millionaireman: Responsbilities of every tier of govt is carefully spelt out in the constitution. But when a state governor assumes that people he rules are stupid, he governs with a false standard that says supply of electricity to his people is solely a federal govt responsibility; the governor tells his people that supply of pipe borne water is a private affair; he tells his people that urban drainage system in his state outside the state capital is federal govt duty. Governor even tells funny story that road contractors went home with money given to them for building roads and abandoned the jobs. After limiting his government's responsibilities to the people, the governor retires to act as the Mayor of the state capital.

Brother that is very funny.

berem: How is it Rochas's fault that his home town doesn't have light for the past 6 years? He should have directed his anger on that to Jonathan. Though I agree with some of his statements,he went too far condemning Rochas.

It is not the responsibility of president to put electricity in a community. It is the duty of a governor of that state. Nigerian government should teach us the responsibilities of every parts of governments so that we will know who to blame for their negligent.

Loooool. You were waiting for an opportunity to say all of that? You didn't need me to say "Try Google" before you could give your speech. Believe me, I'm not reading that.

Please I did what I can, you can help me out by giving me links right now. I need it and I'm waiting for it. Thanks

Try Google.

Brother, with due respect to you, I have search the Google as you said and found no fault about the woman in person, only that she can't speak good English but that has not change her sense of reasoning. English is just a language which is not our native language. Consider a woman in that age coming from a timid village, she may not have the opportunity that we have today. My own mother did not have the same opportunity to go to school but that did not change her sense of reasoning. Language is just for communication, for people to understand what you want to tell them. Why is our own people using her inability to speak English language to call her bad names and make mockery of her. Many woman in that her age does not have opportunity to learn good English. She is our First Lady, why are we so wicked to mock a woman that is old enough to be our mother while we know that some of our mothers can not speak good English. May God forgive all of us, respect is also leaving this country, Nigerians are known for deep respect what is happening now. I'm very very disappointed, lets stop judging people from their educational background because some families does not have such privileges. First Lady is not ministry position which is done by appointment, she is already a wife of Goodluck Jonathan and had children for him, they are legally married before GEJ got that presidency. Do you people what him to sack his wife and mother of his children just because of being president of Nigeria for 4 or 8 years and engage himself in polygamous marriage which will destroy is beautiful family during and after his tenure as president of Nigeria. I think we all own her apology. This is not about ing GEJ, this is about an abuse laid on a woman who can be our mother.

What can you say about this video:

Etruth: ....surely the masses are against this government....not particularly because of the insurgency, but because of the massive fraud, insensitivity, electricity issues, bad roads, greed, grab-grab, 'CABALism' and anti-masses policies and actions etc perpetrated in HIGH PLACES. The only thing that the generality of Nigerians enjoy from this istration is Madam PEJ's comedy performances once in a while.

I'm not in Nigeria, I have heard this Madam PEJ's comedy in this forum several times without hearing any stories attached to it. What did our first lady did that people are talking about her this way. Some said she is not educated but in my own opinion that is never a problem because GEJ married her before becoming president of Nigeria and he should divorce his wife because of presidency which last 4 or 8 years at maximum. And no one should suggest him to marry another wife for first lady, that will be wrong. Please tell me anything that the woman did that is not good, I need to know so that I can start to understand and reason with others whenever I see such a post. Thank you.

sapientia: The way people toy with security issues sometimes is funny.. In as much as i sympathise with the kidnapped girls and their families (thats if ever there was a kidnap).. Government doesnt perform magic. If the Government swoop on these terrorists and bring back the dead bodies of these kids.. Maybe oby will launch #WakeUpOurGirls.. Shebi USA and co came to Nigeria with promises.. Ok.. Even if they feel they were not given proper space.. What of China that promised us ariel view with their high powered satelite.. Did Nigeria block that too. This issue is dicey and oby should stop playing politics with it. She should know that this aint like fuel price hike or ASUU strike where you can see people to dialogue with cos you know them by their names.

There was kidnap of french nationals some months back in Kano.. French special forces n some Nigerian troops tried to rescue them by force... At the end of the.. None of them was rescued alive.. We need living girls.. I dare even say all these campaigns boosts the morale of these BH boys cos it makes them feel they have gotten the masses against the government..

What you just said maybe true. We need those girls alive not dead.

I tell people exactly what you wrote, but they just don't wanna get it. I have a friend in the Army serving in Maiduguri right now....my brother the things he tells me are not to be said over the internet I'm telling you......just like you said the youths are blinded by tribal and religious sentiments, I laugh sometimes when I see people saying we are going to revolt against this government soon, truthh be told we need to revolutionize our minds first.......I am a Northerner and a muslim I voted for GEJ in 2011 and so did my parents and anyother person in my household that is illigible, I've never regreted anything like voting him seriously.........

You are a very wise person to mention that we need to revolutionized our mind first. That is a good thing to hear from a wise person like you. How can we fight the corrupt leaders when we are corrupt, how many of us is ready to spend his or her time on due process when we default traffic rules instead we prefer to pay higher price on bribe to policemen. We need to remove revolution in our mind and start teaching ourselves and our children importance of following due process. Due process is what we don't have in Nigeria, no one is ready to consider taking due process in Nigeria starting from me. No Nigerian man and woman knows what is due process and it is hard to take due process to succeed.

Toktee: My brother,if you spent 5months in egypt or south africa you will never ever know their secrete police, lets not talk of fbi or cia, jonathan and his co-travellers are playing politics with human lives, they know exactly what they are doing,he want the girls release toward the end of the year when the election will be near in other to score cheap political point, but God almighty know that jonathan will never ever win election in nigeria again.
It is under jonathan that our soldiers become boys scout, our airforce is nt function, intelligence service is zero to say the least, our police are busy intimidating defenceless citizens, what a country, the youths are blinded by religious and tribal sentiment, phcn is busy feeding fat on helpless nigerians by increasing tarrif without notice, and without electricity.
Anybody that identify with this gvt does nt wish nigeria well, and it shall not be well with him or her.

In as much as I agree with you in some points, I still want you to understand that all politicians are the same. It is still the same stories we are hearing from 1960. I am not hear to talk about politic because none as ever impressed me both past and present. It is still the same people, the same stories that we are hearing and what I noticed personally is that after another it seems the past is better and that continues all the time. I when it was Babangida and it seems that he is the worse and another came not long Abacha came it seems it was the worst than Babangida and another came not too long OBJ came and every one was praying that he should die and leave the seat for a better person. Now is GEJ and it is still the same story we are hearing, so tell me who should we trust because in as much as I will continue to tell myself the truth no one is ready to lead us and no one is honest enough to tell us the truth, leave Nigeria politics because it belongs to the evil minded people in Nigeria, none of them are sincere, if they are sincere how should they fund the campaign with Billions of naira which is far more than the actual salaries+allowances paid to president in the whole 48 months. How did they recover their money back and makes profits, no one will deceive me again in this Nigeria. PDP, APC and others are the same people with separate names. Just ignore them and let us stop helping them in their quest to their continuous deception. We need to unity as a nation and take away tribalism and religious differentiation that our politicians are using to get us into their pockets. United Nigeria should stand first before any thing else. Tribes and Religious differences are just instrument of politicians in getting into their positions in Nigerian Government but they don't know that inciting hatred through tribe and religion differences will lead this beautiful nation to experience what Sudan is experiencing today. We shall not divide like Sudan, both South and North Sudan are regretting the division they created for themselves.

Senate President, Speaker, Ministers, 36

ordinary people. Let’s unite, love ourselves, live
in peace, lend a helping hand to one another and
move this great country ahead. Let’s forget
tribalism it won’t help us, let’s forget religion as
it will not do us good, rather let’s think how we
can better our country as we have no other
country except Nigeria. lets find these girls. Every religion preaches
peace, love and harmony so why are we fighting
each other, why are we killing ourselves, why the
hatred. Stop it today and think “what can I do
to make my country a better place. Tell yourself
today NIGERIA FIRST BEFORE TRIBE, I AM A

instead of us the youth forming an alliance to
stop all this we are here accusing one another and pointing accusing fingers.

I'm very glad to read your comment this morning, my instinct tells me that Nigeria will be bigger and better soon. Peace and love in this country will contribute to our progress because no divided family is progressing like united family. Nigeria is a family and must unity to make it great and greatest. I'm also from Njikoka LGA in Anambra state. However, your respelling of the name has altered the true meaning of the word, njikoka, which means 'unity is greater'. The 'awka' word you're trying to impose on the word is natively pronounced with falling accents differently from the 'oka' in Njikoka and shouldn't have been juxtaposed in place of 'oka' in the first place.

Yes you are right. I always make the same mistake, I misunderstood it as "t of Awka". Thank you for your correction, I really appreciate it. A bu onye Ifiteani na Nimo.

Please stop this, that movement can not lead this country anywhere, it is adding more salt on injury. We don't need this in this country, we can not after seeing how such movement destroyed Libya and Egypt then we will be very stupid to do such. War starts from this kind of movement. If you love your country stop this today and lets us stop the corruption from our home, office and schools. No one in Nigeria is worthy of trusting presidency, it is always the same stories. Who can you swear for, tell me your candidate and I will prove to you that he is a thief. Many countries has been praying for us to be that stupid to destroy this beautiful country that God has given us by inciting hatred and propaganda in our midst but Nigerians are wise that we do not welcome such. I love this country Nigeria and please do not destroy it by your movement of fighting corruption. You may have ambition but peace is very important. We should be a glue to hold this country together rather than being instrument of destruction.

Even you were typing this at the comfort of your bedroom. So what are you talking about. Start the movement against our corrupt leaders and we'll be right with you (not behind you). Typing on internet is no action my dear.

Please which movement? What as the movement brought Egypt and Libya? We don't need this post, this is what has destroyed so many lives. The best way to fight corruption is by making sure we ourselves are not corrupt and we always taking our responsibility very seriously. It is not only our leaders that are corrupt, almost every one in our country is corrupt so who are you going to fight. Just start from yourself and I will start from myself then people will start learning from us and before you know it our leaders will also stop the corruption. Who is trust worthy here? Who can you swear for in this country that you will elect as president. Know it now that once one is down and another is been elected, its always be the same stories. We all are corrupt, no one is worthy in this country starting from me, things will be good someday. I will not fight anyone for corruption, but I will start today to stop whatever that I am doing that is corruption, example; Giving police bribe on the road, give correct judgement over issues in my place of work, stop paying for special centers for WAEC/NECO for my children but force them to read their books etc.

azimibraun: Nigeria and Nigerians will not stop amazing me. Do Nigerians need affordable cars or they need Effective, efficient and affordable transport system; public or private? Affordable cars to be fuelled with afordable fuel? To be driven on wich gud roads? To be parked where? All dis houses land lords are building with no parking space? Asaba in particular. Abegi jare. A dead on arrival policy for the Educated and enlightened mind.

The reason people are happy about this news is not about the car but the means of bringing employment to the youth not just about the car or for people to own a car. Nigeria should stop importing finished good and encourage local productions instead of being consumers of imported finished goods.

MOBJECTIVE:
I also agree Biafra's time has come and gone, but get some facts straight.
Ojukwu didn't go to war with Gowon, Gowon went to war with Ojukwu.
Ojukwu did not withdraw from Nigeria because of selfish reasons, various issues necessitated this.
I know Nigeria has even removed this from her history syllabus, but let me sum up.
Before the war, the people of the eastern region were facing persecution and being killed. After the war, they still faced persecution and marginalisation, but the killing stopped.
However, Igbo military leaders had brought this on Igbo people, and I can't say the persecution was completely undeserved as the Igbo of the time were simply to dominating to exist peacefully in a federation.

Cause: inciting the hate of other tribes by killing their leaders and effectively making Nigeria (both Northern and Southern) a state ruled solely by Igbo (eastern) military leaders + domination of trade at the time.

Effect: tribal clashes and violence against the eastern people (especially by the Northerners)

Ojukwu's solution: the creation of Biafra to protect the eastern people.

Nigeria's response: immediate military action without resort to diplomacy.

Results: no looser no vanquished or whatever the phrase was. however there was lack of self esteem as a people, loss of Language and culture, loss of trust from other eastern tribes and set back in development.

These things as well as their results are in the past, Biafra is in the past. But the facts shouldn't be distorted simply because we have re-integrated with Nigeria.
Ojukwu himself has been honoured so much by his people, and even by other Africans, as he is believed to have saved his people from the fate that met similar African tribes, such as that of the Tutsi's of Rwanda.

What you said is true but the same hatred is been incited to other tribes once we continue mentioning the past, Biafra as a name should be abolished for us to move on. We can also avoid inciting hatred among other tribes by avoiding being tribalism in our comments in the social media. There is no point of ing what has past since it will not contribute to our current welfare. Let's take other tribes as our people and see if that love will exist in Nigeria. Where Love and charity abides, God is found.

I'm from Njiko-Awka LGA in Anambra State and If you want we can express ourselves n' Igbo Nzugbe. I'm not quoting myself but I want you to understand that there is no need for emerging of Baifra. I was once praying for actualization of Biafra but I have grown up to ask why Ikemba Ojukwu started the war at the first place and I came to understand that it was for his personal gain and pride over a junior office becoming Head of State. No one can trick all Igbos again, millions of people dead starved and people were killed like flies just because of someone greed and pride, I can never be a fool to those calling Biafra. Nigeria was in peace in 1967 and there was no tribalism against the Igbos at that time why did Ojukwu ask our people to fight for actualization of Biafra. , that war is what has made other tribes to hates us and never us in becoming president. It is all costed by Ojukwu.

gratiaeo: with due respect to anyone’s view or opinion per say, I think anybody saying that the emergence of boko haram could in any way make Nigerian to believe in one Nigeria is been deceived. The issue of boko haram has indeed shown that the 1914 amalgamation is a huge error that has brought Nigeria to her knees. For any reason, you don’t keep cat and dog together and expect peace to reign, no matter how we can pretend, there exist a BIG and NATURAL hatred among all the major ethic nationalities we have in Nigeria and that in has in turn bring susption

I don't believe that division will solve the issue of terrorism in our scope, even if we divide Nigeria they will still kill and destroy across the bounders because that is their believe as an achievement for Jihad. We need to campaign for United Nigeria and pay deaf ears to politicians that are seeking for their personal gains through regional and religious grouping of Nigerians. My brother Ikemba Ojuku started the Biafran war for his pride and personal gain but my people do not understand that Ojuku is the cost of Millions of lives that died in the war and those lives are the price paid for the pride of Ojuku. If we start now to learn how to live with one another as a nation and try to see the important of others in this country, preach peace and love in our places of worship, communities, schools, forums and families that will bring the everlasting peace in this country. Our politicians are not telling us the truth, they are the course of our problems told, they are not doing this for our gain but for themselves and their family. I can never be a party of anyone that wants to divide this country. You are right... But I don't think revolution can work in this country.... The military that suppose to fight for us are the most corrupt now..... Most of our leaders knows the problem but there gain is what they all want same as the military..... So is just a miracle we need, Thats what we have to be praying for.

How old are you Sir? Please think very well before making such comment. From what year has Nigeria been in corrupted state and hardship?(I WILL SAY SINCE FROM ADAM). Revolution is adding fuel into fire, can you give me an example of revolution that has brought good governance, true freedom, life, health, wealth, peace and progress. (NOT EVEN ONE). In Libya what as their revolution brought for them? NOTHING. In Egypt what has revolution brought for them? NOTHING. We are not all Nigeriams oo. I am Biafran jor!

OMAR BANGURA from Sierra Leone has this to tell Nigerians; "I don't think you guys know what you are playing with. You can call each other names and laugh about it now but when you end up inciting hate here as I read through your posts here and a real civil war start in your country you will regret what you are doing now. Your religious and political leaders are trying to divide you between religious lines and you are helping them do that rather than standing up and say we are all Nigerians never mind our tribe, region or religion. That's the only stand that will save your blessed nation. The foreign powers pushing the government to take certain decisions will abandon you when you start killing each other and reject you from running to their countries so be careful. Our 11 years war in Sierra Leone was not even based on religious or tribal difference and see what we did to our country. The worst conflicts are those based on tribal and religious differences. See central Africa,Bosnia. My heart bleeds when I read what you guys are saying because I know what this will lead to. You will be the losers all of you whether Christian, Muslim, Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa stand as one and save your nation together because you have only one Nigerian that has the potential to lead Africa"...........
