This is a youth abi?
If this is what we are going to see in this new party, then its a big fraud from the beginning and that's why it will make no impact.
I was expecting they will bring up someone in his early thirties and not this 'Obasanjo'.
I advice the party changes its name, its not late now.

Instead of writing crappy pieces like this misguided article, why not channel your energies on how APC would stem the tide of an imminent defeat awaiting the party in Edo State.

In any case, why would PDP not having a candidate at the forthcoming election be your headache if you know your left from your right?

The other day you succeeded in getting an asinine speculation moved to the homepage...You want this trash projected as well?
Hahahahahahaha, and it pained you then abi?
Take heart, pray well this time again before u see this one as FP too
Thinking an Ize-Iyamu will win Edo is simply loading your wailing potentials after the polls
Get ready to blame or accuse Buhari, INEC, APC,oshiomhole etc after the official announcement of results.
For the now, boast on while we kindly watch unfolding events.
At first u guys claimed that Obaseki was moving around the world without campaigning at home.
Now that he was been campaigning all the nooks and crannies of Edo state, with massive crowd and lots of defectors, you are still giving yourself hope.
I hope your name wasn't on the hip that a PDP decampee brought the oda day?

If you are observant you will discover that since Ize-Iyamu left the APC in Edo Oshomhole has been struggling.
Just of a recent scene in Ekewan, around Zabayor will tell you how APC have divided.

Let's keep our fingers crossed
If INEC doesn't strike out Ize-Iyamu's name from her list, the result of the poll will surely increase your wailings since u hv chosen self-ignorance over where the dire will obviously swing

When Sen.Ali Modu Sheriff was brought forward by Governors Wike and Fayose among other PDP chieftains as the only man that can help the party win back their lost states, the presidency and reposition the party, I sincerely queried this risky act by the new PDP leaders.
But ofcourse my little voice and pen was overshadowed.
PDP leaders have chosen Sheriff because they believed he had the money, the connection and knows the secret of the APC and President Buhari, being an inlaw to president Buhari and an ally of the president way back in ANPP.
But sooner than we expected, the whole thing backfired mainly because of clashes of interests regarding the party's chairmanship and who flies the flag of the party.
These crises have affected the fortunes of the party generally, including its chances in this year's Edo and Ondo Governorship Elections.
With series of pending court cases fighting supremacy, both Makarfi and Sheriff went ahead producing separate Governorship candidates for one party.
For Sheriff- Mr. Matthew Iduoriyekwemwen
For Makarfi-Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu
After this, the Makarfi camp almost appeared to have won with INEC recognising her governorship candidate because she monitored her faction's Governorship primaries and relying on a court order from Portharcourt (the home state of Gov.Wike, one of PDP's new breed of leaders).
"The commission (INEC) said that it decided to reject , the list based on the fact that it did not monitor the primary that produced the faction’s governorship candidate, Mr. Matthew
Iduoriyekwemwen".
Late luck smiled on Sheriff when an Abuja court on thursday gave a judgement in his favour as the authentic chairman of the party and nullified all that took place at the botched convention of the party, including the emergence of the Makarfi-led caretaker committee.
“Parties have an uncompromising duty
to obey court order until it is set aside.
The Lagos Division made orders on May
12 and 20, forbidding the PDP from
removing the Sheriff-led Caretaker
Committee. That order is still subsisting.
“Having regard to the order of the court,
PDP had no lawful authority to hold the
convention that led to the emergence of
the Markafi-led Committee.
“The convention was unlawfully held and
the Caretaker Committee was unlawfully
and illegally appointed and could not
take any legal decision for the PDP in
view of the subsisting order of the Lagos
Division of this court.
“Consequently, any action taken by the
Markafi-led Committee, including the
purported mandate for legal
representation in this matter is hereby
declared illegal.
“If the Markafi-led Caretaker Committee,
as apostles of impunity, missed their
way to the Port Harcourt division of this
court, that court could not have
conveniently assumed jurisdiction to set
aside the earlier decision of the Lagos
Division.
“I hold that the Port Harcourt division of
this court cannot make an order to
neutralise the potency of the Lagos
Division of this court dated 12 and 20
May“
“Ali Modu Sheriff is the National
Chairman of the PDP. Any decision not
taken by the Sheriff-led Committee is not
binding on the PDP” (including the nomination of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu) ¤ bracketed words mine
Justice Okon Abang
Federal High Court Abuja
Recall that a high court had earlier ordered the Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC) to only recognise candidates endorsed by the Ali Modu Sheriff-led National
Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party for the governorship elections in Edo and
Ondo States.
However, the Makarfi-led faction countered it with another strange injunction from portharcourt.
With the recent superior judgement (“I hold that the Port Harcourt division of this court cannot make an order to neutralise the potency of the Lagos Division of this court dated 12 and 20
May“) given by Justice Abang, the Makarfi-led faction loses the chance of producing the party's gubernatorial flagbearer.
The Sheriff faction also lacks the statutory powers to produce the governorship candidate as INEC never monitored her governorship primaries and Sheriff never abode by the statutory 21 days notice of conducting the governorship primaries.
Technically, for now, I think PDP has no governorship flagbearer in Edo State for the Sept.10 governorship race.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a
13-member Governing Council and 10-member
Board of Trustees for the cleanup of Ogoniland
in Rivers.
The Minister of Environment, Mrs Amina
Mohammed, announced this in a statement by
Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr Bukar
Hassan, in Abuja on Saturday.
The minister said the structures would ensure
inclusiveness, ability, transparency and
sustainability of the exercise.
Mohammed acknowledged the concerns raised
by stakeholders on the perceived slow pace of
the clean up, saying “Nigerians have a right to
voice their concerns”, but called for patience.
“We have responsibility to deliver. The launch
was the first step in a 30-year journey. We
continue to make strides toward the
implementation.
“We ask for patience as we lay solid
foundations for the cleanup. The context is
complex and stakeholders are diverse. All must
be taken along”, Mohammed said.
According to her, Buhari remains steadfast in
his conviction to see Ogoniland and other parts
of the Niger Delta cleaned up.
She said the ministry was working with the
Ministries of Petroleum Resources, Niger Delta,
NDDC and key stakeholders in implementing
the UNEP report.
The minister said the exercise was a collective
responsibility and urged all the Niger Delta
communities, especially the Ogonis, to
the remediation and restoration efforts of
government.
The UN report estimated that the cleanup of
Ogoniland could take up to 30 years with the
initial remediation taking five years and the
restoration another 25 years.
President Buhari inaugurated the clean up on
June 2 at Bodo in Gokana Local Government
Area of Rivers.

Name Aso Rock After Gen Aguiyi Ironsi, Ohanaeze Youths Urge Buhari

FIFTY years after the first military
coup d’état which tragically claimed the life of
the then Head of State, Late General Johnson
Thomas Aguiyi Ironsi, Ohanaeze Youth
Council, OYC, has called on the Federal
Government to immortalise the slain Head of
State.
Ohanaeze Youths argued that the late Ironsi staked his life for the unity of the country and
therefore deserved to be immortalized and given his proper place in the annals of Nigerian
history.
Ohanaeze Youth Council, in a press statement issued by its National President, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, expressed great regret that 50 years after his tragic death, the Federal
Government was yet to immortalise Ironsi
“who staked his life to unite Nigeria”.
OYC suggested that the Federal Government
should “name the nation’s seat of power, Aso
Rock after the late Head of State in
recognition of his invaluable sacrifices for the
unity of Nigeria.”
According to the statement, while the
masterminds of the heinous act “are still
moving around and parading themselves as
statesmen, the of Aguiyi Ironsi's
family have continued to wallow in pains and
poverty.”
OYC therefore ened the Federal and as
well as the various State Governments to give
attention to the welfare of the family to
assuage their pains.
Meanwhile, the Aguiyi Ironsi family is
organizing a memorial service in Umuahia to
mark the 50 years anniversary of the tragic
death of their father.
According to the matriarch of the family and
wife of the late General, Lady Victoria Aguiyi
Ironsi, a church service will hold today at the
Mater Dei Catholic Cathedral, Umuahia, which
will be followed by a reception at the family
house.

Its nolonger news that the Federal High Court in Abuja has sacked Sen.Ahmed Makarki, confirmed Sen.Ali Modu Sheriff as the authentic chairman of the PDP, nullified all previous activities of the Makarfi caretaker committee including the resolutions at the Portharcourt Convention and as well cancelled the rescheduled PDP convention in portharcourt.
By the granting of these prayers by Justice Okong Abang, Pastor OSAGIE IZE-IYAMU is nolonger the party's candidate, but Sheriff's Matthew Iduoriyekwemwen.
Is anyone still doubting that PDP will definitely lose both the EDO AND ONDO Governorship Election as long as Sheriff is alive?
Meanwhile, i dedicate the bravery and sagacity of Sen.Ali Modu Sheriff to the ever swagalicios Oshio Baba

Barrister Prosper Esegbue, former
Chairmanship Aspirant of the
Peoples Democratic Party in
Ukwuani Local Government Area of
Delta State, has defected to the All
Progressives Congress (APC) with his
ers numbering over 1000.
The former PDP chieftain, who
addressed his ers during the
defection ceremony at Obiaruku,
maintained that he decided with his
followers to move to APC after
realising that PDP had nothing more
to offer Nigerians having destroyed
the country for 16 years.
The legal luminary explained that
since the inception of democracy in
Nigeria, it has been the same old
story from the PDP, whereas, they at
the leadership positions have failed
to address the plights of their
electorate, instead, they continue to
fill their pockets with stolen money
to the detriment of those they are
made to serve.
He lamented that even workers
salaries had not been paid for one
and a half years after, as other social
amenities needed by the good
people of Delta State were also not
forthcoming.
He revealed that a reception party
has been arranged for him and his
overwhelming ers from
Ukwuani at the state capital by the
leadership of Delta State APC and at
the National level, predicting that
better days are ahead for all APC
controlled States as well as the
national level.
Barrister Esegbue called on all
Deltans particularly the people of
Ukwuani Local Government Area to
have faith in APC for total
transformation and change to the
people, appealed that they should
give the government of President
Muhammadu Buhari maximum
, and have patience with his
government.

About 500 of the Accord Party in Edo
State have opted to quit the party over
comments by governorship candidate of the
party, Don Pedro Obaseki, that the party will
the candidacy of Pastor Osagie Ize-
Iyamu of the People’s Democratic Party.
Among those left the Accord Party are some
of the state executive led by its
Assistant Secretary General, Mr. Etionosa Edo.
Edo told newsmen that they would rather work
for Godwin Obaseki rather than Pastor Ize-
Iyamu.
He said they were taken aback during the visit
of Pastor Ize-Iyamu and PDP chieftains when
Don Pedro said they should the PDP to
stop Governor Adams Oshiomhole and
Obaseki.
According to him, “He did not tell us he was
withdrawing from the Accord Party. He said we
should Ize-Iyamu because he cannot
work with Godwin Obaseki.
“We try to cover for him when he said it was
because of the case in court that his name was
not published. The truth is that he has no
money to pay for the form even though Isibor
went to court.”

Yesterday, the Bayelsa state governorship election petitions tribunal sitting in Abuja gave its judgement favouring the PDP and its candidate,Gov.Seriake Dickson.
Before this judgement, the PDP has serially been accusing the APC of plans to buy over the tribunal judgement with the APC ofcourse giving a response.
Expectedly, there was wild jubilation in the government house in Yenagoa by the friends and ers of the governor.
What I noticed however is that there was absolute calm in the camp of the APC and its Governorship candidate,Chief Timipre Sylva.
This is against the accusation by the PDP that the APC had already sewn uniforms to celebrate the victory of the party since the judgement was feared to have been bought.
Unfortunately, now that the tribunal judgement has favoured the PDP,Nigerians are deaf and dump.
If the judgement has favoured the APC and Chief Sylva, you won't have heard anything else than accusations and insults at the judiciary, the APC,President Buhari and any other person they deem is worth attacking.
Importantly, Gov.Dickson would have immediately sponsored violent protest in all parts of the state.
Those who love Nigeria must caution the PDP as the party seems the main enemy of our democracy.
When they win,its victory for democracy, when they lose its insults and violence.
Nigeria Belongs to us all afterall. We mustn't allow any body's, group's or party's desperation to jeaopardise our already fragile situation.

The Rivers State chapter of All Progressives
Congress, APC, received the news of the
postponement of the July 30 rerun election in
Rivers State with mixed feelings.
In a statement signed by APC Rivers, Publicity
secretary, Chris Finebone, the party said it is
huge disappointment considering that it will
further deny the people parliamentary
representations at both the national and state
levels while the pressure on our candidates to
sustain their campaigns continues apace.
he furthers, "However, considering the
reasons adduced by the Independent
National Electoral Commission [INEC] for the
postponement, the APC believes that had
of the Peoples Democratic Party
[PDP] led by Gov. Nyesom Wike abandoned
their official policy of resorting to violence as
a tool for seeking political power, the
postponement of the rerun elections would
have been unnecessary. Indeed, we blame
the postponement on the sustained violence
and killings orchestrated by the Peoples
Democratic Party [PDP] in Rivers State.
The latest of the string of violence the PDP
has been perpetrating in the State is the
burning down of INEC office in Bori last Friday
morning after Gov. Nyesom Wike’s hate
speech against INEC and APC leaders a few
hours earlier at Okehi.
Just before the March 19 rerun elections, Gov
Nyesom Wike employed the use of hate
speech as his battle cry, calling on his
followers to stop Senator Magnus Abe. Days
later, the Senator’s campaign office in Bori
was bombed and burnt down. Last Thursday,
Gov. Nyesom Wike was at his game once
again.
Speaking at his party’s Rivers East PDP
campaign rally at Okehi, Etche LGA, Gov. Wike
let out his usual battle cry and less than 24
hours later, those believed to be his foot
soldiers bombed and burnt down the INEC
office in Bori, the South-East senatorial zonal
headquarters of Senator Magnus Abe. A
critical look at the modus operandi of the two
bombings reveal close similarities and
imprints, suggesting that those responsible
for the first bombing most likely undertook
the latest arson on the INEC office.
The APC finds it curious that as soon as the
INEC facility was bombed in Bori, the most
virulent critic of INEC, Gov. Nyesom Wike,
turned around to offer the electoral umpire a
Greek gift to the effect that INEC could
relocate to the Khana Council. It does not call
for any strenuous reasoning to conclude that
PDP know more than they are
telling the world about the bombing of the
INEC office in Bori in order to force the
electoral umpire to relocate to a PDP facility.
Why did Gov. Wike not provide the INEC office
same security that he says the Council
enjoys?
The APC calls on the Inspector-General of
Police, Director-General of the Department of
State Services [DSS], the Commissioner of
Police, Rivers State Police Command and
other security agencies to diligently
investigate, fish out and prosecute all those
who may have a hand in the spate of killings,
arson and violence in Rivers State.
"Wholesome peace must be restored in
Rivers State so that violence does not
continue to be a reason to deny the people
representation in the political milieu."
