post=124479504: Much as I do not engage people on this forum, I have always read your comments on political matters and have no doubt that you're an APC person, which is not an offence. We all can not the same parties or have the same ideologies. However, this your comment is the most non-partisan and practicable panacea I have read from you. Will they do anything close to these suggestions? I doubt. God bless Nigeria 4 Likes 3 Shares |

The Minister of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education (EPST) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Tony Mwaba Kazadi has impregnated his Deputy Minister, Aminata Namasia. While confessing to the act, the minister described it as “accidental.” Local reports revealed that Kazadi and Namasia, despite being married, developed feelings for each other as they worked together in the DRC education ministry. According to The Heritage Times, a DRC journalist, Lungila John took to Twitter to reveal the affair between both officials that led to the deputy education minister’s pregnancy. The duo have come under heavy criticism from citizens of DRC, accusing them of reeking bad conduct and immorality. Archy Lema, a citizen of DRC and a Twitter said, DRC is a country of shame. She said Namasia has no education to give to any young lady in the country. Another citizen of DRC said if politicians in the country, especially Kazadi and Namasia wanted to be referred to as “excellencies” or “honourables”, their conduct should have been more excellent and honourable, especially since they are very popular and wealthy, unlike other Congolese people. The Heritage Times said Namasia was appointed the National Deputy Minister of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education in the Democratic Republic Of Congo under Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde’s cabinet on April 12, 2021. AN ADDRESS BY THE OYO STATE CHAIRMAN ACCORD, HON. PRINCE KOLADE OJO AT A PRESS CONFERENCE HELD ON WEDNESDAY 8TH MARCH, 2023 IN IBADAN. The State Secretary, ACCORD, Hon Olayinka Dairo, Other of ACCORD Oyo state working committee, ACCORD local government party chairmen, Other local government and ward executives of our great party here present, Ladies and gentlemen of the press, good afternoon. It is a great delight and honour for me to intimate you of the fourth estate of the realm in particular and the public in general on developments in political arena at this auspicious moment. Following the just concluded presidential and national assembly elections in our dear nation, the state working committee of ACCORD, the 33 local government chairmen of ACCORD, as well as party stalwarts converged on the party office, Aremo, Ibadan to evaluate, brainstorm and chart way forward with a view to proffering workable solutions for the progress and continued development of the pace setter state. At the meeting, which was chaired by Hon. Tajudeen Alimi, ACCORD chairman, Ibadan South East and chairman of the chairmen, we decided the following ahead of the forthcoming governorship and house of assembly elections of Saturday 11th March, 2023: I. Consequent upon many appeals and entreaties by the local government chairmen to right some wrongs, including taking unilateral decisions, deliberate sideline of ward and local government party executives in the scheme of things and lack of harmonious working relationships by the governorship candidate of the party, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, the entire party structure expressed displeasure, disappointment and disenchantment for not being carried along as partners in progress and pillars of electoral victory for his candidature. II. It was categorically stated after discreet observation and careful study of events that Chief Adebayo Adelabu prefers to work in cahoot with his few ers from a former party, thereby institutionalising use and dump syndrome within the party. III. Chief Adebayo Adelabu has neither recognition, nor due respect whatsoever for the party hierarchy and this he will sustain should he is elected as governor of Oyo state. IV. Arising from the above, the party executives, including the state working committee, local and ward executives have lost confidence in Chief Adebayo Adelabu as a worthy candidate to be ed for the exalted position of state governor. Charity, they say begins at home thus we would not want him to work at cross purposes with our party unique and lofty ideology which includes, unity, togetherness, development and progress for the masses. V. Going forward, the entire ACCORD Oyo state executives have agreed to form a working alliance with the incumbent Governor Seyi Makinde. VI. It is noteworthy to clarify and assert authoritatively that the coalition was born out of ion for uninterrupted good governance and our conviction that Engineer Seyi Makinde has performed creditably well to deliver dividends of democracy to the people of Oyo state. Thus, this coalition will bolster accelerated growth and all round development. We are not unaware of antics of political jobbers and purveyors of fake news who may want to hoodwink the public that the altruistic merger has pecuniary gains, please disregard such baseless assumption and unfounded insinuation should it arise. VII. We are particularly satisfied with Governor Seyi Makinde’s achievements in different sectors such as Education, Health, Civil Service reform, and prompt payment of pension and gratuity to mention but a few. VIII. Meanwhile, the 32 ACCORD candidates for the state house of assembly are in the race to win and we call on ers and party faithfuls to give them the necessary for their resounding victory at the coming polls. IX. We appeal to the media as our dependable companions to include it in their various reports that the party structure is not collapsed, but rather it will be used to the PDP government led by Governor Seyi Makinde. Thanks for your audience and remained blessed. Source: https://oyomind.com.ng/accord-party-adopts-seyi-makinde-as-governorship-candidate-in-oyo/ |

[quote author=Rolings post=120778659] Law operates on facts not emotions. No amount of emorional blackmail will make law rely on emotions above facts. No matter the presidential candidate you ....the judiciary has been there for them. So its uncharitable to condemn the judiciary when it didnt favour you and accept its decisions when they favour you only. As per Akpabio and Lawan.....these are cases that needed to be decided by SC so as to reinforce party supremacy in our politics. As far as the Law is concerned its the party that has the final say on its choice of candidate....the candidate is not representing himself but flying the party s flag...he cant be bigger than that party[/quote According to this your position on the supremacy of the party, why then do they ask people to obtain forms and contest primaries? Why does INEC monitors the primaries? Why couldn't the parties just handpick their candidates based on whatever criteria they deem fit. I don't tink this your submission is right. |

knowhowk: You obviously don't get the drift. Wike has already cut a deal with Tinubu and co that in order for him to deliver Rivers to them for presidential election, APC has to sacrifice their candidates at the state level of the party. This is why the state chapter of the APC in Rivers state has been complaining of abandonment by the federal. They are the collateral damage for Tinubu's ambition in Rivers. So bad |

Summary of the Arise Town hall meeting: On security, Kwankwaso, Abiola, and Okowa spoke out of point on the Kaduna train attack. The question was specific, instead they spoke in general about their manifestos on security. Only Obi addressed the question directly as to how he would've responded to that particular attack as Commander in Chief. I liked Kwankwaso's comment that no one can win the election by running on tribal and religious sentiments. Dino Melaye's question, not surprisingly, was a jibe at the APC but he directed it to Obi, probably because APC was not represented. Kwankwaso of course hit the APC for their absence. And Obi drew an applause the way he tackled Dino's question, even though the rules forbade applauses. In their responses to the corruption claim of bandits that politicians steal and also appropriate for themselves national security structures, only Obi was clear about his position as an uncorrupted person in office. I'm from Delta. Okowa of course lied about taking development to oil producing communities to reduce insecurity. He didn't. I live in Warri. His drawback was that he was standing as proxy and spoke for himself instead of Atiku. A ist, Jibrin (or Jubril?), raised a question about 6m arms in the hands of bandits. Such statements baffle me. Who went to count them? Abiola shocked me when he said that the National Security Council has not met since 1999! So what does that constitutional body exist for? Talk about wasting resources! Obi dazzled of course when he addressed the number of policemen and its gross inadequacy. The man has an impressive knack for facts and figures. The fact checker upheld his claim as true. A claim by Abiola was debunked by the fact checker buy he stood his ground. Kwankwaso didn't fare too well under fact checking. Okowa didn't present facts that needed checking. On the economic issues, Obi was clearest on what he intended to do to deal with the listed ailments. He spoke first and others latched on to his points by and large. Obi frequently speaking first tended to make the proceedings one sided, in my opinion. On Jubril's worry that the billions candidates are investing in their campaigns would mean an attempt to recoup their investment when they win, apart from saying the PRP was not investing billions, I really didn't understand Abiola's answers. Kwankwaso did not address the concern either. He simply said the issue didn't apply to the NNPP. Obi adopted that of course. But the reality is that billions are being spent. Okowa reiterated that. Question is, how will they be recovered? He didnt address that. It is becoming increasingly obvious that Tinubu would not be attending these fora. Either he has nothing to offer or he lacks confidence. Either way he's not fit for the high office of President. Another unavailable president will be a disaster. On process, I think applauses should not be banned. They're the only way to acknowledge good points and assess the candidates. Secondly, one minute is certainly not enough to do justice to any question. Time keepers appeared to be out of sync with their job. Finally, known national ruffians and rascals like Dino Melaye should not be allowed in these fora. They just can't keep themselves in check. They're disrupters. Obi had to call him to order when he interrupted proceedings to allege that certain questioners in the hall were 'Obi people.' Every candidate had his ers in the hall. He obviously came to the townhall with an agenda. He's a disgrace. Overall, a good outing by the Arise TV. 2 Likes 1 Share |
