Good idea, but may greatly delay delivery of the trains as infrastructure and skilled workforce are not yet in Nigeria. But we could strike deals that includes building infrastructure for local assembly and testing of trains.

Nigeria governmental structure needs a total rejig bcoz this government at present have shown it lacks the necessary innovational ideas to take us to the promise land... We can get loan or counter funding from China, and still dictate for them

A great but lofty idea. A train assembly plan is a different animal from a more common vehicle assembly plant.

It will cause needless delay.

It’s okay that this first phase is ordered but maybe they can work on transitioning future orders to be assembled in Nigeria.

China refurbished obsolete, abandoned waste and scrapped 18th century locomotives for Nigeria and shameless Nigerian leaders are celebrating. Scrapped locomotives that are no longer needed in civilised countries are sold to us as Assets. What a country.
