Firstly, I was referring to how APC presented a ticket that has a northern Muslim in order to split the North’s bloc vote. I said “next time, APC should present a ticket with a South easterner to split the SE bloc vote” . I didn’t say APC or Tinubu should have picked his running mate from the SE. The word next time was simply referring to the future. It’s APCs business if they want to present an all south ticket in the future, they already presented a Muslim-Muslim ticket, so I wouldn’t be surprised.

The voting pattern isn’t a new thing. The north has always voted like that, it’s not a South East thing. Tinubu splitted those northern votes by picking up a northern Muslim as running mate. You guys respected the north by picking a running mate from amongst them so they can give you their votes, and you want to blackmail the East into voting for you.

Next time, APC should pick a SEasterner to split East votes and see if the north will not give all their votes to a Northerner. It’s only wrong to you when the SE does it.

I challenge you to name one instance where the Igbos have voted on the basis of personal conviction like the Yorubas have always voted, in 2015 even with Osibanjo on the ticket of the APC, the PDP still got considerable votes from the south west, same goes for the 2019 elections. Even the just concluded elections, obi won Tinubu in Lagos Atiku won Tinubu in Osun state, but we all saw the margins with which Obi won in the south east.

So my question to you is how could you term the Yorubas bigots when they are indeed the only region that has been politically libral.

Check the percentage of the votes Obi got from the south east and from the Igbos who reside out of the south east and see if indeed they voted based on merit or rather based on tribal sentiments, what happened in lagos was disgraceful no doubt, but a times such drastic methods needs to be taken to make a point, if not how can the Igbos expect the majority of Yorubas to vote out a performing governor like Sanwo olu for one I T architect who has never managed or hold any senior position in his life. Until Christ returns, I would never understand why the Igbos would prefer An inexperienced GRV to a more experienced Sanwo olu who clearly performed and exceeded all expectations.

Don’t make it a matter of Peter Obi - Easterners have been voting in bloc since 1999. It didn’t start with Obi. You would have loved it if they had given the bloc votes to Tinubu/APC. They gave bloc votes to a Fulani man in 2019, bloc votes to an Ijaw man in 2011 and 2015, bloc votes to a Fulani man in 2007. Why is it now a problem in 2023? Oh it is a problem because they are Igbos and not northern muslims.
