I agree with everything you said, and yes, it truly a harsh reality and that is why whenever someone indicates interest to me in doing self-development activities, I always let them know that they have to do this because it makes them happy and feel good, not because they want women to flock around them, Because "expectations" is a major cause of disappointment.
