I have a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder, just imported from USA and is very clean. I also have a 2001 Toyota Camry big light also clean, 2002 lexus RX 300, 2004/05 RX 330..all the vehicles are in Lagos. Most of u saying the car is expensive , I guess you have not bought a car before or you are used to Nigerian used cars. Manual or automatic, the cost of clearing that car alone is 250k, I don't know how much he bought it + shipping.. if you don't have money while not keep quiet rather than tarnishing someone business. I don't know some people are finding it difficult to accept defeat, so APC people think they can win Anambra, that's a big lie, am not ing any party, but if that election should be done in the moon 100 times, Ngige under APC cannot win even 1. They only thing they should do is to go to court of which even if is cancelled, he will never win. APC should have given somebody like soludo their ticket, that's the only way they could have won. Ngige is gradually dieing politically..is not a must that he will be governor.

Everybody is blaming the government for corruption in the system, how far have we done in our various capacities to enforce a working system? in a sane society, should a student be looking for his file/her in exams and records? what does it take to keep a proper file management? I cant really get, the system is a complete mess, why should a student pay such amount of money for transcript with will only cost #50 postage stamp after paying all your school fees upon graduation? Is really horrible, I ed a day i visited the school i intend going, all i did was to cue my name in the system, i waited for my name to be called which only took less than 5 minutes before i went and met with a guidance Councillor, She told me that they are only waiting for my evaluation, other than that every other things was OK. It was an excited experience, I ask myself, when will Nigeria be like this?

You will not know what other people are ing through unless you become a victim. I really do not know how to express myself and the trauma i am facing right now simply because i attended the God forsaken and rotten institution called Imo State University. I ed people calling the school Imo stress university, one will assume that the stress will be a thing of the past after graduation. But with this school, your stress continues unless you choose to end your education with just the first degree from them. I got a visa to travel to united states, fortunately and unfortunately, I stopped my 3 months program and went to US. When I got here, I had to work a little bit and settled down before deciding going back to school, I made a good score in my GRE and applied for my Msc program in economics. Part of the requirements is evaluating my result through WES. I applied for WES evaluation and also applied for my transcripts from Imo State University and Nnamdi Azikwe University, I paid #30,000 for Imo State and #10,000 for Nnamdi Azikwe, not without given out some tips to a lady that works in IMSU exam and records, to expedite the process because i cant afford wasting another year in US without getting this Msc done. It took only but two weeks for Nnamdi Azikiwe to forward theirs without any tip. This is the second month I haven't heard from WES with regard to Imsu, I sent my brother to the school to if they have actually done the transcript, to my greatest surprised I was told that my file cannot be found in the exams and records. This same transcript was sent to Nnamdi azikiwe before my previous ission, I have my original copies of both my statement of result and certificate and the duplicate copy of the transcript which i managed to get from Nnamdi Azikiwe. I have called some people i know working in the school, all they were telling me is; oh! since the new VC, everything is scattered, infact is that is how the system is ohh and bla bla bla...men, is horrible! I don`t actually know how to do this because is likely i may not get the spring ission because of the evaluation. Please guys i really need your suggestions and how to tackle this menace in Imo State University. I will never advice anybody to go to that school for any reason.

A quarter of a century ago, when The World in 1988 light-heartedly ranked 50 countries according to where would be the best place to be born in 1988, America indeed came top. But which country will be the best for a baby born in 2013?

To answer this, the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), a sister company of The Economist, has this time turned deadly serious. It earnestly attempts to measure which country will provide the best opportunities for a healthy, safe and prosperous life in the years ahead.

Its quality-of-life index links the results of subjective life-satisfaction surveys—how happy people say they are—to objective determinants of the quality of life across countries. Being rich helps more than anything else, but it is not all that counts; things like crime, trust in public institutions and the health of family life matter too. In all, the index takes 11 statistically significant indicators into . They are a mixed bunch: some are fixed factors, such as geography; others change only very slowly over time (demography, many social and cultural characteristics); and some factors depend on policies and the state of the world economy.

America, where babies will inherit the large debts of the boomer generation, languishes back in 16th place. Despite their economic dynamism, none of the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) scores impressively. Among the 80 countries covered, Nigeria comes last: it is the worst place for a baby to enter the world in 2013.

Quibblers will, of course, find more holes in all this than there are in a chunk of Swiss cheese. America was helped to the top spot back in 1988 by the inclusion in the ranking of a “philistine factor” (for cultural poverty) and a “yawn index” (the degree to which a country might, despite all its virtues, be irredeemably boring). Switzerland scored terribly on both counts. In the film “The Third Man”, Orson Welles’s character, the rogue Harry Lime, famously says that Italy for 30 years had war, terror and murder under the Borgias but in that time produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance; Switzerland had 500 years of peace and democracy—and produced the cuckoo clock.

I never expected Ngige to win the election no matter the circumstances, he has not done anything in the senate coupled with the fact that he is in a party that is perceived to be anti igbo party, so I see no reason why people think that the election was rigged. Why is it that Nigerian banks only issue BTA to people who are going for studies with a maximum of $4000 or its equivalent? If you want to travel or send money outside the country, banks can't issue you exchange, you still have to go and buy foreign currency through black market which is now being hyped by his cronies. Then where is the base for his policy? Because foreign banks transfer money straight from your to anywhere in the world apart from Nigeria.

olatade: The deaths of hundreds of people in detention facilities run by Nigeria’s military t Task Force (JTF) must be investigated as a matter of urgency, Amnesty International said today.
The group said it has received credible information from a senior officer in the Nigerian army that over 950 people died in military custody in the first six months of this year alone.
The report came on the same day that the 2013 Ibrahim Index of African Governance (IIAG), reported the quality of governance in Nigeria to be deteriorating, Nigeria ranking 41st out of Africa’s 52 nations in safety and rule of law, participation and human rights, sustainable economic opportunity and human development.
Amnesty said that most of the reported deaths occurred in facilities used by the military to detain people suspected of being of, or associated with, the armed Islamist group Boko Haram.
Lucy Freeman, Amnesty’s Deputy Director for Africa, said:
“The evidence we’ve gathered suggests that hundreds of people died in military custody in 2013 alone. This is a staggeringly high figure that requires urgent action by the Nigerian government
“The details of what happens behind locked doors in these shadowy detention facilities must be exposed, and those responsible for any human rights violations brought to book.”
A large proportion of these deaths are reported to have happened in Giwa military barracks, in Maiduguri, Borno State; in Sector Alpha, commonly referred to as ‘Guantanamo’; and in Presidential Lodge (known as ‘Guardroom’) in Damaturu, Yobe State.
According to former detainees interviewed by Amnesty, people died on an almost daily basis in both Giwa and Sector Alpha from starvation, suffocation or other injuries associated with overcrowding. Some suffered serious injuries from severe beating and eventually died due to lack of medical attention and treatment.
The interviews also revealed that in some cases detainees may have been extra judicially executed. Some described soldiers taking prisoners from their cells threatening to shoot and kill them. In many cases the detainees never returned. Others were reportedly shot in the leg during interrogation, were not provided with medical care and were left to bleed to death.
Another senior officer in the Nigerian army who spoke on condition of anonymity told Amnesty:
“Hundreds have been killed in detention either by shooting them or by suffocation…There are times when people are brought out on a daily basis and killed. About five people, on average, are killed nearly on a daily basis.”
In April 2013 Amnesty International delegates counted 20 emaciated corpses lying on the ground in the compound of the State Specialist Hospital mortuary in Maiduguri. Eye witnesses said that the bodies had been deposited by the JTF.
Several other sources told Amnesty that the same mortuary received a daily delivery of bodies by the JTF. They reportedly remain there until the mortuary is full and are then taken away for burial by Borno State Environmental Protection Agency (BOSEPA). Information received by Amnesty indicates that post-mortem examinations are not carried out at the mortuary or elsewhere.
Lucy Freeman added:
“International standards, as well as Nigerian laws, require that deaths in custody must be investigated thoroughly and impartially.
“Detainees have human rights and these must be respected in all instances.”
In many parts of northern Nigeria hundreds of people accused of having links to Boko Haram have been arbitrarily detained by the JTF. Many have been detained. incommunicado for lengthy periods without charge or trial, without being brought before any judicial authority, and without access to lawyers and families

All sanusi's policy as I know are full of harsh and create unemployment. After his unproductive bank policies, most banks got sold and a lot of people went back to labour market. Now with these stupid policy which I have not known the actual positive effect, what happens to all those Aboki people that are into exchange? Onile050: Sen. Bukola Saraki’s Security Withdrawn

Yesterday, the Inspector General of police directed the immediate withdrawal of security personnel detailed to the former Governor of Kwara State and current Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Distinguished Senator Bukola Saraki (CON). The security personnel withdrawn are from the Senator’s residences in Abuja and Ilorin.

That, it was an order from above is not enough reason to deny an elected person of his legal rights as prescribed by virtue of Kwara State Pension Law of 2010, Third Schedule, Section 2 (3) paragraph H.

While it is clear that this is not unconnected with the recent political activities going on in the country. No doubt, recent events in the nation have been taking strange and tragic dimensions but we have to look beyond our individual interests and let the weight of making Nigeria great dominate our minds as leaders and citizens as Nigeria is bigger than any individual.



By law, the Nigerian police have  contravened the rights of an elected citizen with deliberate harassment and intimidation to the person of Senator Saraki and we shall not hesitate to seek legal redress against  this arbitrary decision. 

This move by the Nigerian police authorities no doubt will definitely endanger the life of Senator Bukola Saraki. We hereby call on good citizens of Nigeria to hold the Federal Government responsible for any eventuality considering the fact that there are illegal arms going round the country without being properly checked.

Finally, Senator Saraki wishes to re affirm his commitment and readiness to uphold the virtue of democracy, good governance, , rule of law, equity and justice even in the face of this present intimidation and harassment as those are part of the sacrifices we must all make for a better Nigeria we will all be proud of.

About 44 people praying at a mosque in Konduga town, some 22 miles outside Maiduguri, Borno state, have been gunned down by suspected Islamic militants, security agents said.
A Department of State Service, DSS, agent and a member of a civilian vigilante group working with the military said, yesterday, they counted the bodies at the mosque after last Sunday morning’s attack.
Also yesterday, embattled leader of the Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau made a video appearance and claimed series of recent deadly attacks on security forces in the North-East. Shekau also insisted that he was in “good health” despite an on-going military offensive aimed at crushing the Islamist insurgent group he heads.
