BluntNigerian: Well, NIMC will simply have to re-write their framework to accommodate for these dynamics so that an innocent man does not suddenly become a thief on of owning a used or recycled number - this case? Court awards N10m to man detained for using former SIM Card of Buhari’s daughter Read more at: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/05/court-awards-n10m-to-man-detained-for-using-former-sim-card-of-buharis-daughter/ |

Exactly! Not an issue at all. ing the recycled/new sim card will require that an NIN be provided. Or once a number is recycled, Telco's will automatically delete all the owners data associated with the sim card. Exc2000: |

Cantonese: this is what you get from weaker policies from stupid policy makers. the from obj term in office is still with me, this one was first meant to be an identification card now it's turning an online number. how would this get to reach those in the rural area? can the entire nation be covered in ten weeks? why give a standardized mode of identification? can we have the national ID, voters card and the international port all fused into one single card or document? can't we make it auto 18? (as soon as a child clocks 18 yrs he or she go get the port, which has all the rights and eligibility on it). soon as another government be it apc or pdp comes on we would start afresh. |

Sanchez01:Sim registration does not require you bvn but once you use that number to your bvn, it is mapped on it already. That is while some transaction only require you Mobile number linked to your bvn. This government is clueless. |

BluntNigerian: Nigerians should be vigilant and resist any policies that will enslave and futher take away their freedom. If nothing is done to stop this, the evil government will execute the plan of linking NIN to all public services as part of the plan to create the beast system (fascist totalitarian state). This is to track / control you and also make it easy to deny public services when the time comes. It is a case of problem, reaction, solution. They create a problem and then once there is a reaction, they implement their agenda. NIN program is a DNA harvesting scheme and it tied into COVID-19 globalists agenda. You will see what will happen next year once the COVID-19 vaccine is available in Nigeria. DonOms:please bro. what do you mean by recycle number, does it mean destroying the number? and more so, don't you think what telecom company need to do is put this thing online and allow it customers do it there rather than going to queue over there? don't be annoy for my silly question bro |
Sanchez01: 10:46am On Dec 17, 2020 |
Awoo88:From the banking sector, it is mapped but the same cannot be said if the telco sector. Although the BVN has your primary number, it can still be updated or changed periodically. And that the BVN has a number linked to you does not mean much when telecommunication is considered. Their operations vary. BVN is the banking sector's KYC and NIN will be the telco's KYC. |

Sanchez01:When you put it like that, it made sense but still the government is till clueless. When ing for NIN, your email and phone number are required. That is why when applying for national port, your NIN is required. And any information you supply different from the one on your NIN requires court affidavit. These data can be migrated without putting Nigerians through hardship. Only people without NIN should be made to for it. You can not operate an without bvn meaning without NIN. Those with secondary mobile numbers can update theirs from the comfort of their home. Besides, what happens to foreigners?? What happens to those on short visit to the country? |

jacoik: Recyling numbers means to reallocate a number not actively used for over 3 months to another customer. You stop using your number for over three months, it gets deactivated and made available as a new sim for someone else to buy and it. Actually the TELCOs are putting it online. I have matched my MTN lines with my NIN through the link they provided: mtnonline(dot)com/nim/ Although it is said that physical matching may or may not be required later. 1 Like |

Ordinary bvn you can't do with a recycled SIM because there's already a bvn attached to the number. The worst part is that you can link your bank with the same recycled number that already has another bvn attached to it because the bank officials simply don't bother to check. With this nin of a stuff, it's going to be one hell of a ride. |

Number recycling will not stop. Rather, once a mobile number is determined to have become dormant and out of use for the prescribed period, the personal details of the former owner can be erased at the time of reissue to a new subscriber. |

NIN synchronization with a SIM card is useless and fruitless effort by this incompetent and ineptitude individuals at the elms of affairs of this nation. There are so many relevant and important issues to look into, this is not one of them. It will also make it difficult for tourist or travelers to secure SIM card in Nigeria. I am not sure of any major country with similar law around the world. SIM registration should be enough and phone already has a gps tracking in case of crime investigations. The government failed to invest money in technological advancement of different sector. Can we all just agree that this geographic representation called Nigeria (Nigger Area) is a failed one? And we all should works towards a disunion. This amalgamation is not working, how long do we have to unhappily stays in this failed union. We can be a separate country and still work and trade with each other.

kutashi:(@bolded) This is exactly what they don't do. They would just wipe out all the information about the previous owner from their own database too.. A lot of police tracking that got the wrong persons involved are as a result of wrong information given to the police by the network providers who just provided the information about the current owner of such numbers to the police. |

This move practically brings an end to Sim card recycling. Major breakthrough indeed to the reckless action of Sim card recycling. In fact, this may also end Sim card expiration so that once you have ed a Sim card which is automatically linked to your BVN and NIN, it becomes yours forever and your family can even inherit it as an asset when you died. Hope I am not wrong. Cheers |
