Another man's food is another man's poison! Just because you prefer the song ole it does not mean that this song (for instance) sucks, Its simply a thing of taste and choice. This has nothing to do with fooling him ( why, should I what am I gaining ![]() ![]() ![]() |

katherinae: How many actors and actresses are in the Nigerian industry. Likewise many dancers in the music industry that are good in what they do . In many Hollywood dance movies they mostly take people that are not known stars that are already dancers. Katherinae, you make a point if producers or people can label dance movies as the wacky film I agree with you of they don't have a good plan, actors, storyline and choreagraphy for the dancing movie let them (producers) keep us from the shame and mediocrity. |

@ mcmsat I feel your pain cos I feel it as well concerning the condition of the country and our people in it . I love Nigeria and I am proud to be a Nigerian. However, around me and even in Nigeria people are not proud to be so, They have good reasons for disliking the country we can not ignore the ills, corrupted and unlawfullness of the country. The big gap between rich and poor to name a few of the ills. Nigeria is a developing country and we Nigerians living abroad and in the country are the ones that can make a difference . It will take us a long it might not even be in our grandchildrens time. We can contribute good things or bad things to the country its up to us to make the difference. |

I love the song. The first time I heard the song was from Akon's CD on the last track, I got ballistic. The track is dope and the beat is moving . His rhymes are flowing and it makes absolute sense for those that appreciate the art of poetry as well as the rhythm of good beats all compiled together. ![]() He preformed well and is going many places many are dreaming of! A message to Tuface keep on rocking don't mind the haters cos they will always be there to criticize! Just do your thing for the deep music/rhymes/beats lovers! ![]() |

whitelexi: Whitelexi you have said it all. Let me add some points of my own. Igbos that make issues about this are really backwards. Anyway, as for me these reasons stated by some of you are used to lift your states up not because it is a common thing. One can also say he or she will not marry with an anambra person because of rituals/sacrifice of their wives or husbands even children to gain money. We all know the love that anambra people have for money is higher than anything in this life. Does that mean that every anambra person is involved in money rituals. The problem with Igbos is generalization, is a pity, that is why Igbo land is so deterioriated because of these backwards way of conducting life ![]() 2 Likes |

Seun: Do you know how many variety of dances are in Nigeria? Diversities of styles of dances and culture. They are definitely not boring, there is so many we can do , if you look at Zule Zoo they have such a good choreography and they are very acrobatic and combine different African styles in their acts. Then look at P-Square in some of their acts oh come on, there is so much we can do in that field combining dance with movies I think that Nigerian movie producers should look at other storylines than the common present ones. A dance movie might be a start of something new however they should do it in the context of Nigeria and not America or India. As for dancing heart is not a dancing movie simply because their was some scenes of dance in it ! Moreover, the choreography of the dances ![]() |

sam-carlos: @Sam-Carlos You are right that it is not Nigeria in particularly but Africa. I will go a step broader it is the black man in general who does not read. |

In my opinion, as many said already , Nigerians do not read, simply for several reasons mentioned by many posters such as Orinikla ( by the way, preach on the truth hurts) about this topic. I was reading just for the sake of school and studies which is the basic of reading (I guess) but I did not enjoy it. I started reading at the age of twenty not because it was compulsory for studies and exams or for information. I had to apply for a particular course with a break of one year. I felt there was something missing in my life. The joy of reading. While I was preparing for the entrance exam of the four-year-course. A friend of mine recommended me a book by Sidney Sheldon. She was addicted to his books. She told me if I read one or two pages I will continue until the end. She was so right. I finished the book in two days (300 something pages) I became addicted and started looking for Sidney Sheldon books everywhere. In less then six months time, I read almost all of his books converted to other styles of books from biography to romance and more. My point here is that it is never too late to read, educate, enlighten, relax and lift yourselfup . Simply reading for recognition or been seen is not good enough for yourself there is always something that will be missing. Reading is good for the soul as well as your capabilities to visualize and put things in words and to broaden your perspectives. I am reading now a novel "The Godfather" from Mario Puzo a real maffia story. I read all kinds of books. To me reading is better than movies because you can use your imagination, the movies I watched that were from a book, I did not like it because my imagination of the characters simply did not match or other missing essential factors of the book. Just reading can 't be compared with reading because you love to, there is a clear difference! When I read because it was compulsory to or just to obtain information I felt lik I was not reading, infact, I was not reading. I thank God I am now! |

The preview is not exciting but dull. Is quite obvious what it is about love and cheating. The actors and actresses are handsome and beautiful but the acting is not convincing. I must say that the quality of colour and screen is of standards but is definitely not a love story I would watch, Like they say another men's food is another's poison! |

I have noticed it as well. Whenever, I am home many Nigerians want to show off or distinguish themselves from those that are living at home. This comes forth also because most people back home see them automatically as money bags and as some of you said kiss their asses well well! It is very annoying but then again most of the peeps you see are been discriminated, insulted and treated as nothing abroad so they can spend a short time feeling big or special at home. I would not say it is the best thing to do but at the same time I can understand where it is coming from. That kind of attitude will not work for me because it is not my style If I see people behaving too big simply because they are living abroad (most of the time depressed over there) I do not give them my time! ![]() |

Funny statement, I don't agree with it at all! I do not consider myself that tall (1.77m) but I noticed that usually shorter men approach me.

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder! ![]() As for the criticizing peeps, as Orikinla and others said if you do not find appearing on CNN representing a movie industry a big deal then first examine your head and then try to be on the spotlight yourself for 15 minutes on CNN representing an industry. Then I will agree with you that it is not a big deal. ThisDumebi:There is no fuss but just recognition !!!!!! It is definitely something to discuss and if you don't agree, to my knowledge there are many topics you might be able to put your finger on! ![]() |

I prefer the name WAZOBIA its great it says so much more then Nollywood or Naijawood. Well, lets hope that people in the movie industry will consider the name, especially that the revolution has started. |

The thread of this forum is about the largest movie industry, I was revering to Nollywood as the 3rd Largest and not the 3rd best!!!!!!!!! As for the name Nollywood, it can still change when things improve with the movie industry. I think the revolution of Nollywood its emerging "30days" is a evidence of it. Who knows maybe then a new name will come up! I do not have a problem with the name rather more with the quality and the standards, I kind of got use to it but for the people who do like you Grafikdon, I say start brainstorming of new names for the industry ![]() |

Idekeson: Nollywood is the 3rd as in distribution spread and productions in the world. As for the name it looks like it is here to stay if they will change it eventually its up to industry. I do not think its such a big deal that they want to relate the industry to others. Further the name its easy to and to connect with Nigeria. They could have called it Naija would some of you would be talking more positively about the industry then? I do not think sooo. Instead of constantly lamenting about the name someone can come up with something more fitting for the industry. Eventually Nollywood will go to another more professional level and meet the standards of Hollywood, Bollywood and others its only a matter of time, , financial and technical resources. Idekeson, which part of Europe are you talking about because where I stay its even more popular among the South- Americans than the Africans. |

None of the Hollywood movies mentioned is the best to me. Besides, no Naija movie on the list so make I add one---- "Behind Closed Doors" ![]() |

Waaaauw, what a debate. I am a new member at this forum site and I am extremely interested in the Nollywood industry, especially because its quite jung ( less then 15 yrs) and what directors, producers, actors and actressess have accomplished with limited or lack of resources, each time they make a new movie in such a short time span its incredible. I must confess that sometimes these stories look alike or are too predictable, nevertheless, the industry is trying alot and has become more familiar in many parts of African countries, parts of Europe and even US. Nollywood has a long way to go to be fully recognized but at the same time they are getting there faster than critics will think. I do not think that Hollywood could have achieved so much with limited resources in less than 15 years. Or can some one else prove otherwise ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
