the next compound? Maybe throw their waste over the fence?
The visitors toilet can be at entrance of the house, veranda area.

Blocks also come in fixed shape and sizes, but only laid pcs are paid for as long the agreement is per block. Whatever project you are doing, as long as the payment is per square meter, it doesn't matter how much materials eventually does the work or how much wastes. The payment remains per square meter of area done. Same goes for tiling, POP, wall cladding, etc, etc.
Talking about the bolded, it's an interior designer project, let's Transform your space, when you get to that stage Sir.
Godspeed on your Project Sir.

I want to fix a sliding window in my house; but I am confused ing a sliding net or a permanent net. Pls if money is not an issue, which of them does a better job of protecting against insects.
Do a permanent net, then have a sliding window behind it, for ventilation purpose. ✓
A sliding net, in the process of opening & closing, insects can get inside.

When it comes to water pressure from overhead tank, I think all of you are correct in a way. Apart from preference in water pressure (what is satisfactory to me might not work for you), there ways to achieve a decent water pressure for shower.
It is acceptable that the higher the tank the more pressure of the water flow. I think Michlins take is the value in raising such a taller tank stand.
There are many ways to achieve "excellent" water pressure without building tower of David.
First, you must run the pipes from the tank to top most floor directly. (This is the reason why the pressure of water on the roof is better than the one on a stand of the same height.) It does not look neat but it works. Then work your way down the floors. The idea of running the pipe down first before going upstairs waste some pressure.
Secondly, you must incorporate pipe reduction to achieve better water pressure. Pvc or copper pipe reducers should not be hard to find.
In the end, you just want to enjoy shower and forget about stress.
When we start having 24/7 electricity this small thing will replace those heavy tanks
Really hope that “when” is near..
