Hello fellow nairalanders, this thread I posted few days ago https://nairaland.unblockandhide.com/8428017/just-broke-up-girlfriend
This lady has been reporting me to my friends and particularly my elder sister who liked her so well.My sister challenged me on why I would do that claiming she is a good girl.
She is always checking my status on Whatsapp and I had to block her
How can I keep her shut permanently
Just keep mute, start taking pics with different ladies you meet and always be happy, post jokes on your WhatsApp status, that will drive her up

They have their refineries outside the country and that's why they want the importation to continue.

PressMyButton:

I'm loving this, since President Tinubu opened up the oil sector, it has become a chess game, a price war, call it anything. that Dangote had said on several occasions he has enough fuel to go round, therefore, there's no need for markerters importing fuel. From the article above, you will see where Dangote exported 44,000 tonnes of diesel, very sure he also exported petrol and other products as well. Meanwhile, as that was happening, the marketers ignored Dangote to go import their own petrol into the country. For me, I am neither here nor there, I don't want market monopoly, at the same time, I do not want marketers boycotting local refineries to patronize foreign refineries, I do not also want too much pressure on the dollar for fuel Importation. So, I am caught in between.
However, Dangote is a Don, from what I am observing here, he's a badass capitalist that knows his way around the market. He has warned the importers that he has enough to go round but the marketers insisted they will only buy from where it is cheaper as the market is now a free market. Dangote would then wait for them to go place an order abroad and when their petrol is on the sea, Dangote reduces his own price below the landing cost. By the time, the marketers received their products, they are left with no choice than sell it at Dangote's price. They dare not sell above the price of Dangote. With that, the marketers run into losses.
I heard them crying two months ago that the price crashes made them incur losses when Dangote again crashed the price after FG renewed the naira for crude deal. My observation so far is that Dangote is still controlling the market price and whenever the marketers decided to buy from abroad, he reduces his own price to punish them.
instead of them to create a consortium to create their own refinery

Is this One port effective enough to bring in cars from the USA? What about the clearing process, it is also effective?

What if these bandits are being sponsored by disgruntled politicians from Northern Nigeria to cause instability and amplify the level of insecurity in the country just to garner some dubious campaign points against this istration?

What if some public officials benefiting from the huge yearly defence allocation are sponsoring violence so that the budgetary allocation can keep increasing?

What if? Just thinking aloud

Tech is not the easiest option. Tech is grueling. You'd break even quick doing FCMG business than tech. You'd get 30 million then do a runway of 6 months and still lose everything.

Tech startups being easy to make money is the biggest lie told about startups.

You should startup circles on X where we openly share these truths, including the many failures and some success. Startup blogs or blogs generally ignore the real stories. 90% of startups fail. It's higher in tech.

You should read up from successful VCs like Iyin Abodeji and Paul Graham of Y Combinator on X to get these depressing stories. Tech is no quick cash venture. Except you are building a fantasy to get VC money like many Nigerian fintech startups do.
I still belief tech is the easiest,I understand what you are talking about and the angle you are coming from, read my earlier comment again and think about it. What business can you start presently in Nigeria that can be scaled from as low as 500k to 1 million naira, You are coming from the angle of VCs and Angels I am not coming from that angle. In tech you can merely start with a friend, a laptop that is not new, learn a skill on YouTube and build a business around it. Carefully comprehend what I wrote again

Self learn? If he's motivated enough, yes. But creating a startup? To what end? Startups need to have a purpose and if you are fueled by success stories, it takes years and it's grueling. There's mostly input before you break even then scale.

Viral startup stories on X have people thinking it's big bucks immediately.
All he needs is right mindset, persistent mind, understand how to scale, startup does not always mean something that will be big but something that create value and has corporate signature, it's the best option for someone that does not have higher education, as long as there is an advantageous problem to solve, a mentor that can help navigate through easy and hard times, he is good to go. Startup is just anything you start with the intention of creating value, a church can even be one, a community can be one, even a religious organization. The idea is push your money into something that add value to others, let the street and marketplace experience educate you instead of classroom. So it's not always about tech, even though tech is the easiest option, do you understand

A little back story.

Due to some ugly circumstances, i dropped out of school in 2019 and I've been at home since then, periodically picking up one or two low paying jobs. 2 years ago, I decided to learning a tech skill. I taught myself C++ programming language and I'm currently teaching myself mathematics aggressively, studying for min of 8 hours daily.

For the past two years, I've mostly always been in my room, I can be in our house for more than two weeks, without stepping a foot out of our door due to how engrossed in studying I always am. My goal is to learn C++, DSA , And Math to an undergraduate level then use my skills to apply for scholarships to study abroad, and probably work in a hedge fund company as a quantitative trader in the future. For those who know what leetcode is, i can currently solve most leetcode (hard) problems in less than 40 minutes.

Now, I'll be 24 in August, and my dad is worried that I'm wasting my life away because I've refused to pickup any real job or learn a trade, his worried that I'm already getting old, always reminding me that people my age are already getting married. Now he wants me to leave his house to go look for my own place to stay, and has offered me 7 million naira to go start life else where.

Now I plan to move out of Lagos to PH or Akwa Ibom, then use part of the money to start up a computer business center, where I'll be doing typing, printing, lamination, jamb registration, GCE/WAEC registrations, etc. One of the reasons I chose this is because I've worked in a place like this before and I have experience in how to run such a place. Another reason is that, this business would give me time to also study and sharpen my Math/Programming skills. I plan to rent a shop that is big enough so that I can also be sleeping/living there.

Now I seriously need advicing because this is such a turning point in my life and the next few years is going to make or break me because there is no room for any disastrous bad decision cry
stay in Lagos, instead start a tech based startup, your company and provide tangible value.

Greetings my fellow nairalanders...... good morning to you all....and trust we are all doing well??

I am an undergraduate studying in one of the prestigious universities that in the Southeast even thou am in my finals and I'm in my early twenties as well...and a male.
I have lots of challenges bothering me lately I would like to share with the house to help me proffer solutions.

First and foremost,
I am a very terrible conversationalist,as in i struggle and finds it difficult to initiate and hold simple, good and quality conversations coupled with the fact that I am introvert as well which I feel makes it worse(it fair for guys and worst for girls)I find it difficult to keep conversation flowing .... except in mostly extremely rare cases.i recently found out that people would rate you based on first impression and am not the kind of person that give out that first impression upon our first meeting.
Due to my introverted nature I hardly relate with people, hardly make new friends and as well avoid social activities and engagement.
I also lack confidence and am kinda shy....

I don't also have quick thinking ability. As a result I find it difficult to properly articulate my thoughts and express clearly my own opinion, contribution and suggestions in a given topics of interest......I also don't understand concepts, ideas quickly unless its someone I have known and have been discussing with for a very long time(my understanding ability is not strong).
N.B:I also say things off point.

I also have the problem of bonding......like I don't easily bond with people....it is extremely difficult for me to do so....I had this problem with my previous roommate and having same problems with my current roommate(not like and troublesome oh).... I have come to realize that communication strengthens bond btw two individuals especially especially if its on area of interest for both parties

lastly,
I discovered that I was an effeminate man....... I discovered that my upbringing contributed to and played a major role in this one ......

pls my fellow nairalanders help me......how can I overcome all this....pls your input and contributions will be greatly appreciated...

I just think I need one on one counsel....
Go and JCI, Lions Club or Toastmasters international. Watch and listen to Public speakers. Get books on public speaking, confidence is a skill you can develop it

I recently received an inheritance and now have over ₦150-million just sitting here, doing nothing. I need solid advice on how best to invest this money. I’m looking for a moderate to high-yield investment that won’t be affected by the depreciation of the naira.

Let’s be real ….. we’ve all seen how bad the naira has devalued over the years. The last thing I want is to put my money into something, only to wake up in a few years and realize its value has been slashed into half. You know what I mean. Even if the business is in naira, it has to be highly profitable so that currency depreciation won’t eat away it.

I don’t want meaningless or negative suggestions…. only serious, well-thought-out opinions . I’m open to meeting up as well….. to discuss solid business ideas, and trust me, a handsome reward awaits whoever brings the best proposal.

That said, let me be clear:
I have the Commissioner of Police and EFCC on speed dial. If anyone thinks this is an opportunity for a scam, just know that any fraudulent attempt will be dealt with the full extent of the law.

If you have a genuine, profitable, and well-researched idea, let’s talk.
I have something that will benefit you a lot, but I can't explain it here, in summary it's a business that requires corporate structure and has arbitrage benefits, you can as well get foreign investors upwards of $150k for owning 10% of your business if you follow the lay down processes, if you are interested in getting more details chat me up on 08089456258
