Damn... the fault is entirely on Fed government.
They no want make students go school.
Since December 2020 wey ASUU don suspend their strike why govt no from there arrange everything?
This Fulani govt no value education, them want make everybody be illiterate like dem.
YEYE govt.

Both are to be blame, but FG is to be blamed more

Firstly, FG is a disgrace to this country as a whole nation not because of ASUU but because of everything going on in this country.

As for ASUU their low salaries is a fault from their organization not FG cause while in school some lecturers usually boost of being well paid and our handout money is nothing to them, some even see their selves as gods to students. I would agree that some are less paid but look into it you will find out that some are being over paid while those once are the ones suffering. ASUU strike is for their selfish reasons not for students, and people should stop insisting they are not paying them because recently the federal government threatened to stop paying them when they on strike signifying they are receiving their pays when they are still on strike, so who is fooling who?

FG for me is a failure they failed the country and keeps failing the country, but ASUU are not trust worthy to me, I don't just feel their intentions are 100% for the students.

My own opinion though.

Am I the only one having this issue with mtn, talking using my credit or airtime and exhausting it more while my call is going on

sad angry

Once a call is on going and you have less than 50 naira credit. There is something mtn always do and I think it's fraudulent.

While you still have small airtime and the call is going on, an mtn voice will start talking and reminding you that you have low credit using your on credit and exhausting the more.

This is fraudulent, why can't they send a simple text or allow the call to end Why issue me a reminder using my own airtime? And then you also paused my call while talking and finish my credit.

This is a fraud I don't know who else is experiencing it.

"A man and his wife went to the zoo. They found a Monkey who was ionately playing with his female. His wife said to him, "What a romantic animal."

Then, they found a Lion and his Lioness separated from each other; the silent Lion sat alone in his corner as if the Lioness doesn't exist. His wife said to him, "What a sad scene without love."

Her husband then said to her, “Throw that stone at the Lioness and watch.” When she threw the stone at the Lioness, the Lion roar to defend his Lioness, then she was asked to repeat it with the Monkey, the Monkey then jumped up and climbed the tree and abandoned his female to save his own skin.

Her husband then told her, “Do not be deceived by what you see as romance in outward show, often times, it is a deceptive appearance just to hide an empty heart; there are others on the contrary who are relaxed, but their hearts are full of sincere love."

Presently, we have so many in the monkey shadow, and few Lion nowadays."

That would be unfair to persons who have higher IQ. Some have high IQ but really poor at memorizing things, they prefer to recognize it in their own way, which will definitely affect their performance and you have people with low IQ who can give it back to the teacher verbatim without being able to break it down to their understanding.

In school I found 90% of questions my mates asked very annoying; and these were the scholars of the class, yet they kept on asking stupid questions. On my part, I found it difficult to study with pace, I got distracted easily. Then I end up reading up to 60% of the text a night to the exam, and I barely revised. So my performance would’ve been really poor if my questions were more difficult.

As they say, life no balance and that’s just how it is.

True!

I once knew a guy who score 350+ in utme to tell you how intelligent he is but he is a dummy like he is not smart.

So I would put it like this,

1. Been Intelligent

This is very necessary in your academics.

2. Been Brilliant (smart)

This is necessary for survival.

In my school I do watch two sets of people, those bookwarm they always read like they never gets tired even me I do read but I hate complex mathematics and equations I prefer something that relates that topic to real life so I can stimulate it, that way it stays longer in my head. Now to the other set of persons these guys don't read but they have a way of cheating in the exam hall you can never catch them one was even taken to the front where lecturers was sitting they were 4 lecturers they and this dude still outsmart them using his phone to cheat so of us are looking at it as cheating but that's what we humans are, we were designed to figure out the easiest way out, how to make life easy.

So don't be surprised that those bookwarms might be intelligent but the other guys might have more IQ

All the talk they have been talking since the strike was called off, what results did it yield? Have you been following the process to know if ASUU dialogued with FG or not?

Tell us yur findings lets know the way forward.

Both FG and ASUU are to be blamed, but FG has to take more of the blame cause they are very useless in this Country, as for ASUU they are same as FG they are only fighting for their own benefits cause apart from revitalization, they are failures.

Most lecturers can't teach, get upset unnecessarily, most of them are literally wicked, some chasing after female students.

My grouse with ASUU is that after years of criticizing successive governments, once they have a chance at governance, they fail woefully to correct the bad system they criticised while in ASUU. From the vice chancellors to the ministers of education etc and even the current vice president were all ASUU !

The above statement points to the fact that the whole patriotic struggles -- like they put it, is all about their selfish ends while making it appear like it's about the interests of students and their parents. That's why I have my reservations about the whole matter.

Look at people like Adamu Adamu whom I understand is an ant and also has a masters degree and must have had a feel of the rots in the system, Vice President Osinbajo was also a lecturer and a professor at that. Even Ngige is a medical doctor and SHOULD KNOW (I believe anybody with an honest PhD or professional qualification is knowledgeable enough and should understand the rot in our universities). How about other political appointees of this government like the SSG( a professor and once ASUU member), NUC ES (professor and ASUU member), JAMB registrar ( professor and ASUU member) etc

Why can't all these people make a case at the level of government for a better university system? Why can't ASUU create that fraternal bond with her in government that would better the ugly situation of our universities (NMA comes to mind)? Their failure to do that gives me the impression that their so called patriotic struggle is nothing but some self centered agenda for those of them at the top echelon to satisfy their selfish interests at the expense of students.

Bro you are very right.

The Federal Government has been criticized over the lingering strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.

Deji Adeyanju, convener of Concerned Nigerians, said it’s unacceptable that the Federal Government can’t properly fund public universities.

He lamented that the public university system in Nigeria is built to frustrate students and lecturers.

In a chat with DAILY POST on Sunday, the Abuja-based lawyer and rights activist, said the government waste billions on irrelevant things but can’t fund education.

Adeyanju further backed the decision of ASUU to remain on strike.

According to Adeyanju: “Only those who have a taste of what education should look like will ASUU strike: I the ASUU strike 100% because if you observe how properly coordinated and funded private universities are, then you will realize that our public universities are hellholes.

“The whole public university system in Nigeria is built to frustrate both students and lecturers. Government can waste billions on irrelevance but can’t fund our universities. This is unacceptable.”

It is called the daylight saving time. The origin of this practice is not really known but it became prominent during the world War. It was first nationally accepted by to increase productivity. However, the idea is made more popular because of the weather : During winter, it is usually dark by 5p.m and before you know it, everyone is more interested in going home to rest physically or in their mindset. The govt, in their wisdom, decide to substract 1 hour during the winter and add 1hour during the summer.

Wisdom!!!

If you want to keep your intestines inside your tummy. When you go bush walking and you come across ‘Skippy’ the friendly Grey Kangaroo.. and you think that you can go up and pat him.. Don’t!

Just leave Skippy alone. Skippy is 2m tall, weighs about 100kg and he has an attitude problem when it comes to people wanting to pat him.

Then again Skippy the Grey Kangaroo is still far friendlier than his cousin from Alice Springs. Roger, the Red Kangaroo. He likes to crush steel cans for fun and if he gets you, he will do the same to you.. you will never out run Roger.

That year at Kruger park, South Africa... Lions are just too big to toil around with

But it's true though I do overlook their size on TV mistaking them to be slightly larger than Dogs.

If they are this big I wonder how big a Hippo or Rhino will be compare to humans.

Lions and tigers are MUCH bigger than a good number of people think. Seeing them in person really gives you a nice perspective. A decent number of people imagines them as slightly bigger than the biggest dogs which is very wrong. At their biggest they are grizzly bear sized. Speaking of their weight, length and height doesn’t do them justice, even though I knew their sizes perfectly well I was still shocked at how big they are when I first saw them in person. Even the biggest dogs look completely tiny next to them. Their heads are massive, their bodies are massive, everything about them is massive.

Why don't you build her a house?"

Cristiano Ronaldo replies:

"My mother raised me and she dedicated her life for me. She would go to sleep hungry, just to let me eat. We had no money at all.

She worked 7 days a week and nights as a maid to buy my first shoes so I could be a player. All my success is dedicated to her and because of her and as long as she has a life, she will always be by my side, she has everything I can give.

She is my refuge and my greatest gift."

Those people insulting and talking trash were people who were happy when ASUU embarked on strike...

Well that's there problem, I keep making money.

I wasn't saying ASUU strike is good but the strike can be taken advantage of instead of being idle.

This persons insulting will still return back to school broke despite the break period because they don't want to learn anything and they are still hindering people who want to.

What a pity to them.

People can still go to school while learning this stuff, school is one of the best place to do marketing self.

ASUU strike is not a blessing not even one in disguise even me I made lots of money the last time, I even gained photography skill and graphical skill but still it's better I finish one and do the other cause I can't be thinking of Corel draw and Photoshop and still thinking of Linear programming.

Good day Nairalanders,

I have a question to ask.

Have any of you ever experienced this feeling whereby you leave your love ones (parents, spouse, siblings, relative or close friend) for let's say a month (maybe above), you know you going to see them again but you bust into tears whenever you have thoughts of them, you broke down emotionally first trying to hold in the tears but you eventually letting it out and it increases anytime you see their belongings or their pictures.

Please let me know your experience.

Pardon my write-up I am not perfect in English and feel free to correct me thanks.

A Lagos lawmaker, Mr Rasheed Makinde, has advised the Federal Government and striking workers’ unions in Nigerian universities to resolve disagreements for students to return to school for academic activities.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the ongoing industrial action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), and the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) has grounded academic activities in public universities.

Makinde, a two-term lawmaker, representing Ifako- Ijaiye Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, made this plea while presenting a free Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration to 350 indigent students in the constituency.

“The issue is on the exclusive list which the Lagos State or any state cannot interfere in.

“It is the issue of the Federal Government and I believe, they (Federal Government and the striking university unions) are on negotiating table of which the Federal Government will attend them.

“In due course, I believe they will call off the strike and resume back to school,” Makinde said.

The lawmaker, who noted that the development of education was part of his manifestoes, said that many indigent students who had benefitted from the free UTME registration since 2015 were now graduates.

He said: “Why I do this is as a result of many testimonials this initiative of FREE UTME/JAMB has brought to my table, as we now have graduates of this initiative who are now doing marvelously well in various organisations, both public and private.

“This initiative since commencement in 2015, we have been able to reach out to 1,050 genuine beneficiaries.

“This year, we have been able to reach out to over 350 direct beneficiaries with the of the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr Idris Salako, and others.”

He urged the beneficiaries to justify his investment in education, by focusing on their studies to get the required scores for ission into their respective universities of choice.
