You can assess as ICT customer Officer or ICT technician with trades Australia. ICT customer Officer is still available on 489 for South Australia for the program year 2018/2019, however, the outcome of your assessment may not be ready until July if you start now, so plan for next program year with these two occupations. Your HND is enough for assessment and it will give you 10 points You should be able to get at least 5points for experience of 3yrs or 10points if you can claim 5yrs out of your experience. Check your age points and what you can get in English Draybaba0103: 2 Likes |

Great response @Alphadoor @Mo234, When drafting the statutory declaration, ensure your job description is fully aligned with the occupation Anszco description as set out by ACS in order not to loose points. Alphadoor: |

Kindly provide dates for these certifications. You've got quite a wide range of choice for occupation. We need to find an occupation that can give you maximum point for ITA based on the date you met the skilled level for the occupation. Also note that IT occupations are very competitive. Chijiuche: |

Boss, the job title on my appointment letter and references was Business Analyst but I successfully assessed as ICT project manager. Based on my personal experience, I'll say the anzco description of the job responsibilities is what is most important in having a positive outcome for the desired occupation and not the job title. Lifted0902: Boss, your PgDip will give you 15points, whilst your HND will give you 10points. You can assess with your HND for occupations on skill level 2, but with a skill level 1 occupation you need a minimum of bachelor's degree to have a positive outcome and that is why I suggested ICT customer so that you can claim maximum point for your degree later with your pgDip when applying and also claim high enough points on experience however you will still need to compare the competition for invitations on any occupation you choose in order to assess your chances. The occupation you use to get your visa is completely inconsequential to the job you will choose to do when you arrive Aussie. 1 Like |

DoDirtsLikeWorm: 1. Yes sir, it's very much possible but in this case, ICT project manager is a skill level 1 occupation that requires a minimum of bachelor's degree for positive outcome hence, only his PgDip will qualify. 2.If he were to assess for a skill level 2 or 3 occupation like ICT customer or ICT technician, then he will only need his Diploma degree either OND/HND to assess then claim his maximum degree point with his PgDip when filling an EOI through to visa application. 3. The reason I gave in point 1 above was why I asked for dates for his certifications. I am assuming his PMP MAY be used with his HND to qualify for ICT project Manager because ACS asseses other certifications on a case by case basis if he is willing to go for it and prove it. 1 Like |

Lifted0902: Great idea boss. Exactly what I did before deciding on my assessment options. Claiming partner points is dependent on the occupation you eventually choose to assess if it's on the same list as your partner's occupation. |

Lifted0902: Find below requirement to assess with a post graduate degree that do not require an ICT degree for ission: "A post graduate qualification (Graduate Diploma or Masters) that do not require a Bachelor with an ICT major for entry into the course, must have: • A minimum of 3 semesters or at least 1.5 years of full-time study (applies only to Australian post graduate qualifications) • At least 2 semesters or 1 year of full-time equivalent ICT content • A minimum of 12 units or subjects (overseas degrees may contain less units or subjects) • 50% ICT content for a 2 year Graduate Diploma or Masters qualification • 33% ICT content for a 3 year Graduate Diploma or Masters qualification" Kindly respond to these questions; 1. What are the dates on your certifications i.e. PMP & ITIL? 2. What is the duration of your PgDip in IT? 3. What is the percentage of ICT content of the Course? 4. Are the course contents related to the anzco units found here -->> http://www.acs.org.au/msa/anzsco-code-information.html ? A rough estimate of your points assuming your PG degree is not related to ICT project manager below: Age: 25pts Education: 15pts: Experience: 5pts (you will loose 5years; 4years before PgDip graduation and 1year after. You will be left with 3yrs) English: 20pts State sponsorship: 10pts Total: 75pts Based on the current trend, your best chance of getting a nomination for ICT project manager is South Australia on 489 but the occupation is on high point at the moment. Since you are open to go for a 489 nomination, I'll suggest you assess with TRA for ICT customer because it is still available on SA's state sponsorship with low points. With that you will be able to claim at least 5 yrs of work experience with your HND completion date. Your possible points will be; Age: 25pts Education:15 points (PgDip) English : 10pts Experience: 10pts State sponsorship: 10pts Total: 70pts |

Ibuske: He will loose points for experience (5-6yrs will be cut off) if he chooses to assess as a database because his first degree is not related to the job. He definitely needs those points from experience to match the points he has lost to his age bracket. Here is what I suggest but this is dependent on the risk appetite of your friend and how much he wants to make this move because he should be here making this findings for himself. He can choose to go assess as ICT technician if he can tailor his job responsibilities for it. He will assess with TRA, and will loose about 3yrs of experience. He may be lucky that TRA recognises NIIT certificate and he will only loose 2yrs. Then he can claim Age:15pts Degree:15pts(using his BSc) Experience: 10 -15pts English: 20pts State sponsorship 489: 10pts (South Australia) Total : 70/75pts Get in touch with TRA gurus in the house to help you with the application for assessment. It is very important that you package your application perfectly. 1 Like |

Ibuske: Your friend will loose point with experience if he/she assess for ICT occupation because his/her degree is not related and due to his/her age bracket he/she will not be able to compete if he/she eventually gets a positive outcome in skill assessment. ICT occupations are highly competitive. if your friend's role is data or database . If data , he/she may be able to assess as records manager with vetassess which is only available for 190 &489 visas. With that he/she should hope for the following points; Age : 15pts Degree: 15pts ( if his/her degree is from a tier 1 uni) Experience: 10pts English :20points State sponsorship: 5/10 Total:. 65/70 Note: records manager is a skill level 1 occupation and you can only qualify to assess for this if you attended a tier 1 University or a 5yr course in Nigeria. 1 Like |

andrewozed: Professional bodies like Engineers Australia and Australia Computer Society (ACS) have some occupations on skill level 2. I assume you are mixing electrical engineering draftperson up with electrical engineering technician. Kindly the occupation you want to assess. |

subcbouy:Happy New year boss!!! You can assess any "recognised" degree and experience from any country. Recognised degree means the degree has to be accredited by the education authority of such country. If the occupation you are nominating is an engineering field, you will assess via Engineers Australia (EA). It doesn't matter if your experience was in Nigeria, and your Degree obtained in UK. Lastly, if you are below 31yrs and have an Engineering degree from the UK, 476 visa may also be available for you. 2 Likes |

BetterPerson007: Good day boss, Age : 25pts Degree: 10pts Experience: 15pts English: 20pts (to aim for) Total: 70pts Is 189 right for you? Absolutely Is the occupation right? Engineering Technologist is a skilled level 1 occupation, you will need a bachelor's degree to successfully access for any skilled level 1 occupation. Secondly, Engineering Technologist is quite competitive. The bright side You can nominate "Fitter" otherwise known as "plant mechanic" with your degrees and experience in the manufacturing field. Fitter is much less competitive and gives you the opportunity to go for 189 and 190 or 489 with either Northern Territory or South Australia in case you get 10points for English. 2 Likes |

tunlex01:To submit your nomination application to SA, you will need your skills assessment, English test, port details of adult applicants, and work references if you are claiming points for experience. You will also need to declare how much money you have for migration based on your family composition, no evidence is required though. |
