Pop-corn ceilings, not good? I like the design it's just that some used in early 70s were detected to have asbestos, that is why they were condemned in USA present time.
There are some of them without asbestos still lingering around in old homes now, especially some concrete ceilings.

Does anybody know this type of ceiling, or who can do it for me.
It appears like plastor board is first nailed, and then the matte design is sprayed on it, giving it a nice mature look.
I saw it outside nigeria in several homes, and it looked really simple and nice. It was until i saw this old and damaged one that i kinda understood how it may have been done

Now the problem is I don't want to permanently conceal the cistern tank should in case there will be need for maintenance in the future. What other materials can I use for my toilet walls aside ceramic tiles? I mean material that can easily be removed and replaced during maintenance but will be water resistant to serve as good finishing for my toilet wall

How to achieve this: Plasterboard/drywall is drilled to the wood, ts are treated, skimming(aka screeding), then textured/pattern paint is applied.

Regarding “popcorn ceiling”, for what it’s worth it’s really old school design from the 60’s.

People renovating older homes pay money to have it scraped off and there’s a right little cottage industry in the USA doing that.
