Aftermath of Shanghai Shenhua's striker, Demba Ba's potentially career-threatening injury over the weekend in a Chinese Super League derby game, between his side and Shanghai SPG, where he had an horrific leg break after a seemingly harmless challenge from Opposition defender, Sun Xiang, we look at five of the most gruesome leg breaks in soccer over the years.
1. Djibril Cisse (Liverpool, 2004): Cisse suffered a horrific injury from a confrontation by Blackburn defender, Jay McEveley in a tense game at Elwood Park on 31st of October, 2004 resulting in him breaking his Tibia and Fibula. He was expected to be at least nine months out, but made a miraculous comeback in a champion’s league clash between Liverpool and Juventus on 13 April 2005.
2. Eduardo Da Silva (Arsenal, 2008): The former Arsenal Striker, had his Fibula snapped and his left ankle dislocated, aftermath of a tackle from Croatian International, Martin Taylor, in an EPL encounter between Arsenal and Birmingham on the 25th of February, 2008. He was ruled out for 12 months and was eventually sold to Shaktar Donetsk in July 2010.
3. Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal, 2010): The Wales International, suffered fractures to his Tibia and Fibula of his right leg in an EPL match against Stoke City on the 27th of February, 2010, after a silly tackle from stoke city's Ryan Showcross. He was out for exactly a year and a week as a result of the incidence.
4. Hartem Ben Arfa (Newcastle, 2010): From a heavy tackle by former Manchester City's Midfielder, Nigel De Jong, Ben Arfa had his leg broken in two places on October 3, 2010 in an encounter between Newcastle and Manchester City. He was out for nine months.
5. Luke Shaw (Man UT, 2015): The Man Utd.’s defender, suffered a double-leg injury after a shocking tackle from Hector Moreno of PSV in United's Champions’ League group stage clash with PSV last season. He was out for the remainder of last season.

The Republican National Convention was held yesterday (18th of July, 2016) in Cleveland, Ohio. With all the 'serious' stuff that was going on, one thing has particularly struck the minds of people - Melania Trump's speech.
Now, the reason the speech was the highlight was not particularly because it was the Martin-Luther-I-Have-A-Dream type speech but because certain parts of it were copied from Michelle Obama's speech at the Democratic National Convention in 2008.
This is particularly interesting as Trump (and his entire team) have placed more than half of their verbal 'hammers' during this campaign period on criticizing Obama('s istration) - his style of speech inclusive.

Written by Chisom Nlebedum
With the latest sanction from the US on Kim Jong-un, came a response from the god of North Korea to further remove the country from the ever long nose of the U.S. of A. – the severing of a rare diplomatic channel of communication between the countries. With the latest outcry from Nigerians to President Buhari on his lopsided appointments, came another response from the god of Nigeria – another lopsided appointment. But before we proceed any further, it is pertinent we clear out the air of confusion on what really it means to be a god. What are the indices for measuring ‘godhood’?
A god is a ghost, at first, hardly seen or heard from, with praise singers and worshippers all around him. They alone hear his voice and see him; of course, with their inner spiritual eyes. A god does whatever he wills! The thoughts of a god for his people are thoughts of “good and not of evil; to take them to an expected end”, only if they do not murmur like the biblical Israelites. Indeed, nothing causes a god to boil in anger than having ungrateful subjects who must question his will for them. Gods hold their prophets and servants sacred, and may waste anyone who dares challenge them. In all, the silence of a god, indeed, endureth forever!
Many gods have walked this earth, and have left souvenirs of their strength among us humans. From Hitler to Stalin, from Bokassa to Botha, from popes to kings; many gods have walked our planet. Some gods still walk our planet, and among them, two leave the writer in awe; the two to be discussed.
No one can deny the fact that Kim Jong-un of North Korea is the god of that country; a man who has, like his father and grandfather before him, successfully shut North Korea out of the rest of the world. Little is known about his childhood. Indeed, reading Kim Jong-un’s online biography, one is faced with nothing but a collection of probabilities, of hearsays, with speculations flying around on where he might have schooled; if in Switzerland as is rumored, what name he might have used; if he was the reported North Korean kid who went to a private English Language International School in Gumligen, what name did he use, “Chok-pak” or “Pak-chol”? That is a god!
The secrecy is alarming, you would wonder if anyone should be winning a Nobel Laureate with it. Kim is hardly seen or heard from anyone who isn’t inside North Korea, and indeed, one would wonder if North Koreans do see much of their supreme leader, at this rate of secrecy and silence. Only the gods know!
As no one can deny the magnitude of Kim’s secrecy and silence, so also can many Nigerians, indeed, testify to the secrecy and silence of their president, Muhammadu Buhari. The secrecy of recruitments disregarding the majority of youths who took to the polls last year’s March to end their sufferings; the secrecy of the President’s health status; the secrecy of his assets; the secrecy of his education that has left the people speculating about his educational qualification; some wondering, yet fearing the possibility of having voted for a man who allegedly forged his certificate. A human being could have produced the said certificate to reassure the people, but further proving his invincibility, Muhammadu Buhari went on to hired 30 learned SANS to stop the quest for his certificate.
That is a god!
On his silence, President Buhari rarely speaks to Nigerians, for when he is not talking down at them from foreign lands, he is communing in Hausa with the Emirs of the north, and the press is expected to translate and dish out to the people hungry for an address from their leader. With President Buhari, addressing the people is a favour, not a duty, and each time he eventually opens his mouth to do so, the words which flow out are ancient, they are impenetrable, they are mysterious! “I belong to everybody; I belong to nobody!” Only those with the gift of interpreting tongues can understand how this antithesis played out.
The silences of gods always create the abundance of messengers, worshippers, praise singers and prophets, who all speak in ambiguity. The uncertainty of whether North Korean’s Kim Jong-un ever went to China, after being made successor to his father, is epic as it is hilarious, for one has to shake their heads in pity at the drama of China denying such visit ever occurred and the West and her press pointing fingers at China – “it happened!” What’s with the many spokespersons and messengers? If Kim went to China, let him say so. If he uses a mobile toilet every time he is on a tour of his country, let him say so already! Enough with the many confused messengers!
And whereas we witness some sort of decorum and civility with Kim’s messengers, with President Buhari’s band of Rock singers, it is primitivism, it is mumuism, it is iberiberism. At the top of the clan is Femi Adesina, who would rather have President Buhari not talk to Nigerians at all, until they learn to say THANK YOU BABA anytime he does, and desist from reading any meaning whatsoever into baba’s speeches. Whatever address coming from President Buhari usually has “speaking through his…” added before them. It doesn’t really matter what it was that needed the president to address the public; a woman could get hacked to death for her faith, the Herdsmen can murder and sack a whole community, the queue at the petrol filling stations can stretch from Abuja down to Port Harcourt, it doesn’t matter; one messenger is always available to talk at Nigerians. One praise singer is always available to caution the naughtiness of Nigerians; of Nigerians wailing waa waa waa like kids whose lollipop were taken away.
They must always be reminded that Baba feels their pains and has the best of intention for them. Nigerians must always be talked at. At the bottom of the clan of messengers are the numerous “Buharists” who are uncouth, bigoted and indeed deadly. Whatever President Buhari does is right, for as Jehova is infallible, so is President Buhari. The song praise “Sai Baba” is forever on their lips.
Also, to say that these gods: the North Korean and the Nigerian, do whatever they will is already a cliché. To also point out that opposition to them is not tolerated is already a dead metaphor. Kim Jong-un’s uncle, Jang Sung-taek, and all other executed oppositions bear witness to this. The Nigerian judiciary, Nnamdi Kanu, Femi Fani-Kayode, and Governor Ayo Fayose are witnesses to this.
Finally, on the immunity of their prophets and servant, as Elisha commanded Jehova who sent wild bears to devour the kids who laughed at his prophet, Elisha, so has President Buhari and his servants used the country’s military to cracked down heavily on the many who stand in their way. The over 100 Shites cut down by these soldiers of the lord bear witness to this. The IPOB guys massacred and buried in mass graves bear witness to this. And the killers still parading the streets of Nigeria bear witness to the protection of the god they serve.
Many will agree that one quality of gods, dead or alive, is their tendency to slip into dictatorship. We can only hope, these two gods are saved from taking this path; if they are not there already.

Though am no catholic buh I've gotta say dis is in bad taste.
It's her body, yeah right, but it's the identity of an age-old brand that she's messing with here. And nobody takes kindly to that sort of isshhh. Your body, yeah, but My Institution! She shoulda done it with Egungun Masquerade costume now?!
Religious tolerance, and simply not being an ars.ehole, extends all the way from leaving other people to practice their safe beliefs in peace and ALSO NOT TRAMPLING ON THE NORMS, MORES & ICONS of their SPIRITUAL VENERATIONS! Let sleeping dogs lie, don't start another thing again, the ones in Osun & Kaduna are still generating heat.
We've gotta go with Sist Augusta, Brother Mathew & Saint Francis of the Holy Steak on dis one .
Of course, d majority of shameless thoughtless nitwits who would be hollering for her to be left alone would also identify themselves as Christians but it goes to show how spinelessly empty-headed and unguided they are. Would Muslims take kindly to this kinda pranks?! Or you get your rocks off dissing the national religion in North Korean and escape unscathed?! As usual, self-professing Christians are often the double-standard, agenda-less and confused confusionists of the world. Preaching morality and still voting all sorts of bestial bullshyts at the Parliament. No wonder the christianity sef get as e be now?!
The girl should grow some sense, go find some other Barbie Dolls to play with, and she shld stop taking slutty pics like she's auditioning for misguided Italian adultmovies And Finally, she shld thank her stars that she didn't try this with an Hijab in Kano. She'd have been separated from her head by now.
Hahahahaha very funny.
So summarily, if she was killed in Kano for doing this with a Hijab it will be justified?
Nigerians and religion - dogs and bones.
