I published an article titled “8 Scenarios You Can Be Friends With Your Ex,” you can read that HERE ( http://popafri.ca/12QQDsn ) if you missed it. I came across a picture on Facebook recently with a guy stating that he doesn't have any exes, once he breaks up then the chick is dead to him. This brought me to the realization that some people don’t ever and I mean ever want to consider remaining friends with their exes. This could be attributed to different reasons so in this article, I am going to explore five scenarios remaining friends with your ex will be foolhardy. 1.Annoying Exes: Nobody in their right sense seeking sanity and peace of mind wants to ever remain friends with an ex that was nothing but annoying through the course of a relationship. More especially so when the ex seems to be even more clingy after a break up, many people would rather flee than endure such annoying behavior. When You Are Single and Searching: This period is not the most ideal of times in being friends with an ex. They only remind you of what it feels like to be in love and their presence can easily cloud your judgment in wanting to get back together. This may not necessarily be good for you in the long run. 2. When Your Ex Did the Dumping: Remaining friends with an ex is always hard when it is not a mutual breakup and more so if your ex did the dumping. Nobody likes to be walked out on and your motive for wanting to remain friends would be considered suspicious. In truth, you don’t just get over people that fast more so since they left when you were not ready. 3. When You Are Jealous of Your... READ MORE http://popafri.ca/1B8FuT1

If you haven’t heard the name Dapo Daniel Oyebanjo, you are sure to have heard of the name D’ Banj. He is one of Africa’s most recognized entertainers and you can’t help but notice this young man who is practically oozing talent from his every pore. He was born in the northern city of Zaria, Kaduna State on June 9, 1980 but hails from Shagamu in Ogun state, Nigeria. He dropped out of military school at the age of 14 to pursue his interest in music much to the displeasure of his father. He plays the harmonica, an instrument he was taught by his late elder brother, Femi Oyebanjo who sadly died in a plane crash at the age of seventeen. His stage name D’ Banj was coined from his names Dapo Oyebanjo but he is also known as The Koko Master, igwe, Skibanj, and Eja Nla. His debut albu “No Long Thing” which was released in 2006 took the Nigerian music scene by a storm and a super star was born. He matched the success of this album with “Rundown/Funk You Up” in 2006. If Christianity is said to be a monotheistic religionbased on the life and oral teachings of Jesus as presented in the New Testament and also going by the notion that Christianity should be learned from the bible only, then don’t you find it awkward and strange that Jesus Christ himself never wrote a line, nor ever commanded his Apostles to scribble any sort of scripts that would have featured in thebible today?Come to think of it, theNew Testament informs us that Jesus could both read and write. The gospel of Luke tells us of an incident where Jesus read from Prophet Isaiah, while A age in John’s gospel demonstrates that Jesus had the ability to write. And so ask yourself this question; why should a religion whose doctrine centers on a mystic figure “Jesus’’ have no tangible written by the redeemer of the religion.According to John’s gospel, Jesus’ adventures were too numerous to be documented, John 21:25 ‘‘but there are also many other things that Jesus did; if every one of them were written down, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written’’, let’s take this to be an hyperbole anyway but, in my own opinion, these omissions could have served as better s and relatively significant life tales and teachings of Jesus than the unnecessary repetitions we are saddled with in the Gospels. The content of the Holy Bible couldn’t have been unknown to Jesus Christ even before he was sent down to earth. If Jesus could read and write, then why didn’t he leave behind anything for humanity?I think Humanity deserves the first-hand knowledge of his innermost thoughts; we should dwell on all his practices and abide by his moral standards.John 20:30 “and many other signs truly did Jesus inthe presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book’,humanity did miss some Grand Slams that featured Jesus’ great achievements! The Bible is riddled with unnecessary repetitions and astonishing contradictions and which I feel wouldn’t have be present if it had been written by a single soul whose perfection can’t be matched by no man; Jesus! The content of the Holy Bible couldn’t have been unknown to Jesus Christ even before he was sent down to earth.Perhaps, the Holy bible would have been a more cohesive and organic one if it had been written by a single person, preferably; JESUS! -Daramola Rotimi Samuel

The Political Melodrama of the Nigerian State is one that has a lot of comedy, thought-provoking jokes that the human brain finds laughable but current world politics finds unacceptable. Where shall the script be written from? What really is the plot of this story? Is the subject matter worth all this drama? Is the Nigerian state not moving towards berthing at a ‘pestilential’ aqua? Let us go a bit back to the events of the past! After the death of the late President, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, the man called Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan became Nigeria’s president. The expectations and hopes of Nigerians was brought up. They expected a president who once had no shoes to give them not just shoes but transportation to schools. Alas, they were shocked as not only were their shoes taken away, those in school were abducted- the Chibok girls. It is quite appaling to state that the Nigerian state witnessed another kind of leader- a leader who started political permutations towards a second term when he had not spent a year in office as president, hence, all activities were geared towards his second term. In a society like ours, is such a political attitude good for us? A sharp ‘No’ is the answer. Any and every form of opposition to the President’s dream was met with a conquering slap, hence, the Nigeria Governor’s Forum crisis that led to the new Nigerian mathematical formula- sixteen is higher than eighteen! What a country!! Progressing into the spate of impeachments and attempted impeachments that rocked the society a couple of months ago, the desperate attempt to impeach perceived enemies of the president is totally...http://popafrica.com/political-melodrama-nigerian-state/#

In the wake of an unacceptable defeat of the super eagles (as many would call them) by the Sudanese national team, a lot of questions are being asked by Nigerians regarding the future of coach Stephen keshi and his backroom staffs. After a fair display at the just concluded world cup, Nigerians anticipated quite a lot of improvements in the team but this isnt turning out just as expected. A team that boast of being Africa’s defending champion has not been able to record maximum three point against lowly rated opponents in the race for Africa’s most prestigious football competition to be hosted by Morocco next year. This isn’t a good sign of things to come. Its about time the coach and his entire team be questioned? What happened to the team that filed out for the world cup ? Where are our African champions? We hear of Nigerians doing well in their respective leagues, is it that hard for them to reciprocate it in their national side? Nigerians want to know? It would be a disaster if we fail to...http://popafrica.com/wake-call-dear-super-eagles/#

There is no doubt that Africa has come a long way in the use of the social media in recent times. With the coming of new technologies, Africans have found adapting to these changes very quickly and perhaps that s for why there are so many Africans on social media platforms. The use of a site like Facebook for instance is on the high side, recent statics shows that there are thirteen million (13m) Facebook s from Egypt, South Africa has about nine million, four hundred thousand (9.4m) while Nigeria has five million, three hundred thousand (5.3m) s. With these astounding figures, it is unarguable that the social media is a veritable tool for social and economic development in any given country. Asides the growth of the use of technology by African countries, the entertainment industry has witnessed tremendous growth. African entertainers now have international recognition and many of them have gotten international award nominations with some of them going on to win. Musicians like D Banj, Wizkid, Fuse ODG, R2bees, 2 Face, Davido and actors such as Ramsey Nouah, Jim Iyke, Desmond Elliot, Van Vicker, Majid Michael Nadia Buhari, Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde to mention but a few have been able to achieve international super star status. Looking at the growth of all these entertainers, it is.... http://popafrica.com/effects-social-media-entertainment-africa/

The race for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket took a surprising turn at the weekend when Senator Bukola Saraki decided to opt out of the race. “I am stepping down my ambition because Nigeria’s political outlook for 2015 is very complicated and this is the time for every patriotic politician to situate his personal ambition in the context of the country’s overall interest”. He said, “I don’t think our party can afford too much internal rancour going into next year’s election. I therefore think some of us need to make the sacrifice and be part of the solution rather than part of the problem of the party.” I think this very disappointing as he is the only aspirant with a good enough credibility of which the electorate yearns for. As a democrat he should have left his fate to be decided fairly in the primaries. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has wasted no time in declaring his interest in the race and has put his money where his mouth is. He on Monday bought the form for 27.5million, becoming the....http://popafrica.com/apc-plot-thickens/ via #PopAfrica
