I got this message from one Como Oil and Gas saying I have been shortlisted for interview and asking "their father" to pay 1K. I saw the message and immediately knew it was a scam. I can imagine how many people might have paid already. So I made sure I found out which platform they were using for their online payment (VoguePay), sent an email to them so others are not defrauded. Scammers have now moved to a new level in this country. It's possible they also got the details from NYSC, cos I know those guys have no security or from a NYSC mobilization list posted online by your school which has all your details including phone no. (Cos my sch posted the list on their website). Please do not fall for this.

Thanks for calling out this fraud. cool

But why are fraudsters so brazen in their approach to the extent of using a reputable online payment like VoguePay ?

Am aware they have a buyer protection programme that can help affected individuals to recover their funds http://voguepayblog.com/kb/deal-reversalcharge-back-due-frauds/

Recently read this on Punch: http://punchng.com/indigenous-firms-build-software-for-small-businesses/

This is an interesting development when local software can be developed to do the same thing all this foreign software are used for. Imagine that Nigeria spent up to N1 trillion Naira (i.e N1 billion X 1,000) on foreign software alone.

Kudos to www.probitybooks.com.

Do you know any local software produced in Nigeria that deserves any good mention too ( I can easily think of Remita, VoguePay, Interswitch etc).

Please mention others that deserve applause

Thankyou so much. I hav an with them but not satisfied with their customer service..... And srcondly, having issues editing an info (my mobile number) on their site...

I think what you are calling them for is what you can even do for yourself from your . You should simply go to your SETTING change your DETAILS (with this you can edit your phone number including other profile details on voguepay).

Are you aware they have a self- blog where you can get answer to issues like this? You should check http://voguepayblog.com/kb

This policy might look like it is NOT favourable, but let's look at the bright side.

1. There is a HIGH cost of transporting cash that will be reduced as a result of this policy (that means government and businesses can save money)

2. Government will print less cash while saving the money (it might surprise you that the cost of printing N50 note is higher than N50. In fact it is almost the same cost to print N1000 note)

3. Incidences of arm robbery will be reduced.

But this does not mean that government should not provide reasonable incentives for people to adopt it. While the sanctions of additional fees might be imposed, there is need for Government to work with private stakeholders in the payment sector like www.VoguePay.com and the rest to set up easy solutions for payment.

I expect that on a massive scale of enlightenment on mobile money, POS and web payment options for businesses in this cities.

Hello everyone.

I am not too familiar with Cashenvoy and how they operate, so i would appreciate it if anyone here could help provide some clarity. I am in the process of g up with them, but surprisingly they are asking for my credit/debit card PIN. Why would they need this?

Is this legit??

Really, you should ask their team what they need your debit card PIN for. From a security point of view, I doubt if this is safe. In fact, you are not expected to share your PIN with anyone.

On the other hand, you might be required to provide your Bank details for withdrawal purposes. I use VoguePay.com and I have never been asked to provide my card pin instead, I have to add bank http://voguepayblog.com/kb/add-bank--voguepay-/

You need to ask questions to confirm what next to do.

Which of the ecommerce platform are you using? Currently I'm building ecommerce application with Magento 2.1. Most of Nigeria payment Gateway don't have module for version 2. So the only option I have now is building one by my self, by Integrating Paystack

Whao shocked, so you had to create something from scratch. It might be easier using this plugin from VoguePay for magneto. https://voguepay.com/magento

Whytelyon:

Paystack pays out merchant services in Nigeria? I have never heard of that. That's obviously one factor to consider man.

VoguePay is one of the popular local gateways so it might be a better option than a relatively new one in of security and robust feature.

My organisation integrates VoguePay for online payment, they have the reputation for being the first payment aggregator in Nigeria to accept international payment. Presently offering the lowest transaction charges across the payment space in Nigeria. g up on VoguePay is free and simple and its mainly for SMEs. The solution works for eCommerce services as I know some of their clients that use it specifically for international transactions.

Hope it helps.

That's interesting, voguepay is clearly the leading payment processor in Nigeria, simple to integrate and now, very low processing fees.

But as for SME's marketing online, the problem is always delivery, how can an SME sell products for 2k when the delivery fee is 2k plus. I've been thinking of how to sell Aba made shoes online, but when I think of the incurred cost of shipping them to clients, I find the idea ridiculous.

Logistics is one big problem to solve in this country, abeg.. If you look around, some couriers do not charge up to 2K per delivery depending on the location.

I am wondering why VoguePay is reducing prices when almost everyone else in this country is raising prices? That is a good move for customers anyway, especially, me. Kudos to them.

I totally agree with @VastfinderBlog on the issues of fraud and how to prevent it in Nigeria.

What we have noticed is that online payment fraud is a global issue (not just an issue with Nigeria). Unfortunately, when small businesses owners are exposed to this fraud, they might not have resources to pursue redress.

Since these activities happen online, online payment gateways have an important role to play in preventing this from happening by making sure that...

1. Businesses using them perform adequate KYC to prevent them from using the payment gateway for fraud

2. Ensure they have adequate intelligence gathering mechanism for transaction monitorings.

The good news is that fraud rates will go down if there is collaborations among all players. There is an article that discusses how VoguePay - an online payment solution in Nigeria - is making efforts to ensure that its merchants and s are safe from payment fraud. They are the perfect example I can give.

Dear Fellow Nairalanders, I wish to bring to the notice of the general public the fraudulent activity of an online based company -
Aspireplus Global Resources, that sells "used" Exams Checker Cards online via http://cardstore.com.ng/.

I bought a NECO card from Aspireplus Global Resources, only to discover to my utmost surprise that the
card was USED already. Immediately I ed VoguePay , who processed the payment, to inform
them of the development. I also attached screenshots of the payment made and also the message from NECO
stating that the card has already been used by another candidate!

VoguePay replied and told me that though my payment was facilitated by VoguePay, there is a need for me
to the merchant (i.e. Aspireplus Global Resources - managers of cardstore.com.ng) from whom the
purchase was made. And for the past three days, I have been trying to call their line (08165602301),
and it is either unanswered or switched off. Only God knows what the problem is.

After a follow-up mail from me intimating VoguePay of my efforts and inability to reach the merchant
(i.e. Aspireplus Global Resources), VoguePay later ed me and advised that I approach my bank to
request reversal of the funds. But is it possible for my bank to retrieve money already paid out and
receipt issued with transaction ID?

Though, I feel helpless in this fight, I wonder how many others feel helpless and just give up because
there was nothing they could do? Just imagine how many people may have lost money to this criminal act
from Aspireplus Global Resources aka cardstore.com.ng simply because there was nothing they could do?.

For me, it is not about the sum per se, but for the fact that any binding contract must be followed up
and adhered to, unless there is a breach of trust, which is an indictment on Aspireplus Global Resources
aka cardstore.com.ng.

I am not going to lie low and take this shit from Aspireplus Global Resources .. Aspireplus Global
Resources must be exposed for who they really are - FRAUDS. They have refused to refund the money
despite mail sent to them from VoguePay requesting them to help attend to my request or they should
simply send the NECO Card Pin I paid them for shikena.

Find screenshots attached.
Thank you.

SimplePay, Cash Envoy and VoguePay are all doing well in the e-payment industry. They all have there basis features and niche in the industry. However i am much more particular about Voguepay. Basically Voguepay targets audience are SMEs and this allows small businesses sign up for free on Voguepay platform. and you need little or no cash to integrate the platform on your website. Moreover Voguepay charges are limited compare to other payment platform.

As a Voguepay merchant, you really dont need help from any developer because all the plugins you need are already on voguepay platform and they are easy to integrate.

I have been merchant on Voguepay platform for 2 years now and they have been really awesome in all ramifications in the E-payment sector
