brightk: well i havent seen someone with a bga reflow station machine here in nigeria.i believe u can find one in lagos(d last time i checked, i didnt find any in computer village, maybe i nor waka far but i tink one or 2 persons has it.).. i also believe if u can find the right person with the right equipment u dont have 2 buy a new motherboard..

VGA problem happens 2 all motherboard irrespective of the manufacturer.. when your vga chip generates heat, it tends togradually shift the chip away from the board...using an smd rework station would do d board no gud but instead harm it esp by a quack..its not by heating the chip.the best bet is if u can find someone with the reflow machine 2 remove d chip and resolder it back den u are gud 2 go.. using hot air from an smd rework station will not sustain it..it might last 4 months and come up with the same issues again.u can google bga rework station 2 get an idea of what am talking about..
Thanks bro. Any idea aw much the rework ish will cost me if I find it in lagos? Trying to go for the cheaper option in motherboard, laptop, or rework

all4naija: Your VGA is done, man. This is one of the most commonest problems with HP pavilion series laptops. Go get a new motherboard because a REFLOW will not sustain it again as it has been done by your technician more than necessary before.
From what I hear a motherboard costs an arm and a leg. Will you advice me to get a motherboard or to get a new laptop?
What is the assurance that the motherboard's VGA(which I reckon will be fairly-used) will not be half-way bad
Thanks bro

KazeKage1:
Hello Sir/Ma,

This could be due to a few things, but first i'd like to know how long you've been using this notebook?

Bad RAM - Is the percentage of RAM dedicated to VGA (Graphics) overclocked/underclocked? Did you try to tweak any settings recently? Have you tried to clean the RAM using a soft brush w/methylated spirit? Have you tested a different RAM on it?

Flex - This could well be the problem but i need you to answer a few questions; Does the screen flicker when you power it on? Has the laptop ever fallen down (knowingly or unknowingly)? Is the 'grip' on the flex area strong or weak?

Update - Did you recently update the BIOS software version?

Over-heating - This could have fried a chip that's responsible for graphics display.

Take it to a credible technician who can look at it.

Let us know how it goes.
1. How long? September 2009
2. RAM? Don't think its over/under worked
Cleaned with brush? I think the technician I gave did that, maybe that's why it worked for a whilee before reverting back.
Tried with a new RAM? Don't think so
3. Flex? Nah! When it eventually comes on, it doesn't flicker, the neck of the laptop is firm, though the screen has gapped, but I'm sure that can't be the reason?
4. It has fallen down, maybe once or twice, like a few months back but it came right back on and nothing seemed to be amiss afterward.
5.Overheating? I think its used to be hot before, but d technician I gave said it comes with all AMD laptops, and he removed sumfn there, now it doesn't overheat again.

I gave a technician, twice. After each time it works for a couple of days and reverts again. And the technician says he can't work on it again that the motherboard is weak or sumfn. Thanks for ur interest

vanitty: Yes, It is important for married couple to be singing from the same hymn sheet so yes it is important for couple to practice the same religion. Ever of the popular adage, a couple who prays together stays together?!

However hubby is going about it the wrong way, he can "force" you to be a Christian but are you truly saved or just going to church on Sundays for the sake of it.

Poster just some questions
1. Was your marriage blessed in a church?
2. Has Hubby ever followed you to the mosque
3. Were your children christened?

Good question

We have to warm up to experienced players. We should not allow ego to blind us. Mourinho and Ronaldo were not in the best of last season, but they both managed to get on professionally. I really do not understand why players in top leagues are shut out of the eagles!

We were defeating minions at regional level and we thought we could play against Spain as we played against Togo!

ABYSMAL?!! Com'on. Abysmal is extreme. U now say Abysmallt poor. Let's be objective here. Our results might noT have been good enough, but our performance was very good. Considering the factors of experience, team chemistry that uruguay and spain have got over us, and still we held our own against them

In your last post, you asked me to take a look at your post above and extract an analogy.

There is no analogy here. A soldier broke a young woman's back in a dispute over sleeping arrangements and you want to compare that situation with another young lady already in the dock who insulted a presiding magistrate? What are you saying? Where is the link between these two events? angry

I don't think you know what 'corny' means. If you did you wouldn't have used it in your write-up. I would also suggest you try to find out what 'contempt of court' means too.

Thank you very much for your veiled insults sir.
She was deprived of her sleeping space <---punishment enough---> she was given community service.
As a result of her unbridled tongue, the soldier hurt her <---extra punishment---> as a result of her unbridled tongue, the judge gave her a harsher sentence.
The soldier didn't have to hurt her. The magistrate didn't have to punish her further.

I'm sorry you don't see any analogy.

obi2012: you said the military does not discriminate and that women and men are treated equally, i just showed you that they are not treated equally in the military..

I am in the US that is why i used the US as an example. Nigeria military, the country in question also recognizes females as the weaker sex..

You are asking me what it is about human right that i keep bringing it up? Were you not the one that said women are fighting for equal right hence the soldier had the right to slap her?

You did not answer my question, did your dad slap your mom everytime your mom questioned his decisions?

1. Human rights can be raised when children are sent to war. Not women. As long as you are of enlistment age, no human rights can say you shouldn't combat cos you are a lady.
2. Equal rights and Human rights are 2 different concepts. Try to differentiate. You are trying to blur the lines between them.
3. Considering my mum was well brought up, she always questioned(if she had to) his decisions respectfully. You think if the lady did the same, she'd be better of now?
4. Pls you have not looked into the analogies I presented.
Thanks
Rhemmymatician(m): 4:26pm On Jul 08, 2013
obi2012: i dont know where you are coming up with these assumptions.. I think you just discovered the word equal rights.. First of all the military does not discriminate against women. Discriminate would mean looked down upon, but they do separate from men, women and children. Everyone is not equal. The military does not harm unarmed civilians even during wars. The military does not permit female soldiers at the fore front of battle even in the US which is the most advanced when it comes to human rights. So of course there is separation, you just dont know what you are talking about.

Every man from when they were little are taught to walk away from the situation when it involves a woman regardless of if she provoked you or not. Did you witness your dad beating your mom because she said something to him? Regardless of what a woman says to you, if you were well brought up, you should not touch her as a man.

some countries permit women to fill active combat roles, these are: New Zealand, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Italy, , Norway, Israel, Serbia, Sweden, Switzerland and Taiwan. In 2010/11 USA gave it a trial, both eventually scrapped it. Women Fought in WW1 and 2. I hate to digress, but I don't know why you jumped to U.S.A. And what is it with your human right claim. What concern human right with ladies going to war? Are they forcefully enlisted?

Anyway I'm still waiting on your take of the two previous analogies I made. Thanks you sir

Pls do me a favour and read one of my previous posts I wrote(I think the previous page or 2 back) about a court case, and let's try to analogize it to this.

A drunk driver hits someone standing squarely in the middle of the road. And you blame only the driver? (Forgive my analogies) pls answer.

What are you saying sir? What are you saying? undecided

In one breath you justify the commandant's actions and in another you wish the victim a quick recovery. Show your hand and quit the doublespeak. There are incidents when blame can be assigned to all the parties in a dispute/conflict. This is NOT the case here. We should not blame the victim here. We have been doing that for far too long. And where has it taken us?

The soldier in question must be punished. Severely.
Pls do read my previous posts as regards a court case. Please do. I'll like to hear your views on that. Then we analogize it to this scenario. Thanks

And you are playing the saint card, sitting on the fence...neither here nor there. I would like to ask you though...do you know the military rules and regulations and if yes could you please quote one that says if an officer of a lesser rank insults his superior the punishment is fatality? Now the issue is that she is not of the military and even if she were, physically assaulting her is not a punisment. I know a few rules back when i was in the man o war like when you are late for training you do 50 push-ups or you ride the bike or any other punishment that fits the situation (i don't ever recall being slapped or punched). Her offense was talking back at her superior which to me is a minor offense that the right punishment should have been given to her like the "pick a pin" or "frog jump" or any other befitting punishment which for women are harsh and tedious. So my brother let us be honest with ourselves, in Nigeria there is always the abuse of power. Let me tell you something there is a reason why this thing happened...to expose the rotteness of this people (truth be told if he knew she would be crippled he never would have laid a finger on her whether she cursed his full generation or worse).
" ...And if yes could you please quote one that says if an officer of a lesser rank insults his superior the punishment is fatality?".... Depending on the level of insult, he could actually be court martialled
"..... insults his superior the punishment is fatality?" Sir, Fatality implies death, the lady didn't die.

obi2012: Did your father not teach you not to raise your hands on a woman? Do you not know they are a weaker sex physically? Yes they are all for equality but does that mean you have to exert your physical strength on them? MAYBE YOU DON'T HAVE PROPER UPBRINGING

Now we can all see why Nigeria is the way it is, look at most of the responses in this thread.. You are talking about a woman versus a man, a trained armed military man versus a civilian and you people are ing the man for this act.

This is why our rights continually get violated, we cower in fear and constantly are brutalized by people we put in power. In other countries, the military is not feared but respected and ired, yet in Nigeria, the government, police and military people constantly violate our rights and we still cower in fear. How can a military man push a civilian woman and she questioned why she was pushed and you people say its her fault.

i was just on a flight into baltimore airport last week and a military C130 from iraq landed behind my flight. The announcement was made on the PA system that they had landed, see how the whole airport rushed to sing the national anthem and hug them and welcome them back for serving their country. Old people, kids and everyone that they never knew before rushing to welcome them back. When will we have national pride in our military and police? If we dont speak up, our military will never shape up.

In the US, you rarely see military people wear their uniforms unless they are on official assignment, you would never know they are military officers. In Nigeria, they use their uniforms to intimidate you. In Nigeria, the military goes somewhere on duty, all you hear about is how they raped women and beat up people.

The harassment has to stop at some point.

Bros pls don't cuss/insult. You can get your point across without that.
That said, you asked if I had proper upbringing. Why didn't you ask if the girl(victim) had proper upbringing? Double standards? Or you just not objective.
Just so you know. The military does not discriminate btn a man and a woman. Everybody is equal.
I never blamed the lady wholly. She's PARTLY at fault. Like I said b4, I was so well brought up that, if I were in her shoes I won't suffer her predicament

i've not begrudged him the right to express his opinion, which as you know, is like an a55hole of which everyone has one.however, in expanding his intellectual horizon and enlightening him that a "whole captain of the nigerian army" isn't a god or deity I merely expressed my own opinion also. That a person is of the military doesnt give him a right to ride roughshod over unarmed civilians. Talk less of a lady. There's no justification for that whatsoever. to think that the assault was carried out - not by a rank and file rating - but by a commissioned officer who ought to know better is even more shameful&odious. 2 years ago my court registrar suffered a similar opprobrium in the hands of some jackboots. It only took a properly couched protest letter to the right authorities to get the errant officers remanded and substantial damages paid to her. The era of wanton military brutality is long gone. Anyone still worshipping them and glorifying their bestiality is merely a pusilanimous victim of mental masturbation.
Sir I would call your attention to a minor case I read of. The lady was arrested for something petty, I think the sentence was for her to do community service for 2 weeks or so. All through the sitting, she(the offender) was always chipping in snide remarks. After the Judge announced her sentence(community service) on her way out of the court she mouthed a 'Bleep-you' to the judge. Know what the 'wicked' 'brute' of a judge did? He called her back and handed the 'poor' 'innocent' girl a 3-month jail sentence, citing 'contempt to court' and some corny BS.
As a man of the law, wouldn't you say what the judge did is justified? Did anyone cuss the judge for that? No! He was praised gan sef.
My point is the judge was not blamed for using the extent of his powers against a 'poor', 'defenceless' lady. But when its a military man you now blame him?
As much as I respect you sir( I sure say you go reach my papa for age) I think you are not being objective.

In hindsight the Captain was wrong. But, do you think he set out to injure her spine? You call him an animal, a brute. If you have seen/experienced the military in such 'controlled' hostile situation, you will know that first thing they do is rake the person down. Now he could have done that and she'dd probably get injured, or not. But its the norm to get the person on the ground, most often in anyway possible.
My point is he didn't set out to injure her spine. He wanted her on the ground, and unfortunately she got badly injured in the process.

And whatever happened to equality? Please you people should stop stressing the 'woman' factor here.

Will I say so if it were my sister or my mother? Yes I will. because the truth must be said. You wonder, why was she the one kicked to the ground? I'm an human being just like the captain you don't give me a mouthful in front of my subordinates and then I look at you, smile and move on. No sir.
If I was in that shoe, will I try to fight for my friends right? Definitely.
Will I take a garrulous path or a diplomatic one? Diplomatic
Will I respect that I'm talking to a senior officer? One that is likely older than I am? Of course yes.
Bottom line: if I was in her shoes I won't suffer the consequences she's suffering now.

That said, I wish her quick recovery
