I had my interview today in Abuja and I was denied

The visa officer asked me why I'm visiting and I said for vacation
She said with my husband I said yes
She asked how many days I said 20 days
She asked where do I work, I told her am a lecturer
My husband works for a multi national oil company
She asked if I have any child in the us I said No. If I know anyone in the us I said no.
She asked me which country have I visited I told her . UAE UK. And I went on to explain to her that I just visited the Uk in December. And squeezed her mouth and just denied herself and not me. 😃😃. They truly do not know persons with genuine reasons to travel

Pls help me. I did my bsc in The Uk and I am still in the Uk. I want to go for my masters in the US where is the ideal place for me to go for my visa interview. Will it be in Nigeria or the Uk. I have the graduate route visa now. Thank you

I paid for my B1 visitors visa 2023 June and my appointment date is for 18 th July 2024, This date is not convenient for me because I’ll be traveling to the Uk for my daughter’s graduation which is on the 22nd of July. Hey 🤠


1. Those schools you applied to will never respond positively to you because you have not even submitted 45% of the graduate issions requirements.

2. Even the conditional offer letter you are seeking won't be granted to you until they receive your unofficial transcripts which is not even available to you right now .

3. You do not actually need your certificate to apply but the most important of your academic documents which the USA schools are waiting for is your transcripts which won't be available to you until after graduation .

4. You won't be deported from the UK if you do not entangle yourself in trouble and USA is not running away. Therefore , cool down till after graduation and process Spring 2025 issions with complete credentials .

5. Eventhough you have to come back to Nigeria after graduation, you have already achieved the feat of graduating from a UK institution which will make the USA embassy trust your post graduation story.

6. Attempting to obtain your credentials from your present school in the UK prematurely may result in incomplete or inaccurate cgpa gradings .

7. You have a cool international academic profile already (after graduation). Don't ruin your USA F1 visa opportunity with conditional ission. Don't settle for less.

Going to UK via all these airlines has nothing to do with brexit and you won’t need a transit visa of the countries you will be stopping over at, for instance if you are going to UK via Turkish airline you will have a stop over in Istanbul since you are not planning to enter Istanbul you will go to the connecting flight section and get your flight to the UK.

No you need a transit visa because of brexit. I called klm airline they said you need a transit visa

Yes you can apply for a 2 years visitor's visa. Also you can use the same . In as much as there is enough fund in it. I applied with my son with the same bal. Although we used my husband's and I submitted my too. I submitted my salary , savings and my axa mansard insurance acc.
You don't need to pay for ihs or TB certificate
And I got a 2 year visa

After making payment for my IHS and Visa Payment, I discovered I put my *Given Names* as Family Name and *Family Name* as Given Name.

I input my Wife and Child names correctly as expected except for my own.

I cannot edit the info again at this stage and I want ask if I can go ahead with this particular application or I am expected to fill another new application to avoid any issue for my Wife and Child whenever they will applying to come and me.

It doesn't matter. It was the same for.my son. My husband's name was mixed up.by the agent and he still got his visa

Good evening. My boy and I applied for visa. His is student visa while mine is visiting and is attached to his own because am just accompanying him to school. Although, it was different application and biometric dates. Mine was 15th Dec and his 14th Dec. I got my visa approved upto 2023. But my boy's own the main applicant is still pending why?

I think he should just leave it, as painful as it is.

An expensive and probably crazy option would be to make another payment of GBP7000 to the school using Form A and then ask for a refund, hoping that GBP7000 will be refunded directly to him and that he can sell same at parallel market rate. Maybe, he can say that he had initiated the payment via the bank and while it was taking a long time, he asked a friend to help him make the payment. He however needs to be careful so the school doesn't see him as trying to use the school to launder money outside the country. He also needs to confirm from the school's website that excess payments are refunded to the student.


Don't bother asking for refund ge will lose all because the refund will go back to the originating . Just be careful and learn hus lessons
