GTB will never use lower gauge to cover their banks, they use 0.65mm or 0.7 or 0.55mm of full gauge type and they obey all conditions of wood work.

When you want to do flat wood work, stay away from using steptile Aluminum, run from Metcopo. Stay away from using low gauge 0.45mm. But use 0.55mm Only Longspan, if want to have assurance use 900mm corrugated type.

Wood work: If you want make wood work for flat houses.... do a purlin of max 550mm distance or 500mm perfect. Use a good carpenter, use straight 2 by 3 wood for purlin and finally use longspan metra 0.55mm if u want use 0.45mm use 900mm and good gauge and make the purlin for wood work line 500mm distance.

Always us b4 u do wood work so we can guide you. Only experience teaches all these.

all GTBank roof will be leaking too, because i know flat roof is their concept and no bank structure in Nigeria can stand shoulder to shoulder with them. The roofer did a bad job.

Hummmm , no ripe off yet,my bro inlaw who happens to be a builder is helping supplying me with quote as he doesn't know the engineer ,my foundation is 5 to 6 planks with double strip type of foundation,i bought my materials by myself Tmt for 238k per ton and cement 2550, and i still hv material left enough to do dpc even though i will be buying filling sand and pay workmanship. Site in question is 10mins from my residence so am always on ground for the past 2weeks to follow up daily.

Do you want to compared zinc lapping with that of factory corrugated Aluminum. If you use Metcopo on flat wood work not well done, you will end up doing repairs every raining seasons after expansion of at least one year.

We have more leakages of roof in SW compared to SE and SS. Why because they do their wood work higher.

High wood work, may cause more money in all level, but we give luxurious beauty and complete rest of mind in next 30years.

You built wide house with low wood work and you use Metcopo, you just want stress the roofer Next raining season.

I give free guide on wood work and can advise you with a better carpenters to work for you.

I was born and bred in a flat roofed house with the Swan Zinc you people have rejected today but till now the roof is still there and am not less than 30. So it's possible your friend' s house was roofed with all these "Painted Papers" called Aluminium sheets or Stone coated tiles.

Ma, the originator of building can't & will not know...your engineer or whoever is incharge is a smart person. get clear dimensions & kingpost length, lots of roofer will give you measurements here.

I ed u in particular for granite but u couldnt supply cos of scarcity , i bought granite 170k to 175k for 30tons , i hv security with my sight and its inside estate , i count used bags as i sit and watch usage then count remaining bags and close for the day . Granite is poured in my presence in from my compound as its fenced and hv houses already built in between, am on ground all thru the whole process,

Cement ripping off, vehicle that want to take cement bring use bag when they understand that is what u know. they sell buy securities break barrier. Painfully they use 2 or 3bags for what a bag will do. on delivery you may be rip of just counting surface while d did is done inside..

Reasons: The house is not wide. Just make sure to follow the conditions of doing the wood work, guide your carpenter your self, get more of 2 by 3, do closer purlins and your good to go.

This structure is on half plot of land i gez, if you hv used more than 30tons Granite to dpc level you are ripped off.your decking will consume 45tons Granite, 30tons Sharp Sand, 4tons iron rod, 130-140 bags of cement

Everyone is not a cheat, one can be cheated by 1 or 2 bags thats normal in site, but i wont occupy my mind with cheating as far as i know am doing all due diligence on security and ectera. I'm impressed so far with the amount of work done already and my left over will still do dpc and few columns. The quote of some engineers here was very scary and as such if i had kept looking at it , i tell u I wouldnt start this project , from professional fees to material needed . Just start and stop procrastinating, gradually u will finish and all challenges won over

Hello good evening everyone. I'm not a popular person on this section and thread so what I'm doing is a big ASK. Someone made enquires about handrails few days ago and I replied him. We talked and I showed him pictures of some of my jobs which he really liked. What happen to be a problem now is that he's scared of trusting a total stranger which is totally valid knowing how Nigeria is. But I know myself and I know that I don't live like that. I have worked for someone here on Nairaland and supplied to him down to Lagos from Nnewi. I happen to also sell mobile devices here to Nairalanders.
