I went to Wakanow I paid a deposit towards the flight itself to reserve the date and the plane tickets were issued.
Any travel agent can help you.
Exactly! And it’s free of charge. I wonder why someone will want to extort another at “a token “

Hi.
Pls I have an enquiry. My in-law has a job offer (Nursing) from sA and want to apply for a work permit. Can he apply using the Evisa link or is there any other means of application?
I think the e visa link is only for Tourists/vist purpose. Work visa is a long term visa, hence it must be submitted to the embassy via VFS

I received an email from VFS that I should submit my port within 2 days. Do I need to book an appointment with VFS or I can just walk into the VFS office and submit my port? I submitted my study application on the 12th of December 2022.
I will appreciate anyone's suggestion.
Congratulations. Are you submitting at vfs Abuja? Just walk in and submit your port. They’ll dhl to you between 3-5 days.

Hello All
My sister SA visitor visa application to visit her husband who is doing a PhD in South Africa was rejected with this reason - Marriage Certificate is not authenticated.
She authenticated it tho at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before submitting it.
Any advice on how to make it better and reapply?
Where did she apply? And was the marriage certificate duly certified I.e stamped and signed at the ministry of foreign affairs Abuja?

Renew his visa based on what category? If I understand, his initial visa is expired now was study visa. Did he get another ission or post doctoral position to situate his reapplying? This could fly though. Otherwise he can’t reapply for himself and family but if his family has SA visas too( expired?) ,then it’s a plus for reconsideration on their application
Thank you for your response...
What he just want to do is to renew his expired visa and also use the opportunity to apply fresh for his wife and children along with his own...
He wants to know if he will renew his own expired visa separately or he can renew his expired visa along with apply for his wife and kids?

Please house, I need a professional advice on this issue. A senior colleague who applied for research visitor to participate in postdoc in SA got declined. The reason they gave was that he did not submit South Africa police report. This is a fellow who had left SA since 2018 after his PhD and no one requested for it at VFS when he submitted his application. Please, what's the way out ? Is it to appeal or apply for a fresh application? What time does the appeal take? How can someone who left the republic five years ago get their police report? Cos I think it might need capturing. Its very urget please!!!
SA police clearance is definitely a requirement in this application
Let him go to any police station and get his fingerprints done(with his port photograph on it) then DHL it including his data page, SA PC application form and payment receipt to the SAP criminal record service in Pretoria. Processing is 6 weeks.

You have to it first. Because if you submit it like that, they will refuse you on unverifiable yellow card. In fact that is rampant now than any other reason. Scan it and input your details on it. If your details can’t be found please validate it. Quick even if you’ve submitted, try and do something about it before they treat your application! Try and validate it yourself o and see your details and everything comes out successfully!!
Alternatively use this website and input your details
https://yellowcardnigeria.com/
Does the new yellow card has barcode to scan and your information?

1. The person has to write a strong convincing letter, why he/she is inviting you and the letter must contain his/her phone number, email address, house address which must be in the same city you are visiting, if your flight reservation says Lagos to CapeTown, The address must be Capetown and not any other place. If it’s in Joburg, your flight reservation say. Then the house address must be in joburg.
In the letter don’t put contradicting stuffs in it because they will definitely call your host and ask questions based on what is written in the letter and in your self-introduction letter as well.
2. The person must attach a certified copy of his port biodata page and the visa legalizing him/her to stay in SA if not a citizen of RSA. If he/she is, the just a certified copy of the Biodata page of his/her SA ID
3. A very recent utility bills ( Electricity/Water) which shows the address written by the host in the letter. It must be clear & certified
4. This last one, I won’t say it is a must, but just to be on a safest side. Attach his 3 months recent bank statement (certified). Normally if the host says he’d cover all cost or he/she is your sponsor that is when you will attach the host bank statement with yours. But this days even if the host isn’t sponsoring and you still don’t attach the host bank statement you will get refused. So to be on the safest side just make sure you attach the bank statement with sufficient funds( Certified true copy)
NB: Make sure the documents are clear and not blurry. Make sure no parts of the document is cut out. Have a copy of these documents when you are submitting
You provided good information. However, I like to make corrections to now 1 and 4
“If it’s in Joburg, your flight reservation say. Then the house address must be in joburg.”
This isn’t true. If i’m landing at OR Tambo situated at Joburg. Does this means I reside in Joburg? Your port of Entry is Joburg in Gauteng but your host adress must be within the province. E.g Pretoria
4. 3 months bank statement is applicable to Lagos applicants. Abuja demands 6 months bank statements. Yours and your host

The visa delays are nerve wracking and depressing I must confess. I got my visa 2 weeks shy of losing my scholarship, and 4months post application.(happened last year).
I've come to see it is a general problem. Asides them tightening immigration laws, they are overwhelmed or rather inadequately prepared for the tons of applications. Maybe it is deliberate, I do not know. But it is not just targeted at Nigerians. My German colleague got a post doc renewal for one year. She submitted her application since January and hasn't heard from there. She is stuck, as she can't leave the country untill a renewal, so she hasn't seen her loved ones as she would have wanted, two years running . My Malagasy colleague on the other hand got his in 3 months (they both applied from South Africa as they had already landed the previous year and got contract extensions)
I advise anyone who wants to apply for a study visa in particular to do so at least 6months ahead. Even that isn't a guarantee.
Even if you go to the embassy (like I did in frustration), you may not gain access, and you will return home angry.
You may gain access and they'll still ask you to go and wait like I was told.
All the best guys
Can I dm you pls? Perhaps a visit to the Embassy is my only option now.
