My People, Please sorry for this question o. I have N150k, how far can it go on internal plastering of 4 bedroom flat. location prices of materials Plaster sand = 7k per 5 tonnes Cement = 2500 per bag Stone Dust = 18k per 5 tonnes (Though this is availabe on ground) 1 Share |

Muyi002: This is a big house o! Buy 6 plaster sand (30 tonnes). Buy 30 Bags of Cement Save the rest for labour Focus on the internal walls for now. Do all the rooms first and toilets after the rooms are completed. 1 Like |

n3xt: Bros, I beg na. I have tried to take that "Big House" mentality off my head so that i am not discourage at any point. i have gone far already. I just want to know what the 150k can do so that i dont just waste it anyhow without value for it. thanks, |

n3xt: I've always wanted to ask this question. Is there benefit of scale between 5 tons, 10 tons, 20 tons and 30 tons load? 2 Likes 1 Share |

EgunMogaji2: Well, here in Ilorin, if your are good at negotiation, small change will be removed. For Sharp Sand, maximum at a go is 10 tonnes truck which can be bought at 14k or even 13k but a single truck of 5 tonnes is sold at 8k for Granite, Quarry sell at 20k for 5 tonnes and irrespective of the tonnage, it is a fixed prices. for 5 tonnes delivery, driver will want to charge transport of 5k to sum up at 25k but if they are bringing 10tonnes at a go, then instead of 10k transport, you can reduce to 6k or 7k. the same goes for other types of sands. 2 Likes |

Muyi002: You can follow this order. You’ll go far but I’m sure 30 bags won’t complete the job. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Muyi002: You can swap 8 with 12 and probably 9 with 11. The idea is to put the house in livable condition. If you’re able to achieve this, I believe you’ll complete the project in no time. The external walls can be achieved with 4 trips of 5 tonnes sand (they one wey full o). 2 Likes |

EgunMogaji2: Tbh, I can’t say but what I know is big trucks rob BIG and small trucks rob small. It’s easy to spot a 5 tonnes truck that’s not full than a 30 tonnes truck carrying 25 tonnes of sand. 2 Likes |

When I had my truck, that’s when I got to know most of these secrets. You won’t believe my truck as big as it is cannot carry full 15 tonnes of sand. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPw6UOWYlTc My truck will load full 30 tonnes of sand almost 3 times. 1 Like |

EgunMogaji2: When I was naive, my driver actually used the same truck to load 25 tons of granite for me from Abeokuta. I was happy ![]() It was indeed a miracle when the same truck couldn’t load more than 13 tons of Berger sharp. I made google my friend and I discovered the truck is actually a 20 cubic yard truck. It can only carry 13.5 tons and we never hit that number because of the tires. When I was working in Ondo and I was given 28 tons by stoneworks (a company in Akure), we used the granites to sandfill almost 300m road because it was too much. Pics 1&2 (Home Depot): Here’s what 13.5 tons (20 cu yard) look like abroad. I know it’s (or should be) different here ![]() Pic 3: 13 tons x 2 by NextHome Disclaimer: Pls don’t go and fight your suppliers o. The truck been discussed here is NextHome dump truck and shouldn’t be taken as industry standard. 1 Share |

n3xt: Somethings ago when handle a project at lekki/Ajah axis I did some findings about there sand there I went to “pump and sell” bus stop at Aado rd Ajah where China companies do sell sharp sand direct from lagoon I discovered that the pay-loader caterpillar bucket is 5 tonnes and that your truck size is what common in that axis most of them do carry 2 bucket of the pay-load which is accurate 10 tonnes but they will tell you it’s 15 tones, you hardly see them take 3 bucket of that pay-loader. Any truck with that 3 buckets( real 15tonnes) of the pay-loader will be full like KILODEE And it’s sold as 25tonnes Against real 15 tones 4 Likes |

@rotecch77..... Do you still handle plastering and tiling like I saw on one of your posts? What are the conditions and modus operandi if you have to work in a village in Imo state? |
