Let this not be like normal Nigerian issue. We need to understand what #700,000 is for cause there can't be any legality in it.

NAFDAC any shops where they sell fake drugs should be permanently shut, and the fake drugs sellers prosecuted.

Medicine has become so expensive in near by states.
You need to know what people with terminal illness are ing through.
Who will save the poor in this country?
Why so much injustice.
The only major medicine market was close for months over crime committed by a few people. And the governor allegedly says nothing

If this is true, don't worry VDM, we have the network to escalate it beyond Nigeria...I pray is not true because at the end, they will vomit every kobo they must have taken from these hard working Nigerians.

It is true, my father paid. Although in Lagos. He paid 300k. Although they didn't find anything incriminating, just random closing of shops.

Every agency is being monetised to become primarily a revenue generating agency at all costs, even above their basic role.

Your network that you have beyond Nigeria is of no use, because those shops that sell fake drugs will be closed again and you cannot do anything

VDM is simply one individual.
He cannot change the system all by himself.
He will likely soon get over-worked and fatigued due to peoples never-ending complaints.

If 1000 shops have been able to pay it, then the entire market are culprits. On calling out NAFDAC they should return thebminey and close down the market completely.

He made a good point

NAFDAC never ever arrest people for selling fake drugs, instead they met out collective punishment which makes more people sell fake since they would be punished regardless.

EFCC remains the most effective agency in this country.

Sigh... The Corruption in this country is beyond SHOCKING and too shameful to comprehend.

During PDP regime, efforts were made to hide such graft, but under APC, nobody just dey bother to hide again... It's all in our faces.

All hope might be lost for the redemption of this contraption...!

You're allowing tribalism make you sound like a FULL. Mr Babalola that lost his 8 months pregnant wife in ICU IN FMCA will sure give you a dirty slap because the medication that should have revived her couldn't be gotten in the hospital, In Onitsha or Lagos on the two days she went into coma because shops are locked down. That man and his family went through hell combing nook and crannies of Abuja for those medication.

My daughter's life was saved because my siblings were taking from warehouses of other co-sellers outside the market and waybilling it. And YES! My daughter was the only person that survived.

And it takes VDM to unravel this when we have leaders.

Why can't the market leadership take Nafdac to court?

One thing is certain, everyone behaves and treats others as they like in this country.

May nature rise up and fight for those being oppressed.

It's getting too much.

The owners should come together and sue NAFDA ... let the reps go to court and explain why they the fees are necessary. They would have to explain to the court ...and for the money so far collected. That will be a big problem ...heads may roll ...fines imposed ... compensation for lost income ... reimbursement of fees paid ...and maybe someones sent to prison If not... they would come up with more schemes .. they do this because there are no consequences... no ability.

If this is true. That’s over 700M naira paid by some of the traders.

How did you arrive at 700milliion Sir?

Everything that has to do with south east is always different and treated differently from other zones and regions in Nigeria. Why??

Let's take port Harcourt as a case study.

When nafdac enters a big market in PH they come for a particular shop or line of business with prelay down information before even coming to the market, not coming to close down the whole market because one or two persons are into fake.

Why are the government applying QUOTA system in everything that has to do with south east??

They don't do that!
I was shocked when my dad told me that a very big hospital called to complain that they don't have some OTC medication in their shelves.

I don't even want to talk about the fact that hospitals in Abuja did not even have some paediatric vaccines at that time.

Infant, some children with respiratory issues suffered because some medication to nebulise wasn't available.

This guy's comment can lead to controversy just as the same way Nonso Nkwa comment about hummer buses with tinted glasses being used by organ harvestors to kidnap victims gave way for government of Imo state to clamp down on buses with factory fitted sunglasses and now innocent drivers are harassed and exploited.

Tell me why those shops after paying this huge amount of money as bribe wouldn't go back to selling fake drugs.

The cycle continues...its so sad.
Very few of those shops well selling fake drugs, NAFDAC were really lying about it. They just locked people's shops and demand for ransom before they are allowed to open. Same thing is happening in Aba, ariaria at the medical line. It's all extortion by NAFDAC.
