Hello, I am inviting my mum to the US to for delayed omugwo(baby already born), she was denied the first time when I was pregnant and she has a date to go again, she told them she was coming to visit me and be there for the birth of her grand child. Now that my baby has been born, what should she say because she obviously can't say she is coming as nanny. I am a permanent resident and my husband is a citizen
she should say that she just wants to visit since she wasn’t there when the baby was born, spend—-days and come back home.

Hi everyone, I need your advise pls. I applied for a B2 Visa to have my baby in the USA. My pregnancy is high risk and I have my letter from my doctor in Nigeria and a Gynea in the USA. I was only able to get February 2026 date and my due date is in a couple of months in 2025. I applied for an emergency date and it was rejected, not sure why. I attached my proof of Funds and the letters from both doctors. Pls what did I do wrong ? How do I get a closer date?
Giving birth in the US does not fall under Emergency visas, that’s probably the reason it was rejected. Although it is a high risk birth per you, you have to prove that a medical condition not treatable in Nigeria is associated with the birth. Generally, visas for birth reasons are hard to come by this days.

Tinubu might be a failure, but Atiku will be a calamity. Atiku will never be president, he should just retire.

You are absolutely correct.

My friend was asked about:

1. Her Job

2. Home ties

3. Previous travel history

I advised her to be calm and confident. I also cautioned her not to talk too much - but to eleborate on certain things like family ties and previous travel history. She said that really helped her has she has been to other Countries in Europe several times.

Also, she noticed that old people who had been to the US before to visit their child and stayed for a long time were refused. If you are inviting your parents to the US, ensure they don't stay for more than a month at a stretch. She counted three couples with this issue and they were all refused. She said blue paper was flying left, right and center.

I hope this helps others.
Those couple that were refused visa must have stayed more than the time they stamped them at POE. I know of a parent that has stayed almost a year now, I believe the stamp-in was 6 months. Such a parent will have difficulty getting visa again if she is to return to Nigeria. I think one of the important part to consider is the stamp-in duration at POE.

My mum’s visa was approved yesterday in Lagos, and it still feels surreal. This was her second attempt we applied for B2 visa category for her and unlike the first time, everything happened so quickly. We got to the embassy, and in less than 20 minutes, she was done.

Here’s how the conversation went:

VO: Good morning.
Mum: Good morning! How are you doing?
VO:Why are you traveling to the U.S.?
Mum: To visit my daughter, she just had a baby.
VO: How long do you plan to stay?
Mum: Two months.
VO: How did your daughter move to the U.S.? Mum: She got married and relocated.
VO: Are you married? If so, why isn’t your husband traveling with you?
Mum: Yes, I’m legally married. My husband and I agreed that I should be the one to go, while he stays back with one of our children in Nigeria until I return.
VO: Are you planning to get any medical treatment while in the U.S.?
Mum: No, not at all.
VO:How many children do you have?
Mum: Six, but sadly, one recently ed on.
VO: How many of them are in the U.S.?
Mum: Just one. The rest are here in Nigeria.
VO: What do you do for a living?
Mum: I’m a retired teacher.
VO: Who is funding your trip?
Mum: My daughter the one I’m visiting.
VO: What does she do?
*Mum: She’s a nurse.
VO: How long has she been in the U.S.?
Mum: 8yrs.
VO: Is this her first child? If not, why didn’t you travel to see her when she had the first one?
Mum: No, this is her second child. She had her first in 2022, but my visa was denied back then.

At this point, the officer started typing, then suddenly excused herself for a moment. When she returned, she asked again:

VO: Are you sure you’re not going to the U.S. for medical treatment?
Mum: I’m very sure.

Then, the officer smiled and said, “I’ll be approving your visa. I hope you have a wonderful time with your daughter.”

My mum smiled back and said, “Thank you so much.”

Thanks to Nairaland I gained a lot of information on this thread that was helpful
conngrats, do you know what documents they asked her to present at the interview?

Nigerian Christians and hypocrisy is like 5&6. Before you start arguing anything related to appearance with a Nigerian Christian just know that same person will appear like that if they find themselves abroad. Do wife of Anglican priest/bishop put on tros in Nigeria? Fvk no. in US, the ones I know put it on, even wear it for content creating. The same thing with churches in Nigeria banning guys from plaiting hair and different rules. Same branch of same church in US allows it. WHO IS DECEIVING WHO?

I need advice and suggestions.

At 42, I am considering going into nursing in the USA.

I have a BSc in Biochemistry from Nigeria, a Master's in Public Health from the USA,

and after completing my degree, I returned to Nigeria to work as a Community Health Worker.

Now that I am back in the USA, I need guidance on finding a nursing school.

Any suggestions or advice on how to navigate this path would be greatly appreciated.
No suggestions though, you are already in the US, you already know the paths. You just want some push. However, there are 2 paths: 1) you have your Masters already, you can go for accelerated programs, get some prerequisite done and get into the school. This program is very intensive and takes a couple of months. For school, you can browse and look for schools in proximity to where you live. 2) if you feel you want to start nursing from the scratch, go to a community college which is cheaper or go to a University. The community college will offer equivalent of diploma in Nigeria I.e ADN, but the university will offer BSN which is very expensive. The most important thing to note is to talk to a counselor in the school/path you want to follow.

Many blacks abroad are idiots. In my office, I forgot to do one thing, the bastard that we are from Naija and same tribe and close state in Nigeria went and reported to white supervisor. The supervisor came and asked me what happened, after much explanation, the supervisor said I should not mind her. Case close. The same white person you are licking his/her ass will fvk up your style anytime especially if you are black and they don’t like you.

This is the reason Christians should focus on God, but unfortunately 95% Christians in Nigeria see their pastor as their God. The pastor you worship is establishing abroad and have security around him while you the are running round in circles. Believe in Jesus, believe in God, live your life on earth to the glory of God, not pastor. If you have money to deliver a baby abroad, do it, don’t go and give it as offering and ask the pastor to be praying for you so you can deliver safely in Nigeria.
Nigeria Christians need deliverance from religion slavery. Pastors preaching one thing and practicing another.

you are very useless, that’s why Nigerian army has misplaced priorities. Is Nigeria army problem civilians or to defend Nigerians against foreign enemies. I can see your brain is filled with beans. Prodigal son of a thousand fathers.

There's nothing to probe, besides the investigation was posted since 19th Nov just to calm the SM tension...Even though I condemn brutality of any kind but Why is nobody talking about the silly attitude of the civilians in question? If you all Wants to be sincere, watch the video closely, He's a maj gen & should be respected, Even the guy's attitude in response to the soldiers says alot. Common SORRY would have averted all that but nonsense pride made them to stand up to military men and a general for that matter.
is like madness is running in your lineage. You think Nigeria is in military era. Oponu first class.

I would like you to replay the video and listen carefully to what the senior guy is saying. Basically .... the military should not be in civilian space. The problem is they have been in civilian space for sooo long that wayyyy too many of us believe they belong there. Even the TV guy didn't grab what the man was saying ... or why would he tell the guy that maybe soldier training should be upgraded ?(so they can interact better with civilians). Like the guy said ... Police are trained to Protect and Serve .... soldiers are trained to defend and kill. Ask anyone in NYC when last they saw a soldier ... not a National Guard on weekends ... when last or if they have ever seen a soldier... except the ones at the recruiting outposts ....they will be scratching their heads to recall. We need to really listen to what that man said .

My question on the topic ..... Is it wrong or illegal to overtake military personnel? ....not asking about consequences.
No need of you replying that idiot that has not traveled outside Nigeria. Even the National Guard I see if I want to see a soldier on uniform is when I go to their office or a neighbor going for a weekend drill.

But truth be told, why would you even think of overtaking a major general vehicle? Yes the major general was not right but as a civilian even if you did make that mistake, a simple sorry would have calm the tensions before pleading your case. The reason why I feel the general got flared up was maybe the said guy thought he could say anything or do anything and get away with it. Some people are saying in the US, can the general do such a thing? Let me make this clear to you all, even in the US when a military convoy is on transit no other vehicle is mandated to overtake it unless it's an emergency situation and the siren must be on.
idiot, was the General in a convoy, if you don’t live in USA, shut the fvk up. How many times do we see military convoy on the streets of USA
