SINCERELY, I rushed into the thread to see one. I am not his fan but i have been curious to learn about his tenure in Anambra as a Governor. There is next to nothing about achievements he had then.

You may start it but once it takes on a life of it's own then there is no stopping it 11 Likes 1 Share |

The most heartbreaking part is we the citizens are not outraged at such wanton cruelty meted out against us by our leaders through pilfering and plundering our commonwealth

criuze:No those pictures are also from the east African conflict where the Massai tribesmen arm themselves against bandits and cattle rustlers. This conflict in east Africa started at the turn of the millennium, yet 20 years down the lane the same template is playing out in Nigeria... curious, isn't it |

I think Nairalad.com needs to do something about fake news being circulated here without any form of fact checking. Some one ed a video of a herder bathing in cow urine, and implied it was the Nigerian Fulanis and its amplified to the front page hook, line and sinker First of the person is dressed more like an east African Massai tribesman than a Nigerian. Secondly the practice of urine baths is more common in India where cows are idolized. So these video reeks of red flags yet the mods just post such offensively tagged, racist video to the front page.

If he opposes the protest Nigerians complain, if he s them Nigerians still complain. We are our worst enemy, we are never objective. You should know that there are people who the right to protest but oppose trampling on other people's rights to free movement - it's not rocket science 1 Like 1 Share |

I have watched with utmost iration the steady and gradual progression of this project to its completion. Ordinarily this is just another project if this was a normal clime, but after the politics played by various past istrations using this project, and its economic multiplier effects on the south eastern economy of the country; the project has attained a "larger than life" status. The Buhari istration has completed a major project - lagos-ibadan rail line in the south west within one istration (something we thought was impossible) The istration is on the verge of completing the second niger bridge (a commendable feat) As a Northerner I am yet to identify any such real, major project in the north (started and completed/being completed). The mambila dam is bugged in legal and funding stalemate, we all know the so called kano-maradi line is a long thing, just like the baro port commissioned and abandoned. rather we are plagued with insecurity and unemployment in the North. While Buhari will go down as the best civilian president "infrastructurally" to have happened to the country (argue with yourself) as far as the North is concerned he is warming up to be the worst in all aspect. But he still has about 2 years to change that.

why are we like this in this country. I have always said it and will continue to say it - let's up our standards as citizens (in this case the journalist reporting this) and the standard at the top leadership will also have no option other than improve. Let me ask of what benefit is the pictures of those cutting tapes to this story. rather let us get: pictures of the facility details of its capacity what improvements in metric has the new one got over the last one... and other useful information 2 Likes 1 Share |

htdot:Hence my 3rd point. We cant just sit by and do nothing. We have seen the role false media played in the Rwandan genocide, we have also seen what a laissez faire approach to regulation can produce with the 2008 global financial crisis which brought the world to her knee financially. Are willing to wait for a catastrophe brought about by selfish self regulation of social media or the lack of it? |

It's no secret that most conservative social media s are being targeted for suspension or outright ban based on claims they enabled falsehood and hatred. There is deafening silence from the vocal oppositions to nigerian social media bill given America's censorship of her social media and their eagerness to "report" Nigeria to America. The hipocracy of it all is that America would have been in the forefront of condemning such censorship if it was done by another country. 3 things come to play here- 1. Americans have handed regulation of the social media to the tech companies them selves. Self regulation is a recipe for disaster anywhere. 2. No where is social media regulation more needed than here in Nigeria especially for censorship and penalizing deliberate peddling of falsehood as we saw in the END SARS campaign and its destructive aftermath to the Lagos economy 3. We must learn from the above by creatively enacting regulations that not allow self regulation by the tech giants and also has enough checks and balances to avoid abuse by any government 1 Like |

Professor Sheka! I didn't read the article but hus picture alone brought back memories.
