A question for those who have relocated with kids to the uk, what’s the process to get your kids in school? I’m due to relocate end of September and since primary schools would have started before I arrive I want to know how will the kids get itted and did apply for space before you arrive or application is after arrival even though the school term is already in session

You will need proof of address and date of arival of the kids in the UK so yes you need to fly in first then make and in year application. Accept a school that will take all the kids hope this helps

UPDATE on Visa switch within the uk after curtailment

After a year plus in the uk with an unreliable employer that brought us in. No shifts, excuses, pregnancy redundancy etc. sought for cos for over a year and we no see. Decided to back down. Shockingly the employer curtailed our leaved without prior information. Para entered body as we have kids, properties etc. the day the we got the email from home office with 4 attachments of the curtailment letters, I was shocked, couldn't work, lost hope felt like my life has been cut short.
I came back home and told my wife that we MUST get cos within 7days if we apply the same strategy we used when we got from Nigeria. We swung into action, met a solicitor in London, that one too carry more para our existing para say make we use our uk born baby get papers bla bla bla. I went through all the immigration laws, council website, citizen advice and even found out a help on it for displaced carers etc. from same website, it took me to another website that showed licenced health and care employers in the uk only. I had to add some tech skills in my search, applying to every part of uk from England to northern Ireland to Scotland to wales and gracefully I got this employer that is leaving 30 mins walk away from us, listened to our story, had interview and gave offer followed by a cos without a dime. Infact we told the employer we would pay isc after it was assigned, employer no gree I started suspecting the COS sef. All of these happened within 5 days. The employer assigned the cos and kept quiet. After like 3 more days we asked the employer about the way forward and employer said it has been done. We said ah ah, send us the document naaa, boom email entered and it was it. Employer hasn't done it before and we appeared to be the first to be assigned by the company, lots of mistakes including sub category, work duration (1 year then corrected to 3 years) and missing ISC charge. Sponsor note was added and we applied with priority as our 60 days is already counting down. Then emailed isc and business helpdesk including work sponsor team concerning the isc error and the payment ref that was made after the error. They acknowledged the email within 24 and telling us they have returned our application to case work and Within another 24 hours case worker approved it. Its been about 17days from the time of curtailment to successful application. From the time of visa application to approval was just 3 days with priority and id app identity check.
I am happy to share this post.

Thank you. We got offers to pay 12k some say dem wan give us uk ordinary skilled worker cos that is not even on shortage occupation list. E better say i pay for care cos 12k than to go for free of that one talk more of the paid one. The money no dey sef to even pay for any cos. Was left with the option of free cos or back to Nigeria. Gracefully we got one without a dime. As im typing this thing, I only spent 784 for main applicant, 284 for me x2 kids. Chikina!

Hey you dont need proof of funds at all. Just go ahead and apply with his documents marriage cert, family pictures etc and u will be fine

1. There were no false records, with everything correctly input. No bloating of figures, and no large sudden deposits

2. Proof of employment was provided via an introduction letter from her employer (a bank)

3. Proof of marriage was included (marriage certificate)

4. Her salary as well as savings and USD was provided (no large sudden deposits)

5. We don’t own any properties unfortunately

6. The introduction letter didn’t include her exact leave details and travel dates. However neither did mine and I was given the visa last year, and this wasn’t mentioned as a reason for refusal in her refusal letter.

7. This letter was provided with detailed itinerary

8. 6 months statements were provided from hers as well as my s

9. Accommodation reservation was provided via a travel agent, the same agent I had used last year for my own visa

10. There was no movement of funds into the she provided (she uses another for piggyvest, other investments and general expenditures)

This is why it was so confusing why she was denied, especially the exact reason given (her personal monthly income [450k monthly] was not sufficient to cover the cost of stay in the country [850k] even though we clearly stated that I was the sole sponsor of our trip).

I see no strong ties to your home country in ur application. Instead the Visa officer used ur wife as home ties by denying her. There are no kids (in boarding school maybe), no properties and no private running business even with the fat balances. The officer feels its easy for you guys to loose guard in the uk with ur acct balances. Also there has to be a leave letter from her employer as well.

Someone said it means nothing. Pls It means something. The Case worker saw sth and escalated your application to a senior worker who will now decide on it after been queued with other applications. At this stage they may request for additional documents or just let it fly.

Yes you know more than me Sir.
Then apply since your mom bringing your kids is a big reason for visa to be issued.. As bringing of kids via cross country is a right. Do not prove her ties at all. Do not work on her personal circumstances at all.
Tell the ECO that because she is bringing your kids then the visa should be issued. Do not do your due diligence. Pls tell them exactly how you have weighed it here.

There is no lockdown in place. Of course you can travel. Annual leaves, Emergency carer’s leave, comionate leave, unpaid leave etc are in place for a reason. My point is please work on your trip intention. Bringing your kids is not reason for ECO to issue visa if her PERSONAL circumstances are shaky. It can be a reason sha, what do I know.

I might know more than you do from your comments. I just needed someone who is experienced to respond to me. You dont even know my job and ur saying carer, you dont even know when i started job and ur saying annual leave, u didn't even see what i said about flashing of acct and you said unpaid leave. My mum bringing my biological kids is a big reason for visa to be issued. Kids need to us asap. None of us can travel and we have a baby here who doesn't even have a port. Asking one person to travel is also asking the other person to be on leave.

Let me put it this way, they don’t see any reason why you should just wake up and decide to come to UK. U can visit other places. If it then must be UK, then convince me why you really need to make the trip.
From the above you have written, you have made it a case of getting travel hx for her bcus she was denied US visa. In that way, you would go on to treat the whole application with levity and then come back with a refusal. It is no longer as so.

Hi everyone. I want to apply for my mum's visa to brink our 2 kids from Nigeria. I am working and my wife is working as well and we've got a comfortable apartment for everyone to us. I want to know what documents my mum has to submit for her visa application and how to go about it. She has been denied US visa once and the second application didn't go through due to covid restrictions that year. No travel history. So I want to use this opportunity to let her have a travel history. She is a pensioner and also heading a school and has got some appointments in the church that she is handling as well. I am looking at them coming over by end of November. My Dad is alive and a pensioner too. Due to circumstances, I may not be able to flash statement of but can show pay slips. She will flash her own cos he has enough funds for her stay. What advice/documents do y'all think she can submit to strengthen her application and what duration of stay do I state too. Any help will be appreciated.
