When you are ignorant about something, you mind how you make your contribution so that everyone around will not detect the depth of your ignorance the moment you open your mouth. The government owned refineries and Dangote refinery, put together when operating at full capacity can all produced just about a million litres of fuel per day while the Nigerian daily fuel consumption is currently put at about 4.5m per day, so please tell us where you expect the government to get about 3.5m litre from on daily basis without giving room to importation? You allow your hatred for the incumbent president to strip you of your ability to think straight and boom you are praising OBJ for playing down on the effort of a president that is just about 2years in office. OBJ that you should have ask to tell the people what prevent him from reviving the refineries during his 8 good years in office as a president.
Lol
And I'm the ignorant one

Is this why Dangote reduced his price?

Very much so . He is not comfortable because he has not been allowed full monopoly.

But the guy is right na. I thought government said they want to be using the subsidy money for more productivity!

instead of them to create a consortium to create their own refinery

They have their refineries outside the country and that's why they want the importation to continue.
CHAQUR: 8:45am On May 13
Dangote is here to take advantage of the government not putting its own refineries into optimal use which in turn allows for this overhyped importation. He's not loyal too as the cost of the locally produced fuel shouldn't even be this close to the imported ones despite all the logistics costs involved. His should have been around ₦500 to ₦600. & that would have phased out this importation.

Economic voodoo.

The removal of petrol subsidy ought to have killed the importation of petrol in Nigeria.
The payment of secret subsidy is ongoing
Gboss247(m): 9:30am On May 13
zero8zero:

Your education is voodoo. Subsidy removal does not automatically stop Importation anywhere in the world, it rather decentralizes the market. Even US still dey import fuel.
US imports cheaper petrol and export expensive petrol while Nigeria does the opposite

Let the war between Oil marketers and Dangote continue as long as it favours the common man.
Which war?

It's called a free market.
Free with secret subsidy, imagine Nigeria claiming to import cheaper from Europe when Europe is globally known to refine and sell the world most expensive petrol.
Gboss247(m): 9:35am On May 13
booz:
Don't be surprised the marketers are fighting for the masses. Knowing what Dangote did with cement (now sold for 11k/bag), such evil shouldn't befall PMS, which is a key driver of the Nigerian economy. If those marketers unanimously decide to hands with Dangote, the latter would wreck the economy, such that everyone would rather ride a bicycle than burn fuel.
Fighting for masses by importing substandard expensive petrol while receiving secret subsidy from crude collateralized dollars loans, continue to nonsense!
Gboss247(m): 9:35am On May 13
Praise202:

I totally agree, but the question is for how long?
In check by importing substandard expensive petrol with secret subsidy
Gboss247(m): 9:36am On May 13

cement that dangotee is producing with free limestone in Nigeria is costlier than wat he sells to neighbouring countries..dangotee is d problem here
Free limestone?

One thing i don't understand, who is giving them license to import, when we now have functional refineries in the country
One thing I understand is that Nigeria import there so-called cheap petrol in Europe when Europe sells the most expensive petrol
Gboss247(m): 9:41am On May 13
Love800:
But the maketers are still helping to check-mate dangote, because dangote with monopoly can still increase it to that same 1500!
They have been checking-mating with secret subsidy borrowed with crude collateralized dollar loans
Gboss247(m): 9:41am On May 13
Mamaafrik1:
we need to sell the other three other refineries to BUA and fellow competitors.
In 2025, you are still deceiving with competition?
Gboss247(m): 9:43am On May 13
gbengene1234:
Dangote and the Marketers should never align. It will be disastrous for the masses. Nigerians need both to be at loggerhead to reshape the oil sector. Ati Dangote, ati Marketers. They both don't have the interest of the masses at heart.
The government that has the interest of the masses at heart keep borrowing dollar loans to import and subsidy expensive substandard petrol, what a good heart?

You are the ignorant one if you don't know the prices you are being given should be way lower than what you are buying as a result of the crash in prices.

These guys are helping keep Dangote's exploitative tendencies in check.
By importing aldutrated fuel that burns rapidly

FG should ban importation to encourage springing up of more refineries.
Its not about Dangote and trying to kill Monopoly

Hahahaha.

For years, people had been provided refinery licences and failed.

You now want government to ban importation so that you can finally slaughter Dangote?

Rather it's dangote who's checkmating them by constantly reducing price. Last year August, he wanted to flood the market by selling at 500 naira but nnpc hijacked it. To be among those stooges
