Nigsrdumb: If houses traded like stocks they will behave the same. Stock number movement is majorly psychological. Thank God for liquidity, many people wouldn’t want to hold things that trade like that. If I you know the fair value of an asset is 1 million naira, would you gladly pay 2 million naira for it? Hoping that another person will pay 4 million naira for it in the future? 1 Like |

9jatriot: Nope. Tbills and bonds are very important in the larger scheme of things to create a functional economy. Read up on Quantitative easing and tightening. These are just methods and techniques central banks use to stimulate the economy depending on how it needs to be stimulated. |

einsteine: He doesn’t because of the cost it will incur. That is smart! Just look at how much they have saved for their investors. I will listen more to Warren than any other person in the field. People have called him out countless times, he always comes out on top. He is still on top with his company holding 130 billi in cash, who is your FAV? And do they have that in cash? |

Nigsrdumb: Are you seeing a temporary drop in price as getting burnt? Hahahaha! That is an opportunity if fundamentals remain the same! The same happened with Zenith and GT bank this year when they dropped massively. People who know opportunity did what they have to do. I have seen this market before where everyone feels like a genius. It doesn’t always end well. I know, I have witnessed it. Except you want to tell me you can time the market? In that case good luck. There is one certainty though, Powell won’t print dollars forever. 2 Likes |

Nigsrdumb: Lol! Stop loss? Meaning you are trading? The reason why people don’t get to be as rich as Warren even though his investing strategy is simple is because many people like instant gratification. And Warren has warned that investment should be boring like watching a paint dry. Let’s assume you make some money now, and the bears come. Then what? You start betting against the market again? What stocks would you short-sell? How would you know when market sentiment will favour your shorts if you invest the same way you did in the bull? Why you are busy stop-lossing and following the crowd other people are buying Indexes or companies with good financial standings paying less in fees and indirectly making more and their money silently compounds. Saw the analysis of Zenith bank from 2005 to date and I was amazed, how many people are shouting Zenith? Meanwhile it made some people rich Silently and even outperformed holding the dollar by quite some margin. At the end of the day, we will all do what works for us. ![]() 2 Likes 1 Share |

emmanuelewumi: Yep! A whole lot of them do buy backs or retain earnings. And Amazon has done some share bonus and share ing. Can’t which exactly and when. |

Nigsrdumb: In the long run, index funds will outperform most individual stock pickers. I clearly also stated the S&P 500. 8 months? Lol! Just watch when the bear market arrives. I hope all of you keep having this same energy. Lol! I have seen this energy before. Countless times. People forget ing basics and call themselves financial experts. Even make jest of the Warren and Munger style. We are still here till today. Who is winning? All the companies like Amazon and co, which of them have actual 130 billion USD in cash? Lol! |

abraolas1: The index funds have cheap or almost non-existent fees, since they are managed ively. In fact Warren Buffet won a bet with money on index funds vs Hedge fund managers. He argued that in the long run, it is harder to beat the markets and that with the fees hedge funds charge, they are costing their clients more money. Look at the Vanguard S&P 500 index fund and that of Fidelity too. Quite a nice performance. Do your research on this and learn more. 5 Likes 1 Share |

abraolas1: So an index fund basically tracks or mimics the performance of an index. Examples of Indexes are... 1. Dow Jones Industrial average 2. Nasdaq composite 3. Russell 2000 4. Standard and Poor’s 500 index (S&P 500). Indexes represent a segment of the financial markets. So some investment houses create these instruments (the Index funds) so investors can key into them. So as the US stock market or the market with that particular index is booming, the index fund booms too. These indexes mimic the market, market is down, your portfolio will be down, market is up your portfolio will be up. I have been looking at the indexes for a while and their returns are quite spectacular for dollar investments. Thanks to people like John Bogle and Warren Buffet who has opened peoples eyes. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Nigsrdumb: I when the crypto market was booming and Bitcoin went up to 20K USD. Many friends said the same. I said the same. When I think about the losses I incurred I laugh at myself, and it has changed the way I think. Invest in the US, but my advice? Focus more on their index funds. So you can sleep at night. Peacefully. 3 Likes |

Some people are very funny. Which asset doesn’t use normal financial evaluation to be priced and valued? Who values real estate, just because? There are so many financial factors that go into this thing and not what you think people will pay for it. There are many people who did the portfolio investing and made so much they are here to help others. Some of you don’t know this, but with the price some men here bought stocks years back, what if I told you they most probably earn close to 100% dividend yields annually from that time till now. Don’t take my word for it, the historical charts are there for people to see. I have done my research on Nigerian real estate and many of these owned as collateral by banks on bad loans cannot even be sold! I have real estate friends who offer commissions of 10% just to sell some properties. So would we say the Banks were stupid when they were valuing those properties and now can’t sell? Forget what you know, if real estate was traded like stocks via numbers and quantity they would behave exactly the same way. 7 Likes |
