Let's start off on this note.
- is the suspension with pay or without pay. Expectedly, it's with pay.
- is there a letter of suspension. If so, did the letter mentioned... suspension in view of investigation towards disciplinary hearing ... If the letter includes statement similar to the italic, you would be under the ambit of labour matter. Then ACAS becomes your go-to for advice or to lodge complaint towards employment Tribunal.
If not, you might have to go the Court route on civil litigation. Going employment dispute might work best though.
PS: Bigtt76 asked if there's a recording. Kindly answer this.
If you're unsure, you'll need to demand.
NB: it appears your friend has been opening his mouth too wide. In law, silence is golden. One does not go gara gara, especially the typical 9ja way.
Herewith within the limit of one-sided [audi alteram partem]
-- ex patient or service raised a sexual complaint
At the time of the alleged incident, it the patient a subsisting patient or ex patient
-- against her previous carer
Ditto, at the time of incident, is she, the patient, ex or current.
Was the complaint filed while a patient or ex patient
Is the patient claiming she stopped/revoke the care service due to the incidence
-- since last year August and he has been suspended from work ever since ... till now the issue is still on the table
From Aug 2022, we are looking upward of 9 mths. That's gross. Can investigation takes so long, yes it can. Should it, heck no.
Bearing no unforseen or unknown fact, your friend is within his right to file (labour) employment dispute. Link: ACAS: Investigations for discipline ...
Approaching ACAS should be the first step, however, in most certainty, your friend might need a good employment lawyer. Obviously, not charge and bail!!!
-- mentioned hes schooling in a university,
As mentioned earlier, your friend must learn to be circumspect with words while not uneconomical or labeled as uncooperative. It's a balance within the ambit of ... reserve the right to be silent 😷
-- so they now went ahead to write the Uni to inform them hes under investigation so the uni asked him to stay away until he is cleared ... ... the police have been invited and they couldnt find any evidence of misbehavior.
In this instance, let your friend approach the university with the police report (findings). On the basis of ... innocent until proven guilty ... the university should lift the bar.
If not, your friend lodge a dispute with the university ombudsman (if there's one) and/or OIAHE: Office of the Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education
Let your friend read more from Office for Students - https://www.officeforstudents.org.uk/for-students/ofs-and-students/complaints/complaints-about-a-university-or-college/
PS: if your friend can afford it, let him approach the likes of HCB Solicitor (hcbgroup {dot} com).
-- that very week wahala started
You mentioned earlier that ... It took months for the details of the so called offence that led to safeguard was even known o ...
Which is which. Kindly clarify.

Two things:
1. Don't overthink it. After application, but before document , a lot will be clearer.
2. Be honest, and let it make sense to an intelligent person. For instance, You can't say your Mum earns N35k but has N4m in her . It's mostly likely a lie and doesn't even make sense.
Now for your questions:
Yes, you should Employment Letter, Bank Statements and Payslips where possible. It's better to have to much evidence than too little.
There's no average amount but let it make sense. If your Mum is visiting for a Month, how much do you honestly think will be needed? Maybe £1k for flight, £200 per week for hosting her and another £500 for shopping. So £2k or £3k for the month visit.
You need to your Mum's Bank Statement too. I think they want to see that her financial footprints aligns with the occupation or status quoted so this usually a big reason for rejection. If she has too much or little activities for her status.
Affidavit, that's just weird, fam.
To strengthen your application will be in two letters:
1. Cover Letter from the Application (your Mum) explaining her visit, any gray areas, and proving that she will not overstay by showing she has ties to her home Country like landed properties, family , other activities, etc.
2. Invitation/Sponsorship Letter from you and your brother. Again explaining your living conditions, your income, any gray areas in your finances or statements, just generally convincing the Officer that you indeed want your Mum to visit and you're capable of hosting her without bothering the system.
Don't be afraid to throw in pictures of you and Mum, birth certificates, etc.
I could go on and on but you get the gist. I've seen people denied for so many reasons:
1. Not enough evidence that the visitor is related to the person inviting as a relative
2. Fake or too much unexplained inflow in the
3. Not enough evidence that the person inviting really wants the applicant to come. This one is a little funny.
4. Insufficient proof of financial sponsorship
5. Insufficient proof that the applicant will return home after the visit.
ETC... I don't wanna make this too long, but feel free to ask any question.
Thank you for detailing this.
My mum does not work but she has like 200k in the . (She's a trader but I can't prove this so I'm going with the option of She's not working).
I'm just wondering how much I should put in her before printing statement or if I should print with the 200k like that.

I want to apply for visitor visa for my mum. The visit will be sponsored by myself and my brother. Do I need to attach bank statement or payslip and employment letter is enough.
If bank statement is necessary, on average what balance should be in it.
Also someone suggested I get an affidavit from a lawyer backing the visit. Has anyone used this approach before?
Do I need to submit my mum's bank statement as well?
Any clues to strengthen the application?
If you have applied for your parents and it was denied please share the reason 🙏
All suggestions are welcome.

He has to go to Nigeria to get a divorce. Anyway these aren’t straight forward either. My friend is in a similar situ and the divorce has been in court for 2 years now. Nigeria courts would frustrate you. This is an uncontested divorce btw. And he has to be physically present at every hearing. In March he travelled to Nigeria and the court didn’t even seat anymore.
Not fair. He’s been unable to move on with his life as well.
Yeah...I hinted on this in my follow-up comment especially for a new marriage.
Like someone suggested, the guy should count his losses and move on, the lady will remain single for a long time or explore the baby mama route in which case she'll still be seperated from his supposed fiance because whether she changes visa or not, her marriage is on record with UKVI.
It is possible she didn't leave the marriage because of her old relationship too. There could be other reasons.

Your friend needs to focus on untying himself from her, and be less preoccupied with revenge.
E don happen, e don happen. Way forward lo ku.
This is just the way to go.
She will come looking for your friend for permission when it's time to marry another man.
When I say permission, you can't marry two men (in court), you must divorce one and the conditions to divorce in Nigeria without the other partner go tire her seff.

Hello everyone. Pls help my friend, he's been a victim of dependent visa in the UK.
He met the said wife few years ago and they developed genuine relationship leading to marriage. Unknown to him the lady only stayed in the relationship and pretended to be in love because she knew of his plans to travel abroad one day.
Who is the dependant now and what type of visa. I don't want to make any assumptions.

Please take this to the group.
Next time, rather than going through the corners, tap the guys and say to them straight up "bros mind your mouth, be like say person dey record una conversation "
The reason for this is too long to type. But if you put yourself in their shoes, you will find out that you would prefer the person tells you straight up than continuing to use signals you don't understand.

Yes, I want to but she said i shouldn't worry. I asked the amount but i never got response when my insistence was much she said circa 15million which is not true cos its not care work that you'd paid for COS and the coy paid our tickets.
It's very possible to spend that amount on relocating a family. Do the calculation yourself with black market rate you will be shocked.
From your writeup, your wife seems to be a responsible woman, she does not disturb you when she knows you don't have.

As I read through the post and responses, I kept changing what I want to comment. Apparently she has taken a lot of front roles in the family that she now assumes control. After all you 'depend' on her.
You guys need a lot of communication at this time, she needs to understand its no longer business as usual where the man alone is financially responsible for the family. She still thinks she did you a favour bringing you here, make her understand it wasn't a favour because you guys are family so the rlnship should not be transactional (don't sound ungrateful though).
Above all, you need to assume control and authority back. Unfortunately, to do this, your residency will not have to depend on hers. So it's up to you to be patient or get your own sponsorship.
In the meantime, you guys can start with a t , all bills, debts and family expenditure is done from the t so that there won't be the issue of who is responsible for what. At month end, 80% of your incomes goes into the t , 20% is left for personal use.

By new applicants, do you mean new dependants or new students?
If the regulation is ed, you are a student here and your family is not here already, just forget it.

When you were travelling, did you withdraw all your money, tied in a sack and threw it away?
Or would you have postponed your flight and deferred your resumption on the assumption that 'your new employer IN UK may owe you salary from day 1'?
Except you were expressly told there may not be work to do, then it is your employer who should be called to order here.

If it was a normal contract the employer would be liable to pay in full at the end of every month for as long as the contract subsists, regardless of whether they give shifts.
I've been thinking about this as well. There is a minimum salary requirement for tier 2 visa. So the employee is supposed to be paid in full whether there is shift or not.
Here is the issue, he who wants equity must come with clean hands. If the employee reports none payment of salary to HO, HO will take action. But they can't report because the company will go down and they'll lose their jobs.

Dear ancestors in the house,
Good day.
I want to apply for car insurance and would like to know which is more cost-effective: whether to buy the insurance with my International driving permit or to first apply for a UK provisional license.
For the preliminary insurance searches, I was seeing annual cost of £700 for a 2010 1.5L engine SUV (insurance group 17E, married, 30-40yrs). Seems quite high to me. Correct me if I'm wrong please.
Tenks.
Buy the insurance on the license you want to drive the car with. If you intend to drive with you int'l license, buy the insurance on it. If you intend to drive with provisional license, buy the insurance on it.
If you buy on the provisional license and any incident happens, your insurance is automatically invalidated if you didn't meet the requirements to drive with it (i.e being accompanied by someone and have L plates on the vehicle) and you won't be able to make any claims.

With the current rates, many Mortgage payments are higher than rents. Typically, someone in a 2 bed flat paying £800 gets a Mortgage for 3 bed house and monthly payments jump to £1,500 or more.
If affordable, it's a good opportunity EVEN with the increased payment.
You're right, the talks of rent being (almost) the same as mortgage payment was before. Now the difference is clear.
But if it's affordable, mortgage is good.
