@OP, but you are also planning to relocate.

The truth is that a lot in the middle class are now thinking beyond their big salaries. Big salaries without light, good roads, good affordable schools, good hospitals etc is useless. With the worthlessness of the naira, your big salaries won't be able to fund good education abroad but legal permanent residents abroad can attend those schools paying the local rates. What if an unfortunate sickness happens, where would you run to? While politicians will fly to a hospital abroad the next minute, you will be left to rot in ill equipped naija hospitals with your 400k salary

Secondly, the country is a shithole with useless police and institutions that only extort the people. Your big salaries will not save you from police brutality. If you doubt me, a police checkpoint with a laptop or an iPhone and see what will happen. Before you bring out your ID card, you would have been labeled a thief and extorted. Where other place in the world have you seen a national army opening fire on their own unarmed citizens? Do you know that Nigerian army has killed more Nigerians than foreign enemies?

Thirdly, if your president and all other politicians from federal to local use foreign hospitals, schools and have foreign citizenship for their kids without shame, why should the middle class be deceived by mere 1m naira salary to stay in Nigeria?

Fourthly, the worst part is that there is no hope that Nigeria will ever get better and this is because our politics is bullshit. Now, they have already started playing tribal politics ahead of 2019 and 2023 instead focusing on the issues. There is no other place in the world where the front runners in a national elections are useless set of people. If Nigeria was a normal society, 2019 elections should have been a battle between the likes of Sowore, Moughalu, Hashim and those other young outsiders but no,Nigerians will rather reinforce failure and expect a miracle. I can go on and on

Ladies and gentlemen, anyone who wants to remain in Nigeria should gladly remain. What I don't like is people trying to criticize others who want to leave. As long as you are immigrating legally and not trying to use a visitors Visa to leave the country, I encourage you to leave if possible. But note, if you worship money, stay in Nigeria cos you may not make all those crazy illegal money abroad. Here, we work hard. In fact, some people do 2 jobs to make ends meet but we enjoy what majority of Nigerians may never enjoy in their lifetime cos the society works for all.

Election should do and come and go. Let this unnecessary war between youths on nairaland, that are probably broke, stop.

Exactly. You see how stupid these nairaland youths are. They are not fighting for their fathers but someone's else father who will never realise they even exist. Thank God there are no separate market or services for Buhari and Atiku ers. At least both set will ply on the same bad roads, patronize the same rubbish hospitals while they people they enjoy world class hospitals abroad, they will go to the same rubbish schools while they children of the people they go to classy schools abroad, they will suffer light problems etc
How can human beings with brains be this stupid?

but many people study in Nigeria too. The reality is they study abroad but still come back home. There is nothing wrong in bringing back skills to move ur country forward

The problem here in nigeria that we still have the slave and master mentality.

I believe in this. Ask and it shall be given unto you.

How many nigerians ask and
protest for infrastructures.

Bros, most Nigerians want a second option or country for themselves and their kids. Having Nigeria as your one and only country you have access to is one of the biggest risk you can ever take. People like us in the middle class left Nigeria not actually because we want to "make" it but because we want our children to live where things work and get a second port.

If the likes of Saraki, Tinubu, Ben Bruce, Rochas etc and even "integrity " Buhari children have citizenship or access to other countries even with their wealth and influence here why will an average Nigerian get stuck in the shithole? Or you want to tell me that you are more patriotic than them?

Southerns get shops and do business in the North without reading meaning to what they will commit in the future. Since this issue has been States have not taken the lead either. It is on FG to act and lead on this.

We should judging people for crimes they have not committed. It is called PREJUDICE.

There are many northerners in the south doing businesses today and nobody is worried about them. There is no business southerners do in the north that involves occupying a large expanse of territory handed over to them by govt. Seeing what is happening in the middle belt, the best thing the government should have done is to restrict the ranches to the states of the cattle owners to avoid future problems. It is not Prejudice, it is common sense except there is an ulterior motive which people suspect.

PDP for Political reasons has repeated tried to demonize ranches. FG has the responsibility to take the lead. It is needed to help farmers. It will help resolve the reoccurring conflicts. And it will improve Food Security in the country. I am glad the Government is not giving up on it for convenience,

You have not understood why people are opposing it. I don't think anyone would give a damn if it is set up with govt money in the North only. Afterall the north has the biggest land area and they are the ones who own these cows so why take the ranches outside the core north if there is no ulterior motive? People are just afraid of conflict of the future so restrict the ranches to the core north alone, simple.

The bone of contention is not necessarily the rejection.

It is their country and they reserve the prerogative to accept or deny applicants entry into the USA

The problem is the N350, 000 non-refundable fee the applicants would have paid to get to the interview stage.

It is refundable in other countries but non-refundable here. Why? Visa is 5 years in Kenya but 2 years in Nigeria. Why?

If the fee is refundable, i can assure you a lot of the complaints will diminish.

But the truth is this;

The high influx of Nigerians trying to get into the Usa, and the debilitating state of our economy, has enabled and emboldened the US embassy office to turn the visa applicants into a money making racket.

It is non refundable now yet a lot of people are risking it to apply. If they make it refundable, then more than half of Nigeria population will storm their embassy to try their luck since they have nothing to lose. Lol

Why can't these people use their energy to fight their government instead of causing nuisance in another man's land. Why can't they initiate revolution to force a change in their country. They are lucky america try to respect human rights, they should try this stunt at Chinese or Russian border and see if they will live to tell the story.

I have being reading that line a lot online please can you explain those untapped opportunities?

It means you can go to China and import fake goods. Then bribe customs,SON,NAFDAC,police ,FIRS and everybody bribable and bring it into the market, sell them and make your millions overnight.

It also means set up a business and pay your workers 10k a month which you will pay once in 3 months afterall owing salaries in naija is no big deal. Make good profit and pocket the money and bribe FIRS to avoid paying taxes. In the western world, you must pay your workers minimum wage hourly and you must pay your taxes so this will reduce your profit margin. Infact there are a lot of examples of untapped opportunities

We all know that Nigeria is the easiest place to become a millionaire overnight but this is because it is a country of crooks.

What if Buhari shows up,since the organisers will not leak the debate questions out to the PDP candidate like they did in 2015 which was not fair?

Even if you leak the questions to Buhari one year ahead, he will still fumble. The guy got nothing upstairs. In fact,Buhari will not attend instead he will quit the race. The interesting part will be the VPs osibaba and obibaba slug it out, that one will be interesting.

What is the difference between PDP and APC? Nothing. They are all thieves mortgaging the future of you idiots ing them. Reno is currently in the US with his kids while you idiots scream sai baba and Atikulate. If buhari or Atiku wins how will it benefit you paupers ing them? Reno and his likes in other parties see you as a stepping stone to the bright future of their children. Vote APC or PDP with hungry belly, but have it in mind that Reno's kids, Fani Kayode's triplet or Buhari's grand children with still rule your generations after your demise.

Best comment. Please tell them. If I say ers of these politicians both in APC and PDP are fools, they will come for my head.
You don't know Buhari or any other politician in person, Buhari and other politicians do not know you and will never know you yet you carry their matter for head insulting everyone, is that not capital foolishness?
To APC and PDP fanatical ers, do you know that the likes of Tinubu,Saraki, Buhari,Atiku, rochas ,Fashola , fayose etc all have grown up children? Do you know that most of their children have foreign education, dual citizenship and are enjoying a lot of privileges in Nigeria? Yet you don't see them carrying politicians matter for their head. Who do they leave it to? Online miscreants like you guys(you know yourselves) while they watch how stupid you all are. I pity you guys.
When next you open your mouth to these politicians, try to know their children first and let them lead the assault cos they are the beneficiaries of your foolishness

The only problem we are having in this country is that educated Nigerian Youths continue to evil even when it consume them of their moral, social and economic right. At a time self, being graduate can never give you common sense because common sense has never been common. We need good governance in this country. Buhari should go abeg!

The major problem is that our society is not built on independent critical reasoning. Our schools, churches etc don't encourage independent thinking and asking critical questions. In the developed world, a high school student could throw a president off balance by grilling him with critical questions but here university graduate don't even have the capacity to think independently.

Respect is earned. Things like this really make me sad about Africa but do I blame those who look down on us? The answer us No. Truth be told,Africa is not visible. There is nothing whatsoever that has ever helped humanity that has come from Africa. Is it cars, airplane, technology, internet? Just name it. Even the local manufacturing companies can only work with foreign machines/Input. What of crude oil? Without the whites, our crude oil will rot on the ground.

If it ever goes to a point where every continent will only use what it produces, Africa will thrown back to the dark ages immediately.
Look at Asia, it is absolutely impossible for anyone to look down on them, they have earned that respect.

Africa will only become visible not by the beautiful houses it builds but by what problems they have solved for humanity which everyone all over the world will use or see. But then the giant of Africa don't even have common electricity so what are we going to showcase to the world?

When there are different rules and standards for different people, conflict is sure to occur.

Look at anti corruption, different standard for different people.
Everywhere you look at in this country, the rules and standards are different depending on who is involved.

For proper development to take place in Nigeria, there must be one rule and standard for all

Do you want to know the truth about Buhari certificate saga? Wait 3 years after his tenure to know what transpired. That will be confession time from the actors.
This is Nigeria. If NYSC up till today didn't come out officially to say kemi's nysc certificate was fake because she is in the corridors of power, is it a whole president that a Nigerian institution will not protect?
