Interesting one.
I'm not in anyways choosy when it comes to cultivars to use, neither do I have preference for any. Other factors influence my judgment when buying seeds aside the need to get first experience from much talked about cultivar.

The season of planting is my major determinant of cultivar to use. It helps me develop the strategy to employed through the growing periods, which includes;

* Cultural practice & Biological methods to help curb expected diseases predisposed to such variety.
* Seed treatment,
* Improved drainage & proper sanitation.

Trust me, even the best of Cobra, Pa, Platinum etc. will succumb to none stop heavy rainfall (No tomato can, I stand to be corrected).

Moreover, during my stay in the North, I never even saw these hybrid varieties being farmed. Wetin concern them with hybrids? Uc 28b and others where used mostly and they are having excellent results walahi.

Nevertheless, if your choice is based on other characteristics of the cultivar in question, such as; taste, size, flavour, etc. then, that's a different one altogether. My preference would tilt towards the Roma cultivar.

I still don't understand how they do it over there in the North.

I ed u in particular for granite but u couldnt supply cos of scarcity , i bought granite 170k to 175k for 30tons , i hv security with my sight and its inside estate , i count used bags as i sit and watch usage then count remaining bags and close for the day . Granite is poured in my presence in from my compound as its fenced and hv houses already built in between, am on ground all thru the whole process,

Well, sorry about the denial. But, if you had shared your profile with us here before you applied, we would have advised you appropriately. Canada is very strict with ttavel travel history. That is one country that if you have never travelled out before, it would be very difficult to get their visa. I have not seen anyone without ttavel history get a canadian visa( i stand to be corrected though). You might have to chill for now and try other countries before reaaplying to canada again

Secondly, as for the ties, you did not mention the documents you submitted. Since you just finished nysc, are you working yet, are you married, do you have landed properties. What documets did you submit to establish your ties at home here. It will be difficult to advise appropriately without this info.
By and large, you have to work on this points raised before you can reapply. Why not look at other countries like schengen to try and boost your travel history

Just received the decision email few days after getting the biometrics letter and the reason for denial is:

Visa office is Kenya.
Any thing I should be prepared or worried about at this stage?... Does it mean that processing has commenced on the application?

The process begins with getting all the info you can read up here and opening your online on the Government of Canada website.
But that is after you do a thorough document gathering to make a water-tight application.
Documents I submitted are quite many all to prove my ties in Nigeria. They include:
An honest LOE, Marriage cert., birth cert., newspaper publication of change of name if married female, C of O of your properties, company reg documents of a business owner, letter of employment, letter from your employer stating your job title and roles, statement of acc., bank intro letter, pay slip, family pics, tenancy agreement, intro letter of who is inviting you (if you dont have, docs appointment will do), kids school fees receipt, previous visas, flight reservation, hotel or accommodation booking reservation, work ID card, budget sheet, photos and docs of your building if any, etc.

The list is endless after certain key docs.

Anyways, I guess that's only possible with online submission, they rejected some attachments at VFS (family pictures, school fees receipt).
I just wished I had used online, though I wanted a faster route cos we don't have the luxury of time anymore.

For those experiencing long delays with their visa applications, i think the paper route is faster as against the online route judging from my experience.
We submitted on the 14th which was a friday and our visas were stamped on the 26th.we got picked our ports on the 10th of the following month.

Let me give back since I have benefited from this page. I applied for my Canada tourist visa first week in March (submitted in person) and got it approved in 6 days. After I received mine I applied for my mother and also took less than a week. I left Accra on Easter Friday. After reading all the comments here I got a doctors appointment and had 10k and enough money on my card to declare at POE. A week before I traveled 3 different people called and asked that I shouldn’t declare at POE unless asked but I had my money and doctors correspondence ready. This is because 2 people were given just 3 weeks entry stamp when they declared even with money and all documents. Another person was also sent back because it wasn’t stated in their visa application.
I traveled with my 19 months old son who has an American port. We used Brussels airline.

I submitted my landing card which I stated 10 weeks. She only asked how’s the little one doing and I said he was fine and lifted him up. She asked what are you here for and before I could answer she had given me my port and said enjoy your stay. After I left the cage to pick my luggage there were 2 other officers who were checking ports and asking questions. The lady took our port and said that’s a long holiday and I said yes I’m entitled to that much leave and she asked if I work and I said yes and she asked exactly what i do and where. The next question was why does my son have an American port and I said his dad is American and she smiled and said enjoy your stay.

I had an appointment with Dr Quin But upon arrival I realized it was about 45mins from my cousin’s place and she wasn’t going to be able to drop me for my appointments due to the distance. I checked cost of travel with Uber n taxi and it was going to cost me almost 200$ for every trip to Scarborough. So based on some of the names from this page I went to a building close to the Brampton civic hospital which has a lot of gynecologist/obs there and I booked an appointment with Dr. Ayodele. He made me pay 3500CAD cash at my first appointment. I’m told it includes all prenatal visits, post visit and epidural.
Brampton hospital is 2000CAD a night for mother . I send an update after delivery God willing.

Start applying now as Canada’s processing time can’t be known all the time. Some applications take less than a month, some run into months. My application took 5 months. I’ll advise you both apply together. For Canada visa, the duration is usually till the expiration of your port so if your port expires on 12th of dec 2024, your visa would be till 10th December 2024. So please start now and all the best.

So, have a US visa that just expired last week, not planning to renew now cos of the backlogs and massive denials, I want wifey to start medical Visa process so she can give birth there (EDD is around December).
When will be the right time for her to start and what will be the duration of visa they will give her?
Should I start a visitor Visa process as well so I can accompany her, we have no one or relative there to assist so I'm scared she might not be able to cope alone.
If I can accompany her, when will be a good time to start my own process?.. should we apply together or do we do it separately?
