Another one bites the dust sad

I hope the founders get another shot.

I wonder why they didn't consider going for another market or even targeting the global.market instead of just Nigeria.

They would have learnt from the adventure so still a win for everyone closely involved with the startup.

people don't know how CBN operates, they just upset becase these women are not in their gangs - this is simply propaganda
so break down - when you earn 500K in CBN you will get minumum of 2M in benefits and allowances monthly o - there's no way in heaven they are earning more than CBN directors, not even close to deputy governors. NEVER !!

I know a few people that resigned from Chevron/Total because they got an offer from CBN so yes that how lucarative it is to work in CBN, why do you think nobody resigns from CBN

Yes, they may have been hired without due process - but everyone knows when a C-Level exec moves, he/sh moves with his team - it's just that simple

We all know consultants usually will earn higher than their counterparts on the same level in an organisation so you really don't know if they were brought in at director or deputy governor level.

Anyhoo, there should be some level of transparency if you're bringing such consultants to the central bank to avoid what seems to be happening right now.

We know naija anyway, will not be surprised if they are indeed Cardoso "women" grin

Yeah tiinubu is planning a 1 trillion dollar economy , Nigeria just because the biggest economy in africa .you cannot achieve it with the people there because they are civil servants .You use outsiders and tell them you goals and objectives, they charge you ,they offer and achieve the goals and you pay them .simple and cheaper than a civil servant collecting 10% left right and corner and buying houses all over the place..In china many civil servants would have died 12times by now .they are very corrupt

So what are the said goals and why are they not transparent to everyone, including the CBN staff?

You better ask the right questions and miss me with the Cardoso is doing well when inflation is over 30%.

I was in the same situation during the pandemic in 2020.

I knew I was going to be one of those "he collapsed and died" stories if I didn't leave the job, so I left without having another job.

I did have a plan though, which was japa.

5 years later, that was one of the best decisions I ever made, only second to marrying my wife.

In conclusion, if your job is giving you anxiety, high BP and depression, please quit it even if you don't have any plan. Better to be alive and well to face another hustle than to become a victim of Nigerian banking system.

As a mentor once told me, tough times never last but tough people do.

Cheers to everyone going through this madness called life.

How is it her loss when you'll also be losing your child? Because chances are she'll never allow you to see that child ever again.

When the child reaches a certain age and start asking questions, she might tell him or her how you rejected him or her and went to the extent of conducting a DNA... The child will then hate you.

In your wildest dream.

The child belongs to both parents so she has absolutely no right to kidnap it for some stupid reason like DNA test.

Meanwhile, I'm not surprised to see you think like this and at how you quickly twisted the narrative to the child being rejected.

Many women also think like you. It's a pandemic at this point.

You need help and therapy!

Nairaland and its owner, Seun, have consistently allowed individuals to describe this country with derogatory names without facing any repercussions. s even promote such threads to the front page. If Nairaland fails to address this issue, it is time for the Nigerian government to step in, and everyone involved will have to face the consequences.

Another raving loon.

You better relocate to North Korea or China if you want people not to express their disdain for the criminality called Nigeria. Even in "developed" countries, their citizens denigrate the country and you expect a hellish jungle like Nigeria to not be disparaged by its citizens who have had their future stolen by successive governments and crooks at all levels, with the active connivance of the judiciary and legislature.

The hypocrisy and nauseating thing about folks like you is that you claim to love Nigeria but continue to vote inept criminals as president, in the name of spiting Igbos.

People will say how they feel about a country that does not care one bit about its citizens and there's nothing you and the criminals in power will do.

He is telling the truth. I have a friend here, he has yet to balance himself since he got there in March.

He says bill and taxes will take all your money + feeding and transportation. If you skip work, salary will be deducted.

We can be better than those countries, just that everything in Nigeria is bastardized

When one relocates, it takes at least 5 years for you to actually start realising the amazing benefits.

Expecting that you'll be successful immediately relocating is naive and frankly stupid. Although, highly skilled people can achieve this, they are an exception to the rule.

Give your friend a few years and you'll see the difference.

What is the big deal in a train having fault?

All these unnecessary ethnic diatribe needs to stop. What Lagos does with its revenue is Lagos' business.

Other states should look to learn from the developments and mistakes of Lagos and do something better.

So anyone who complains about the opacity of Lagos state revenue management or the report by the OP that the line has been suspended indefinitely is automatically against an ethnic group or what?

So Lagosians shouldn't ask questions about what the govt is doing with their taxes, nor complain when there's infrastructure breakdown?

You're not making any sense, if you have something to say, be bold and say it. Don't be a coward.

I'm giving an of what happened to me, I will also give the context of the situation. Saying he was my Junior is just facts and relevant to the story because if I was his peer, it could be acceptable banter. I hope you understand now.

Again, your ego is out of this world.

You certainly could have told the story without the junior thing. Peep how many times you mentioned junior in just one short story cheesy

Going by your logic, would it have been more acceptable if the incident happened with a "senior" colleague?

Some of us have a 6th sense and I can tell you categorically that you enjoy the power trip of seeing others as junior to you, suggesting that you're an authoritative, egotistic person who enjoys "putting your juniors in their place".

It's a sign of a weak, unsure individual. You still have a lot of growing to do mentally and emotionally.

I rest my case.

OK. You are in the same WhatsApp group obviously.

Where is the classism when I didn't have to speak to him in the first place?. Would he make the same "joke" with a man? Meanwhile, it wasn't even a joke cause he repeated it on another occasion trying to remind me about his jollof.
There are things you don't say to people in the work place that you are meeting for the first time in a professional capacity. If you don't know this already, I can't help you.
Try not to be defending nonsense.

Thankfully he was the only bad experience I've had and I've enjoyed cordial/professional relationship with others both male and female after him.

You missed the entire point o.

My reply had absolutely nothing to do with the Jollof rice request.

Hmm Justwise, I'm surprised you are saying this...ok let me give you my own story being a woman in senior management.
I was the only Nigerian in my team so when they employed another one, I reached out to welcome him and offer my for his settling in into the role. I told him to let me know if he needs help settling in and the silly boy told me to bring him some jollof rice! I was shocked and in my mind I was like "sebi na me find trouble come".
He probably didn't know my role/level. But even if I was his mate, should that be the response to a professional offer to help? A lot of our men still see women as kitchen occupiers and still speak in manners that are not acceptable here.
These bad encounters turn well meaning ppl off. If I wasn't who I am, that will be the last time I give a newbie a chance. People don't like to suffer fools twice.

Thankfully since then, I've had the pleasure of meeting other junior Nigerians who were sensible and didn't give me regrets.

The same classism disease cheesy

Your level and seniority is so precious to you init.

From just this post, your leadership skills are seriously questionable if you're talking about your colleagues outside the workplace from a senior/junior POV.

Your ego is off the charts and you need to reign it in because it will ruin you in the long run.

Cheers.

This tax bill is really bad for the North. Even the South East and South South will also suffer from it. Only the South West will benefit.

From the excerpts of the bill I've seen, only Lagos, FCT, Rivers and Ogun state will benefit from it due to Lagos being former capital and having the only fully functional seaport in Nigeria; Ogun state due to its proximity to Lagos, FCT being the current capital and Rivers due to the Onne port and oil companies presence.

Saying states will get 50% of the VAT they accrue will only throw most of the other states into bankruptcy in a few years.

It will be rather interesting to see how this bill drama unfolds.

If the rapist police officer were to be Igbo, you would see the bigots like yarimo, madridguy, helinues and other riff raffs coming here to spill their bile.

As for the case at hand, this is normal with the Nigeria Police Force.

Unfortunately, the case is likely to be swept under the carpet.

My heart goes out to the young girl who has been forever traumatised by the incident. One can only imagine how many of such cases never even make it to the media.

People like Iyin Aboyeji will say the president doesn't matter but cases like this are supposed to cause national uproar, forcing the president to step in and ensure the rapist is brought to justice.
TheRealestGuy(m): 1:23pm On Nov 28, 2024

The quest for wealth without enterprise has finished Nigerian youths, from the north to the south, east to west.

When the current president is an alleged drug bag man, there are virtually no positive role models in the society anymore.

I don't know what you are talking about. I'm a practicing yoruba muslim from Ibadan and will be made an imam by next year inshallah but that doesn't mean I won't say the truth. How do you expect me to believe this usèless propaganda. Is this rubbish data not from the same NBS that just yesterday claimed that our audio gdp grew by over 3% in the third quarter of this year and that unemployment rate reduced significantly even though most companies are leaving the country and relieving employees of their duty?
In Ibadan here alone, due to insane cost of production more than 93% of poultry farms have shut down and sacked workers . The economy is biting hard and won't allow people to remain in business so how exactly is gdp growing and unemployment rate reducing?
The same NBS claims that inflation is around 38% but Turkiye a European country whose economy is currently a thousand times healthier than ours recorded an inflation of over 60% not too long ago but in this country where groceries, electronics and most commodities have gone up by at least 450% in less than 18 months, we're still here deceiving ourselves with 30 percent inflation rate.
I'm unable to trust any manipulated data from NBS for now until the retarded lunatic in aso rock is booted out in 2027. I was part of the yoruba people who were brainwashed to believe that Tinubu would be a better president than Peter Obi and I voted Tinubu based on sentiments and ethnicism but I now regret my actions.
I will vote Mr Peter Obi in 2027 so he would rescue us from this suffering and poverty that this wicked man called Tinubu imposed on us.

Unfortunately it is too late.

I hope you and your family survive 8 years of Tinubu and if you don't, well, not much to be said, you brought it upon yourself.

My suggestion would be that as a form of restitution, you try as much as possible to change the minds of as many Yoruba peeps around you as you can, so that they can eschew ethnic bigotry and tribalism, not just in future elections, but as a way of life in general.

Now this is not to say that other tribes are completely innocent, but we know how ethnic and religious bigotry has taken centre stage in Nigeria since 2015, unfortunately ed and bolstered by people like you who remain unenlightened.

Welcome to the light, if truly you have been liberated.

I wish you the best too.

In 2023 they paid over 3 trillion Naira, even more that the amount paid in 2022.

In 2024, they're owing 5 trillion Naira already.

Wale Edun came on national TV to say subsidy removal saved Nigeria $20bn.

All smoke and mirrors.

Tinubu believes he can lead with propaganda and lies.

1984 happening before our eyes, Nigeria has now transformed into an Orwellian nightmare where the govt, against all available evidence tells us to believe their propaganda and lies and ignore what we can clearly see happening.

Meanwhile the usually loquacious and vociferous Wole Soyinka has gone mute for months because his good friend and tribesman is in power.

The great Abamieda, baba 70, Anikulapo himself did x100 of what you tried to do David, and he also failed.

Nigerians called him a drug addict and never bothered to listen, despite Fela putting his life on the line in a bid to liberate Nigerians.

He later regretted most of his actions after realising that his attempts to liberate Nigerians were futile, the reason being that the average Nigerian is unenlightened, uncivilised, bigoted, selfish, greedy and with a parochial mindset.

Peter Obi will also soon come to the same realisation.

Any attempt to save Nigerians will always end in futility.

Until a critical mass of the populace becomes enlightened, there is really no hope.
