chief since you have a bsc , if you don't have great grades like first class or 2:1 , your best option is to go for Post graduate Diploma or Post baccalaureate.
AlvinAlex:

These schools aren’t helping at all, I have emailed over 8 colleges, they all keep referring me to their ission requirements page and not giving me the direct confirmation I’m looking for. Please is it advisable to go for a program with credential; Ontario college certificate, seeing I already have a Bsc. Or it’s compulsory it’s a Ontario graduate certificate program?

but I have more home ties to Nigeria , I have a work permit in the country I am going but no ties there at all but all my ties are in Nigeria , family , property , business

fcisca:
If you have a legal status in the country where you’ll be for the 6months period, you can apply and do your biometrics there.
Samxx: 4:46pm On Apr 18, 2022
I don't have all my documents ready yet

CharitoJames:

Since you are traveling by May, Go ahead and apply then do your biometrics before May and find a way to do your medicals upfront too before you travel. All the best.
Samxx: 10:57am On Apr 18, 2022
is it possible to do biometrics ahead ? I plan to submit my application from Nigeria soon but I will be traveling for about 6 months by may , is there a way I can do my biometrics while I go ahead with gathering the rest of my documents ?

if you are using the new portal it has to be Mybankstatement because it is only 2mb , if you are using gckey you can use any of the two , but most people advises mybankstatement because it's just a single document and it's easier for the VO to use.

Sunkanmi64:
Thank you very much. Please can I generate mybankStatement ticket for the 4-6 months statement or I should just scan the normal one with many pages.
Samxx: 4:36pm On Apr 17, 2022
you only need 12 months statement if you are trying to go through NSE , for normal applications 4-6 months is okay

Sunkanmi64:
Good evening house, please can I use mybankStatement for my visa application if the does not have up to 12 months banking history, or I should just stick to the regular 4-6 months bank statement?

P.S. The belongs to my second sponsor. The first has over 12 months banking history and I plan on using mybankStatement for it too. Thank you very much.

thanks , I am going to pay my first year tuition in full but I also want to fund the GIC , I still have sufficient funds for POF I just want to make an air tight application regarding finances.

DestinationCann:
It can't be funded with form A.
I suggest you pay your school fees using form A instead and show POF for living expense in Naira. When you get to Canada, apply for living expenses using form A again.

Difference using form A for school fees and Aboki dollar for GIC of 20k CAD is about 2.6M. That difference alone is almost enough POF needed for 10k living expenses using CBN rate.

if you still have access to your student portal and generate student copy , it's 1261 and you can pay with your card , if you are using it for to apply for ission schools accept that pending the time you can go to school and request for official copy to sent to the school.

Good morning all. Can someone be kind enough to link me up with someone to help me process my transcript really fast from unilag. Thank you

it's a little tricky because if you were self sponsored you should be good with this profile , but since your sister is your sponsor did you include what she does to make the money , the money left in her is 9.5 m and if my calculations are right half of that is going to be basically spent on your next year tuition and expenses without showing a proper source of income , it's not about just submitting high bank statement, where did the money come from and is it going to keep coming that way is what the VO checks at times too , you can drop the documents you submitted so other gurus on here can help you check It out and see what went wrong and also order your gcms notes , very important so we know what exactly made the VO say that .

tosynn007:
Hello guys, my study permit application just got refused due to:

Thank you for your interest in studying in Canada. After careful review of your study permit
application and ing documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet
the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and
Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.
You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can
demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be
accompanied by a new processing fee.

How do I tackle it?

Paid my first term tuition fee and also submitted a high transacting bank statement with a transaction history of over 100m and a closing balance of 9.5m.

Also, I'm 25 years of age and presently working. I really don't understand what they meant by refusing me on personal asset?

I submitted my dad c of o which is quite worth a lot.

How do I tackle this?
Samxx: 11:43am On Apr 12, 2022
you can send me a mail , I have someone that can get this done for you for a small fee

PatrickOkunima:
Good morning, house.

Please I'd like to ask, is there a trusted online bureau de change in Nigeria where one can transfer naira and get his dom credited?
Samxx: 1:29am On Apr 11, 2022
a lot of people usually show proof of funds for a year plus 10k living expenses (12k if Quebec ) and then source of funds , that is what is required by IRCC and what a lot of people have done and used , even if you have the entire tuition you can show it but if you don't show source of continuous funds your application might still be denied "I am not satisfied the funds is available and accessible " is what your gcms note will say , so the normal requirement is a year tuition and 10k for living expenses , if you have more than that then fine.

Emmasonic4me:

This is not absolutely correct.

If you're self sponsored for more than one year program, you need to either show proof of fund for the entire duration of your studies (since you're not relying on the 20hrs/week work allowance to pay your fees) or you can show very convincing proof of source where the remaining year of study will be funded from. It's just a rational requirement.

Don't tell us someone has self sponsored and showed one year fund before. Such person might just be one of the lucky few with very lenient VO.

I wish everyone awaiting approval here success. For the ones that their applications were 'delayed', you'll definitely get there if only you don't give up. Keep pushing!

Read the college's refund policy or if you have a representative from the school you are talking to , I am not trying to be negative but just trying to be safe , some schools don't refund tuition , some refund if study permit doesn't go through , some can allow you keep deferring till you get your study permit , so just read their refund policy first and you can go from there .

if you are not going through Nigeria Student Express you do not need IELTS for study visa , and even go get ission most schools just require you to have taken your previous education in English so your weac result should suffice.

Fgahandel:
Good morning colleagues.
I am so new here. A friend referred me to this nairaland traveling page.
I have been reading messages fir few days now and getting some tips.
Though I plan to write my IELTS exam soon for study permit.
I need a lot of direction on where to start first . Should I write my IELTS exam first or are there courses I could do in Canada without IELTS? Then what next ?
I am a novice here, but I am determined to this course , because I know with the right information, commitment, direction from colleagues here and with God, I will make it to Canada.
Please and please I need your help
Thanks.

that POF won't fly , because firstly you are not self-sponsored , your dad is the one to sponsor you and that money doesn't cover all your expenses and that is all in his , so you are saying he is spending all he has to send you to school abroad , the VO will probably say that doesn't sound like a reasonable expense to make , that is my one cent though , you can wait for other gurus for their inputs too.

if your dad wants to sponsor you let him have more than enough like times two or times three sef , and if he is really willing to use all that money for you then chill for like four months and start building your own personal properly with that money if it is truly for you.
Like I said wait for the other gurus though.

Please I’m presently preparing my application too, I gain ission to Holland college to study Tourism and travel management, I am an HND graduate of public istration. I have good home ties just the funds to proof, I didn’t put accommodation in place before, I was working on tuition and 10k minimum requirement
Samxx: 5:41pm On Apr 07, 2022
But the required money is tuition for a year plus 10k CAD

ShowYoung:

Your friend can't go for Master degree because of her result.

Meanwhile, she can enroll for Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma which we all know as Post Graduate Diploma in Nigeria.

There are 1 year Grad Cert and 2 years Grad Cert.

If you graduate from 1 year Grad Cert, you'll be eligible for 1 year Post Graduation Work Permit while 2 year Grad Cert will qualify you for 2 or 3 year Post Graduation Work Permit.

If you choose either one, you can become a Permanent Resident after graduation.

If you have the time and funds to enroll for 2 year course, it is advantageous because it will get you 2-3 year PGWP. These years will get you enough time to file for your Permanent Residence without panic.

If you are constrained financially, you can go for a year, sometimes 8 month-, course which will get you a year PGWP. This option may be risky if you don't have a well detailed strategy, but I can tell you to not fret as there are strategies that can get you Permanent Residence after graduation. I wrote a post yesterday or two days ago on unfailing strategy on how to get Permanent Residence with a year course without panic of PGWP expiring.

Guys please I am new on here and I have been reading and following this thread from the first page but I've seen that most people have unique circumstances so please I want to ask a few questions.
I finished with a third class degree in the Department of Insurance and Actuarial science ( but my degree says Bachelor of science in Actuarial science )and I have seen that my best option is to do a PGD for two years so I can get the 3 years PGWP , Please does anyone have schools I can apply to that accepts students easily for a 2 yrs course ,and also please I really didn't do well in my degree because I was originally studying chemistry before I switched to this new dept , so please can I do a course in Business management and the VO won't think my previous degree doesn't tally with what I want to choose now.
Please I am leaning more to Ontario colleges , but please I am open to any ideas and help at all guys.
Samxx: 3:54pm On Apr 04, 2022
I have no study gap at all , I just finished this year and I am waiting on ASUU so I can get my certificate

ShowYoung:
Based on my knowledge, Actuarial Science is a branch of Mathematics, even though it has some element of Insurance in it, it is not a management course but purely Financial Mathematics.

With this, you cannot base your career or academic progression on just your degree if you have years of work experience.

If you have no job experience and not much study gap, you can enroll directly for PGCert related to your degree, this will show academic progression.

You should opt for PGCert in Banking or Financial Services, ing, Business Management or any course that relates directly to what you are doing in your place of work. For example, if you prepare reports and gather data, you are a data analyst and as such, you should opt for Business Intelligence and Analytics or Data Analytics; if you work in IT, say Networking, you should opt for Networking course etc.

With this, you can claim you want to study to improve your knowledge on what you do now which will later create a promotion for you or make you to be a Consultant etc.

Meanwhile, you could claim you wish to venture into academia, if you have some side gigs in some universities or polytechnics, by proceeding to do PGCert which relates to your degree.

You should also note that GCert is mostly 1 year (8 months) in duration, there are some that takes 2 years to complete though.
