I think gambling shouldn't be an addiction. Gambling is mainly fueled by greed and all what is needed is to have sense of sobriety and stop being greedy.

A sane country that's able to identify a Boko Haram/bandits apologist and spokesman when they see one. There was a time when this Sheikh was a deliveryman for bandits and was even advising FG to negotiate with them

StaffofOrayan:Your reasoning is still flawed! Well, an average agbero like yourself may not understand that two wrongs don't make a right but try to GET THAT INTO YOUR SKULL. Also, the right to life is very core and under no circumstance should a customary idea or tradition erode or clamp on that. John Locke identifies three basic rights which are central to all humans and the first two are: right to life and right to liberty. See women's lives should not be in jeopardy because of one stupid and barbaric oro culture. |

StaffofOrayan:Your argument is flawed. Do Christians and Muslims engage in human sacrifice (at least not in a brazen manner) What we are saying is that human sacrifice is bad, barbaric and gruesomely wicked. In this modern world, we shouldn't be talking about Oro again and just as killing of twins is a thing of the past, the same thing should apply to Oro. |

During his meeting with South African President, a NBC reporter raised that issue and the President quickly ditched him and said the jet would be for the US air force (as it's unconstitutional for a US sitting President to receive any gift from anyone especially foreigners). But the way President handled that NBC reporter was very inhumane. He called him all sort of names like 'not smart' 'you shouldn't be here' 'stupid' 'idiot'...The President handled him as if he has some score or unfinished business with him.

Let me play the devil's advocate here. This chap seems not to be smart. Having over 100 million naira in his bank without any real legitimate work to back it up actually sold him off. Such money should have been used to purchase cryptos at least on three or four different platforms. Why using a classic 30m white benz... I'm sure it's basically for show off... He could have easily bought a small and not too flashy honda car (the point is to conveniently move from point A to B) while doing a small legitimate business as a decoy and enjoying his life silently. Nothing beats privacy and an unassuming lifestyles!!! Now, all is gone and he's going to waste two solid years in pain, regret and agony in a Nigeria prison. 11 Likes 3 Shares |

Who are these Jihadists? Let them have their own country. The government can try to carve out a new country for them.

I don't know who's to share the lion's blame between the perpetrators and the victims. Obviously, the victims aren't just gullible but extremely foolish because what's so hard in following the golden rule of online dating: 'Never send money to anyone you've never met physically'

Policing is not just about combating crime or repelling the activities of assailants; It's actually more about detecting crime and this is best done with robust and effective community policing. The security architecture of this country should be thoroughly decentralized. There should be a close-knit relationship between the community and the police. Kidnappers live among us, they have friends and neighbors and The very fact that this country is divided into states/senatorial districts/federal constituencies/local government/wards shows that security can still be properly planned and managed. I strongly share in the belief that the buck still lies on the presidency. Starting from the presidency to the top security officers, these state actors should be made able for any security lapse and failure. We should also begin to imagine the agony and pain faced by people when they learn about the death or incarceration of their loved ones and family . 4 Likes |

Nuclear weapons are basically for deterrents and for national prestige so the US and its puppet(Israel) should get that into their skulls. And to use the words of a fellow nairalander 'What's good for the Greece is also good for Uganda'. Since the US and even a small country that was created by the UNO in 1948 could have nuclear capability, nothing stops an old and big country like Iran/Persia from possessing nuclear capabilities. 7 Likes 4 Shares |

Must the FG tell the ivory towers this before they know the right thing to do. I believe Ivory towers should be championing innovation and invention and not being told what to do.

I hope to watch their testimony time! There was this testimony of a woman who got kidnapped and while in the kidnappers' den, a Winners' program leaflet in her purse fell on the floor. Suddenly, the image of Oyedepo on that leaflet began to speak in tongues and expectedly, there was confusion in the camp of her abductors and she was able to escape. Hallelujah! There was also this testimony by the tsar himself, he started by saying that people only go to places where there's value. He said a German was diagnosed of HIV and the man traveled all the way from to the church in Nigeria. The man was prayed for and HIV/AIDS got disappeared and that distance can never be a barrier as long as it's a place of value. 4 Likes |

Wasky101:Your argument seems correct but at the same time lopsided. Businesses are closing or failing. You talked about rent. There's a two bedroom apartments in my area that's 1.1m. It's only one seemingly Yahoo boy that has taken it. The remaining 3 flats is still there untaken for like 4 months now. Or you think middle class people like lecturers, medical doctors would in their right senses pay for such. The point is that the economy is crumbling and things are going haywire. Imagine a lecturer earning about 250 to 350k and can't afford to rent a two/three bedroom flats because prices are now between 800k to 2m. Pls take your time to think about it. Or you think someone in his right sense would use about 5 or 6 monthly income to pay annual rent. |
