Rotimi Amaechi, minister of transportation, is currently in China to inspect some of the locomotives (trains) built for Nigeria by the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCRC).

Yesterday, I test-ran and took delivery of more trains in China to service the Abuja-Kaduna and Lagos-Ibadan rail lines. For those complaining that the trains are not enough, especially for the Abuja-Kaduna route, we heard cries, the trains are coming!

The 1st batch of new trains built for us by CRRC- 2 motored cars and 4 Locomotives. I have taken delivery & they would soon be in Nigeria. Work is ongoing on the 2nd batch of trains. The plan is to connect & unite the entire country by rail. Together, let’s ride to the #NextLevel

Na Lagos-Ibadan rail we go dey for 8 years, I wonder when the "transatlantic" rail line they are propising will be built.

Spend so much to install this rubbish we need to send him to Ethiopia to learn how to strike a deal.
Really this government has a bad taste talking about locomotive in this century is disappointing and disgraceful.
Where i am the only time i see locomotive trains is when they are doing rail maintenance. So they change the heads of the train when they get to the last destination to begin another journey.

They should have made it compulsory in the agreement that those locomotives be assembled here in Nigeria, this will definitely create jobs, boost local industry that fabricates steel , and also ensure we have a ready service centre that can repair any fault that may occur both on short term and long term and we won't have to be running to China at every issue
